- I'm back in the Philippines and this time ive brought another British lad - @BackpackerBen . In Filipino culture, instead of priests or ghostbusters, people turn to an Albularyo-a traditional healer akin to a white witch. These healers harness the power of nature and its spirits, combatting dark forces and aiding in physical healing. Albularyos use herbs for treatment, and some even claim to perform psychic surgery, healing without physical incisions. Though skeptics may dismiss these practices, the power of belief, known as the placebo effect, can lead to actual health improvements.

The Canadians who got kidnapped and killed in Samal happened in late 2015, not 2019. The group responsible for this was the Abu Sayyaf which is an Islamic extremist organization. FYI, Davao City is actually often hailed as the safest city in the Philippines. Try to visit Bukidnon too Harry. So many breathtaking sceneries there like Panimahawa Ridge, Communal Ranch (New Zealand vibes) and its vast pineapple plantation. ᵔᴗᵔ

@@stebopign its not a propaganda... davao has facilities for peace and order... just look at the civic parade where davao displays its city assets and security forces... we also have infrastructure for peace and order... highly focused cctv camera connected to a central station for very fast response during emergencies and crime prevention... now which city in the philipppines has that?

I am from Mindanao, left in 1973 for Toronto and visits practically yearly. Never really thought of our place as dangerous except for parts like Marawi and Basilio. Only people in Manila thinks so because of the Media. When there was Martial law in the 70's, we didn't even really have a curfew.

So glad to see you my city ventured to Mindanao Davao City ...and Samal Island.... because it's the most underrated place and unfairly labeled us a dangerous place to visit....Thank you for promoting to the rest of the world that after all it's another safe and beautiful place to visit in the Philippines...please go to Bukidnon it's a few hours from the city but beautiful hilly natures scenes....Samal you did not stay long enough to enjoy the beaches and snorkeling the Paradise resort offers scuba diving....
