Great video, actually the best I've watched! I spent yesterday shopping, have all my supplies, dough is made, now cookies and icing! You make it look so easy! I did have some lessons from a friend, but I have a lot to learn!! Thank you, thank you!!
I'm not brave enough to try this yet, but I'm really enjoying your videos. They make me feel like this is something I could accomplish if I practice & learn.
🤯 Wow!!!! Newb here! I am so excited to get started with my sugar cookies this year!!! btw, I'm doing Keto cookies and icing. Totally sugar free! Better for the overly-active kids and diabetics who love the holidays but not the sugar hang-overs. Thank you so much!!! 🦌🦌🦌🦌🎅🎁🎄⛄
Thank you for explaining the uses of the different consistencies of icing and what 20 second and 10 second, etc. icing is. It is very much appreciated!
Hi Hani, I learned cookies decoration (and to make the cookie it self) watching your CZcams channel. I just decorate cookies for my grandchildren's birthdays and Christmas. I love to do it, and they look pretty nice. But the icing consistency is always a struggle. Hope that some day I'll have the amazing ability you have. Thanks for the inspiration.
This is great information Haniela. I've been thinking of making a royal icing video on my channel, but if anyone has questions, I'll send them to you! ❤
So glad you posted this again!! Where do you get that small purple texture spreader? Is it on your list in the description? I love when you put in your little dot of highlights. I'm all thumbs when I do it. With all the consistencies, you must go through tons of bags. LOL.
I've been sharing all the tools and stuff on the blog now. Description on you tube has a word limit so I can't add anymore stuff in there. LOL And so you can find the purple tool listed in the recipe here. At the very top you can click on jump to tools and it's listed there. It works well for so many things. www.hanielas.com/perfect-graham-crackers/ Hope it helps. Thank you.
Thank you for taking your time to explain the consistencies. I love your work. I use your recipes since 2 years ago and little by little I push my self to try new things. I don't have a business just bake as a hobbie for family and friends. Anyways, lately, I have been getting lots of air blubbles in the icing and some I can't even get them out of the cookies and they show when the cookies are dried. Any tips? Thank you!
this video was perfect!! i’m making cookies for my sisters wedding and i got the flooding and decorating down, but couldn’t get the tiny little letters quite right
Hi Hani absolutely amazing! Your an artist! Just wanted to know is there any particular way to cut the baggy? And is there a way to time piping consistency? ( I tried and it just didn’t flow like yours it kept breaking as a wrote😔) thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials!!
I've learnt a lot from you Hani. Thank you 💖.. when I decorate my cookies with RI, the icing layer seems to be so soft that I can't draw using a marker, it looks like a carving than a drawing. Any clue why it happens and any tips to avoid that?
Excellent demonstrations, thank you! Question: can you thin royal icing once it is already in the piping bag? Or do I have to remove and start over. Thanks.
i love this video! btw, when you are flooding is the outline and the flood you are doing the same bag? or do you use two different bags sith different consistencies? i ask because youseem to be able to get so much more out when you flood. again, thank you for making this video!
This was very helpful! But how to you make your royal icing? I’m trying to get your 20 second icing down but don’t know how you make your icing! Please help mehhh!
Thank you for explaining about consistency! When you make Royal icing, do you have to use it all the same day? Is there a way to store it to use over a few days? Thanks!
Hello Annette, royal icing made with meringue keeps for a while. I like to store mine in the fridge as it doesn't separate as quickly, for up to a month. You can store it on the kitchen counter as well. And you can also freeze royal icing. Royal Icing FAQ www.hanielas.com/royal-icing-faq/ How to Freeze and use frozen royal icing www.hanielas.com/freezing-royal-icing/
How long did you let the black icing dry before putting on the white and what “seconds” icing did you use for the soccer ball? That’s the exact cookie I’m trying to make!
Thanks for sharing this video. You’re very artistic. When. You wait in between drying times, won’t the cookies eventually get too hard and no longer fresh being exposed in air?
I've been having trouble getting my icing to be as full & vibrant color as I would like. I'm using Wilton gel colors & I'm just wondering if these might not be the right gels to be using to obtain the full vibrant color I'm trying to obtain. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
will you share where you found your small mixing bowls for the icing? They look like silicone. I looked at your resource page but didn’t see those listed. I did a quick search on Amazon but could not find them. Thanks for all the work you put into this video.
Hi Maria actually they are from a dollar store, I got them years ago. I'm looking for something similar as they are absolutely fantastic. I love how flexible they are.
Thanks Miki. You can peel it off if you need to. I didn't have to do that yet. It is especially useful when bagging a log of bags for classes. I bagged 150 bags, tying them with a rubber band and that was it for me. I switched to a tape sealer and never looked back
@@Hanielas WOW...150 bags?! Well, when I recently made 8 bags of royal icing colors, I was already exhausted, lol! And by the way, when are you coming out with a cooking decorating book? I'm waiting for it. ;)
HI Heather, I'm using one consistency to outline and flood. When I flood I put more pressure onto the piping bag and therefore more icing is coming out, making it appear like a different bag. Hope that helps.
Hi, how does your icing not overflow, I tried with different consistencies and it always overflows especially wen I'm piping right at the edge of the cookie it just doesn't seem to sit without moving, any advice? Thank you, love your work btw

Professional-grade video, with realistic and straight-forward commentary. You are talented at more than cookies, my friend! Excellent.
Thank you so much Christy.
Glad I watched!!Now I don't need to make 2 bags of each color for outline and fill.
Yes, you don't. Thank you.

When you snip across the seam do you recommend keeping that seam up to pipe or does it matter?

I have to try using a tape sealer!
But the downside would be that it would be hard to adjust the tape, right?

You first outline the cookie with piping consistency then fill it with 15 or 20 sec consistency?
