    Ok, so I just got done installing the 60% version of the Goose Gear platform. The 60% works perfect for a medium size Labrador Retriever and you still have a seat in the back. Since today is St. Patrick's Day, my Ginger is at a bar drinking heavily and could not assist, so I had to fly solo. There were no instructions with the package so this video is what I used for guidance and I thought I could provide some supplemental information. There are two bolts which have to be removed to separate the seats along with the two small bolts on the decorative cap that covers the seat base. The seat will NOT come out unless the decorative cap is removed. Note two things when installing the four bolts which hold the platform in place. First, if you look through the holes prior to putting in the bolts you will see the ground which makes it essential to use anti-seize. Second, when installing the front bolt on the door side only snug this bolt. There is a gap between the platform and the hole where the bolt goes. If you over tighten it like I did you will hear a horrible crunching sound as the bolt starts to go through the platform. I made a spacer to fill the gap and like everything I work on I was then able to tighten it to 10,000,000 foot pounds of torque. Last, if you leave the side panels slightly loose you can slide them and make final adjustments to make sure nothing is binding or rubbing prior to tightening. I took my Jeep off road after installation and no rattles or annoying sounds from the installation. One thing I did notice is that with the seat removed the Alpine stereo sub-woofer is now exposed and it changes the acoustics. I can probably tune it up a bit using the equalizer. All and all me and my dog are quite satisfied with the purchase. A little pricey for what it is but it works!

      Hi Vernon. Does your lab sit in a crate in the 60% section? I’m curious if I can fit a crate for mine with just the 60% section without hitting the other seat. Also, did you get the normal or the high platform? If you use a crate, what size? Thanks so much.

    • @vernondent6818
      @vernondent6818 Před 3 lety +4

      @@PaulPanus I have a 33"x26" bed which fits perfectly on top of the 60% platform. A crate at or less than this dimension should fit fine. I have the standard platform which elevates my 82lb. Lab just enough to safely put his head at window height. It really does work well for a dog and since it is lower than the seat he can jump in and out with little effort. Good luck, hope this helps.

Dynamat extreme on everything and then a layer of 1/8” dynaliner. I then added another layer of 1/4” dynaliner on the larger flat areas to give ultimate coverage. Capped it off with hotheads headliner and added 1/8” dynaliner to the doors and the Jeep is as quiet as a Cadillac Escalade now.

    So let me get this straight. You have a 4 door jeep that seats 5 people, from factory , and you want to turn it into a 2 seater, with 4 doors still? Why?! Why not just buy a 2 door jeep, then remove the rear seats? It makes so much more sense.
    2 door jeeps FTW!! 😄 🖖

      Hey hey there. Take about 20% off there bud! Just kidding - yeah, we love 2 door jeeps and have owned and built many. Depends on the intended use of your Jeep. This Gladiator is our support truck, so it's carrying lots of weight, gear and fuel for our team for our deep forest excursions up in Northern BC. Send us a pic of your 2 door for us to check out. Cheers!

      For me this is a great option for the dogs. Having a flat space in the back for the rather large impact crates is great. No, they don't go in the bed.

    I bought a 60% and 40% delete after watching several positive CZcams videos. Avoid this product - it's absolute garbage. It doesn't fit, the manufacturing quality is terrible (plastic peeling, improperly installed T hardware, pieces that don't fit).
    This is an insanely expensive product you'll end up tossing in a dumpster. Save yourself the headache and don't by from Goose Gear.
