  • ( www.TFLcar.com ) The 2015 Chevy Tahoe & Chevy Suburban are 4WD, three-row people haulers that will also tow your boat, horse traileror third wheel. In fact, the Chevrolet Suburban is the oldest nameplate in the world. In other words, that means it is the oldest vehicle with the same. In another accurate, fun and informative TFLca first drive review, Roman drives and reviews these classic body-on-frame SUV's to see how they drive, and in the process tests these big rigs to see how fast they will spring from 0-60 MPH.

    Are people too stupid to realize this is a FULLY LOADED Tahoe? These things come with a shitload of options. You can buy a Tahoe starting a 44k. People for years have been complaining about GMs quality. Better quality is going to come with a bigger price tag.

      They put enough money in to make a interior for the Tahoe rather than the Silverado’s interior. LOOK AT THE EXPEDITION LOL

    So if you didn’t ride in the suv don’t hate because you don’t know what your talking about.

    $71k for a Tahoe... are you shitting me??? A couple years ago you could get an Escalade ESV for less than that. No worries though, its a Chevy so it should depreciate by about $30-35k in the first 3 years...

    • @92ASC
      @92ASC Před 10 lety +3

      Slash396 Nah more so just common sense. I'll admit GM is putting out some better quality vehicles(probably because they are using more foreign design and parts), but compare the resale value to something like 5-10 year old Toyota or Infiniti vs an older GM and you'll see my point. You can go out and buy a practically new "used" Tahoe for $10-20k off sticker price. Plus there's the status symbol of the emblem on the car, shallow as it may be. Why would someone drop $50-60k on a Chevy when you could get something like a Lexus or a Benz for the same money?

    • @92ASC
      @92ASC Před 10 lety +2

      yeah except Lexus' don't really require anything other than regular maintenance(oil change, filters, etc.) And plus lexus dealerships are among the top rated for customer service. It's like comparing Nordstrom to Walmart. And please show me factual evidence of your "GM owns 80% of the market" claim. Until you can please just stop talking.

    Test drove it. We are getting the Lincoln Navigator after driving the Yukons and Tahoes. Visually I thought the Yukon and Tahoe was nice inside and out. Rear seat is not good for bigger kids or adults in the Yukon or Tahoe where the Navigator definitely does. The floor height is cramped with the solid rear axle underneath in the Yukon and Tahoe, where in the Navigator your feet are not cramped because the Navigator has rear independent suspension. The Yukon and Tahoe doesn't have independent rear suspension so when you drive you notice that the vehicle doesn't have as good of a ride as the Navigator. Steering the Yukon and Tahoe took way more work but I did like the thick steering wheel where the Navigator steered effortlessly. Gas pedal on the Small V8 is so restricted to try and get good gas mileage. The 6.2 was well powered and didn't have the same lethargic gas pedal but on the Lincoln Navigator the throttle response was not just amazing but powerful across a larger power-band. I don't think the 6.2 would win zero to 60 nor do I think the 6.2 could out pull a full trailer as well.

    Everyone keeps complaining that it costs $71,000. However, the base price for a Tahoe is about $44,600 and $47,300 for a Suburban. It's not too ridiculous and is only about 1 grand more expensive than last year's model.

    • @TheNikberishaj
      @TheNikberishaj Před 10 lety +1

      Because for 71k you can buy a very nice luxury SUV such as a GL350, Lexus GX, Audi Q7. All of which sell for around 45k-50k. The new twins are great but fuel economy and resale value hurt them both. For 71k you might as well get the new Escalade, why would anyone buy a LTZ model?

    • @Fordguy1997
      @Fordguy1997 Před 10 lety +1

      My point was that you don't have to spend $71,000 on a Tahoe. Just because it has enough options and high-end trim levels doesn't mean you have to pay that much. A well-equipped Tahoe with leather and MyLink will cost about $55,000. While I admit it is a bit overpriced, it is still a good quality vehicle with a true, body on frame construction.
      Those luxury SUVs that you mentioned are nice, but they're not full size truck-like vehicles and lack the interior capacity of the Tahoe/Suburban. They're crossovers, except for the Lexus. Also, if something breaks on those cars, it's very expensive to fix. I don't think the pricing is too unreasonable.

      @IVEMER Před 10 lety

      bro do the math..
      compare of what options you want in the car and how much each of those packages costs from the dealership...
      even if you want just one thing but not the whole package.. you still have to buy the whole package in order to get that one thing you want..
      it would be more efficient if they would allow you as the buyer what you want and not want..because im sure 40% of the time there's something in the vehicles that almost nobody uses..lol
      and that alone would make it more affordable..

    19mpg city is still pretty damn respectable for such a massive vehicle. Still pretty impressive numbers. For my money, however, I think I'd still have a Durango. I know there's not as much space in the 3rd row, but I don't think I'll be using it much. I mostly just love the look of the Durango more than the new Tahoe/Suburban. Also, even maxed, the Durango is comes way under the $70k mark. Like...way under. Still though, GM's new big SUVs seem solid. Nice job!

You ca completly fold the third and second row seats flat with the touch of a button and even raise the third row back up. The interior is very nicely layed out and of high quality with even pannnel gaps. Very upscale. For people saying this is ugly, get your head out of the 80's. no ones going to buy that these days. i love all generations of chevy but this one is very clean and chiseled and luxurious. not PLASTICY like some of you had mentioned. But your dream Corvette..
    People don't usually look to buy these unless they have a Big family like mine. Fords are nice yes, but the technology in those things have not changed in the last 10 years... I honestly wouldn't care of I got a ford or a Chevy, but were I am from in Texas, Chevrolet is a lot more popular, so I am little more biased because of OnStar and keeping my family safe on long road trips, being able to unlock and lock my car from my phone, remote start it and get diagnostics!.
    But I respect everyone's opinions about there pick of the bunch. It's just like being republican or democratic.. It usually steams from what your family is, my family has Always had a Chevrolet since I was a kid, my best friend has a ford, yeah it's nice I do like the exterior, and they drive nice, but I am not a ford kinda guy.
    I like Chevrolet because of there looks, more appealing to my opinion, but everyone's is different. In the long run, there both safe cars and get you from point A to B.

  • @Scootin_Tootin_LT1
    @Scootin_Tootin_LT1 Před 10 lety

    Even though the price seems ridiculous, it's understandable if you look at the facts. A base Suburban LS 2WD starts at $48,295; but comes standard with tri-zone climate control, rear-view camera, parking sensors, and remote start; these are options that would have been on a $40,000 truck a 5-10 years back. Not to mention the interior quality has been significantly improved compared the previous models plastic interior. The loaded LTZ model that runs $70,000 comes with coil springs, magnetic ride control, and adaptive cruise control; in 2014, you could only get these options on the Escalade, which would run you around $70,000. My question is, what does the Escalade and Denali trucks have to offer now? GM's strategy in terms of luxury has been Chevy, GMC, GMC Denali, then Cadillac. With their new Tahoe and Suburban creeping into the Escalade's market, what will the Cadillac have to offer and what will it cost? My opinion and from what the feedback says, Chevy's high price, loaded Suburban is going to scare away a lot of buyers. People who bought the Escalade before may not have minded spending the $70k on a truck, but they were spending it on a Cadillac, not a Chevy. Salaries haven't increased that much if at all, Chevy buyers aren't going to justify the price raise. Maybe some Escalade buyers will trickle down to the Suburban depending on the cost of the Esclade, but time will tell.

    @MattyH1992 Před 10 lety +5

    All you people complaining about price need to get a grip on reality. Especially if you're only argument is how much more expensive these are then previous models. These Tahoe are nicer, better quality vehicles in every way compared to old GM trucks. People bitched to GM when they made plastic filled vehicles so they made the quality of everything better. That comes with a price tag. If you people really think they could positively overhaul an entire platform and not bump price you're idiots.

    Once again, GM has overstepped its bounds with a $70K Chevrolet that has more than 2 doors. The writing is on the wall when, once again, it will be on it's knees begging Uncle Sugar for another a bail out. There is just too much competition from the foreign auto makers in this segment that offer more for less. Fools.

      a fully loaded escalade would go between 90k- 100k
      it's a nice suv; great for family
      but one thing i despise with gm trucks are that they overprice them upfront.. which is preposterous...
      lower your price man and they would sell out easy..
      after all more americans prefer an suv these days

      It depends on your height. They look big on the outside, but 2nd row legroom sucks. I'm 6'4 and it feels small to me. The Sequoia, Armada, and Qx56/Qx80 have the most room. The front Tahoe seats do slide back further than older models, but it also kills 2nd row legroom.

    If you want a 4x4 Tahoe and do not have much cash, why not just buy a used one? They are plentiful and dirt cheap in the used car market and if you shop well you can get a great deal. Even a 2009 model Tahoe is a marvel of modern engineering and design. It weighs almost 6200 lbs so i got in for around a dollar per lb. That is going to be my goal in the future when buying vehicles to pay around a dollar per lb. I should be able to get into a used econobox (aka: penalty box) for practically nothing. LMFAO
