Awesome and a right on! Hit me up anytime! Thank you so much for watching Cristian!
Those are the the knowledge hoarders, can't stand those guys.
I've only been in maintenance for 2 years this month and still have a lot to learn. I work as the night shift maintenance at a very large private school with a 100 acre campus. They can't work on toilets much during the day so it was one of the first things I learned. Wish I would have thought about securing the bolt to the flange like that. Genius! I use an Oscilating saw tool to cut the bolts off if they're just spinning or rusted on. Glad I found your channel. I've used youtube so many times at work when I'm not sure how to fix something.
Right on! Thank you so much for watching Nate!
Dude is hilarious! Lmao. Side Job Mcgee
👍😆👍 Thank you so much for watching Mr. Wagner!
next level mama ...she is tight mama ,,no more leaks skid
Hahahaha! Thank you Steve! Hope i said your name right. Thank you for watching man!
My two favorite youtube techs in one thread! :)
Love both channels. 👍👍👍
Awesome presentation. I installed my toilet a month ago and everything was good, but now its shaking. I didn't know to bolt the crew to the flange. Now I'm going back in and bolt it down to the flange. THANKS BROTHER!
Warren Smith You're welcome! Thank you so much for watching Warren!

Another good job lex most people won't double the flange Bolt nuts but I always do the only thing I saw that I've had bad experiences with is that old ballcock I always get rid of that & put in a fluid master fill valve good job brother
chris currie Thank you so much for watching Chris!

You are the best man !!! I recently started maintenance only painting expirence I’m excited to watch your videos and learn appreciate you man
Right on! Thank you so much for watching Ryan!
I didn’t know about the Jam Bar. Tried everything to get the spinning bolts off and gave up; went to Harbor Freight and bought a $22 recip saw. Bam! Gone! But I’m going to pick up a Jam Bar for future fun! Easier to carry around than the recip saw.
Right on Lee! Thank you so much for watching!
bring it on aunt pam..... thats to funny lex great job love the skid vids.....
Joel Padilla Thank you so much Joel! Shes ready to start paying dues & flushing 2's.😂😂😂
I'm always afraid to over tighten the toilet. I always put grout around the bottom because the tiles usually messed up and the grout stabilizes the toilet
Thank you so much for watching Baxtar!
Just don't seal the whole toilet. One day, when the wax ring is gone and the toilet leaks, you will have sealed in all the water, and it'll be a big mess.
If you don't have a grinder, a reciprocal saw with a metal cutting blade to cut that bolt down.
I was a plumber, doing new construction, for 2 or so years. I loved that job. I dont think I'd really care for trouble calls, lol.
A regular hand held hacksaw will work. Thank you so much for watching C Bretz!
Awesome video and work my man!!!
Darryl Williams Thank you so much Darryl!

Hahahaha! It is ready for thanksgiving. Thank you so much for watching Mona!
Poor Aunt Pam 🤣🤣
👍😆👍 Thank you so much for watching Taylor!
I like the wax with a funnel...it makes sure the water goes passed where the flange and wax meet. Sorry Steve Lav...lol
😅 Thank you so much for watching jstu!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
We have cast iron flanges at my property, they are slightly elevated so have to use wax ring without funnel, otherwise the toilet won't sit level
Good vid...my 2 cents...Plastic bolts are designed to hold themselves up , never spin and never corrode. Also easy to cut off excess threads. I used to hate them because I thought they were inferior to brass but after someone showed me the benefits I only use them now.
Thank you so much for watching jstu!

Dam I would love to have you as a co worker FAAAAWK..
Thank you so much for watching Essic!
Thank you !!!
You're welcome Francisco! Thank you so much for watching!
If you take your bucket and dump a couple of gallons of water in the bowl it will flush itself. Keeps from having as much water to vacuum out.
Right on! Thank you for the wisdom Jpy! And Thank you so much for watching man!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Battery powered oscillating tool cuts well :) or even quick set adjustable johnnies are great too.(there apx.3.00 more than regular packs; don’t have to cut em though:) )
I love this channel. As a licensed plumber I respect maintenance gents more now.
Right on! Thank you so much for watching J. Adams!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
if you haven't seen them Wilmar.com has new taller toilet bolt caps. no need to cut the bolts down.

Lmao Lex
Good vid thanks for the info one thing to note though you should make sure the fixed side of your crescent is the end used to apply force the way you had it wears on the tool and risks but your info and presentation were top notch thanks
Tyler English Thank you for the wisdom Tyler! And thank you for watching!
Lex Vance thank you and nice to know I gave wisdom to a channel I've used lots of wisdom from
Hey Lex! When you grind off the closet bolts, do the sparks burn the finish on the porcelain? I’m always worried about that happening. Love the vids!!
I have before. I place a small wet towel there now to protect the bowl.
👍😂👍Thank you so much for watching Handyman Duran!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
I dont vacuum. Just flush and carry and rest whole toilet on tub to drain. Much much faster. And a hacksaw with metal blade for bolts. Nobodies got time to wrestle with that lol. Love youre vids man.
Right on! Thank you so much for watching J S!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com

👍😆👍 Just making memories. Thank you so much for watching David!
Was this at another property? Doesn’t look like the mancesa toilet you usually work on. And also different baseboards and shut-off valve.
Yea, it was at a rental house in a side job. Thank you so much for watching Alex!
Where did you get the other nut. My only comes with one set of screws and nut
It should come with 2 screws and 2 nuts. 🤔
They could’ve cleaned the bowl before calling you out lol

www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com

No doubt! Thank you so much for watching Chris!
Have you used the wax free universal toilet seal yet? It's made by korky. I ordered 2 of the from HD Supply but haven't used them
No I haven't. Sounds interesting though. I'm going to look into that. Thank you Bezerk! And thank you for watching!
+Lex Vance my HD Supply rep brought one to me for show. They're more complicated looking because they're universal.
Ready to go for the Turkey day mookie stanks!!😂😂😂
👍😆👍 Thank you so much for watching Michael!
Hey Lex. Do you have a dedicated putty knife to scrape the toilets? Or do you just clean them off? If you clean it, what do you use to get the wax off?
Handyman Duran I just wipe it with a hot towel. The hot water in the towel softens the wax & makes it easier to come off. I try to use the same scraper. Its in plastic paper like material. Thank you so much for watching Handyman Duran!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Thanks Skid!!
dremel instead of a grinder.....steve lav is a real workin man...lol
Do you guys caulk around the base of the toilets? Ive always caulked the base but the very back to expose a posible leak. Just curious on your thoughts?
LMAO nevermind I guess ya gotta read the rest of the comments and ya might find your question hahahaha. Sorry not sorry hee hee!!
@@ZandRsportscards 👍😂👍
Thank you so much for watching Robert!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
How about some caulk around the front of the bowl...dude love the channel
I had a subfloor rot on me one time. Water couldn't get out because of caulk. So, now I'm all paranoid about caulking bowls. Maybe I'll bounce back one day & start caulking the front only. Thank you so much for watching Nicholas!
Dig that power Slide bro, CAMT tech that made it thru my Courses with watching your Vid`s and as you say "common sense',,i have turned a lot Techs on to ya but kept it a secret @ School ^5!!!
Right on! I love hearing that. It keeps me going for sure. Thank you so much for watching Robert!
Need to know about furnace. On hoe to take them out and water tanks
Right on. There's a lot of CZcams videos on how to to do that.
I just use bolt cutters to take care of the excess bolt.
Thank you so much for watching!
I thought the same thing about steves videos and grinder but works great haha
Justin 95 LoL!😂 I know right! I love getting rusted bolts now. I used to hate'em. Any excuse to bust the grinder out. Thank you for watching Justin!

Yep, Steve's my pal. Thank you for watching Jimbola!
sweeet job!!!!!
Thank you!
Good job bro
Thank you so much for watching Supreme!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Your right about Steve Lav ... he can do more by him self than most people can with two
helpers ...boat load of knowledge on his channel ...but that's true of a lot of our you tubers
a lot of good how-to information from all trades ...better than most of the crap on T V ..
radwkrea yep, im a huge Steve Lav fan!
you like the way steve L cuts off the bolts then you should get a pump like he use to remove water in toiled instead dragging heavy shop vac
DENNIS N I know right! I'm a big Steve Lav fan. Thank you so much for watching Dennis!
www.dirtymaintenancenation.com
Why not caulk around the bottom of the toilet? You obv know way more than me so im not questioning you lol im just wondering is it just not necessary? Most of them were caulked in at the complex I worked, so i always did when i'd turn an apt and the toilets werent caulked or when i installed a new one. After a year away, im starting another maintenance job next monday and im watching these videos to brush up. thanks for taking the time to make them.
CDKJ 85 I don't caulk the bottom because when the wax ring fails & leaks, I want to see it leaking immediately. If theres caulk on the bottom, the caulk will hold the water in & you won't know its leaking until the sub floor has rotted from being wet for months. Now you have to replace the floor & vivyl or tile.
Thank you so much for watching CDKJ!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Just don't caulk behind the toilet. Caulk the front and sides. Leave an opening so the water can get out if there is a leak
Didnt you put those nuts upside down? They are shaped like that for threading if Im not mistaken.
This an old video. I could have goofed. 😆 Thank you so much for watching snack!
I use like a smaller lock cutter
Why ur not using steel toe work boots? i wish i could use those kind of shoes but we are not allowed
Why are the bolts made so tall anyway?
Who knows. 🤣
I use a milwaukee m12 "dremel" tool instead of a big grinder.
Right on. Thank you so much for watching jstu!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
It was a wobbler, and now it's a gobbler with 5-flush certification!
Hahahaha! nice Dwight. Thank you for watching man!
What if the flange is broken???
Finally the Truth You'll need to replace flange or go to home depot & get a flange repair kit.

What kind of friggin animal got stuck in the toilet?
A nutrient I believe they're called. Total nightmare. 😆
jam bar?! I saw Steve use one b4 and I left a comment asking what that was but I didn't get a reply
james sabourin It keeps the bolt from turning when you're trying to unscrew the nut. its a sweet tool! It holds it in place. I got mine off Amazon.
amzn.to/2rH9jdG
thank you for watching James!
www.dirtymaintenancenation.com
thanks I'll grab one. it's a pain when I have to deal with that situation
also called johni bar
No caulking around toilet rim?
Jose Hernandez No I like to see it leak right away if the wax ring fails. Not when the sub-floor rots. Thank you so much for watching Jose!
www.dirtymaintenancenation.com
i thought the same thing. but after thinking about it, it seems like it would be better not to in the sense that you may not know the toilet is leaking and it might do damage to the floor whereas if it wasnt caulked, you'd know right away when there was a leak and could fix it, rather than the caulking holding in the water to rot the floor.
That thing needs new fill &flush valve's
12:00 u can see water running down the back sife of the bowl. Fulsh valve leeking
Thank you so much for watching Bart!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Great video, except for one thing-I nearly stroked out when you didn't clean the floor and area around the repair before replacing the toilet. You can't do this to us women! Lol
di butler how’s it going
No caulk
Right on. Thank you so much for watching Juan!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com

Hey Steve, at 6:13 you pulled out a black thing. What was that? I'm going to try to do this myself LOL
lola pereira Its a rubber piece that goes with the wax. They sell them like that. Not necessary. just put down a wax ring & youll be fine. Thank you so much for watching lola!
