- There are a lot of different short course RC wheels out there, with lots of different offsets. This video will explain what their true backspacing measurements are, which trucks they fit, and why you would want to pick one the other.

God knows how many times you've helped me with your videos......thank you so much!
Be careful using the measurement from the rear face to the hex mounting surface as that is backspacing, not offset. Offset refers to the distance from the centerline of the wheel to the hex mounting surface; a measurement that is based on knowing the exact width of the wheel and where the hex mounting surface is located relative to that. It's easy to mix the two up but they are not interchangeable.
Good point, and I should've been more careful with the term. In the beginning I briefly mention what 0-offset actually means, but unfortunately Proline went and redefined the term and confused the rest of the world. Good point about backspacing, thanks, didn't know there was a term for that so I just called it "the measurement from the inner lip to the mounting surface".
Thank you very much. I have wasted many hours trying look this stuff up. Now it is in my favs so I can always watch it again 😎👍
Glad it's useful!
Awesome info!! This is why I like your channel. You have so much racing info 👍👍
Thanks! Seems like people like the more technical videos, so I'll be doing more in the future.
Good info brother!
Thank you for this. I'm hitting that like. Already subbed.
Great vid. I'm building 3 SCT's to race at our new track and have been buying bulk lots of random wheels off eBay, its been a challenge trying to figure out what fits what...It will be much easier now, Thanks!
Good info bro
What a nice review my friend~!!^^👍👍
This video is good info for wheels
Great video!! Now i have the know how!!
Thank you!!!
The Offset is where the hub meets the outside of the rim. Not the width. 0 offset means the hub sits flush with the edge of the rim. The less the offset, the narrower the profile will be. 3mm offset will sit a total of 6 mm wider than 0 offset to the outer edge of the tire.
That's actually backspacing. Proline calls it offset, but it's the wrong term. www.discounttiredirect.com/learn/offset-backspace
Cool video great info.. so is a 2wd slash the only sct that uses a different front wheel? Thanks
Good to know bud thx
The green ones are gangsta
Thanks for the vid but I can't find much info on the HPI jumpshot sc v2. Would you know the offset and is it the same for front and rear?
Still looking for a video of how these go together. No luck here
could you do one for 1/10 buggy wheels??
Hello, i know the video was made a long time ago , but .. any recomendation for a 17mm senton? Wana have road/dirt track tires
Make another video please ---.
Why would you use each wheel? What about the tread patterns?
Will tlr d216 wheels fit a team associated b6.1? Please help I'm a rookie and saw a good deal on raw speed d216 but I have a b6.1. Thanks!
And now we have drag wheels in the sct wheel category. What are those offsets?
I just bought a Tekno SCT410.3. I have a bunch of Traxxas 4x4 offset wheels and tires. Is it okay to use those on my Tekno?
what are the name of the ones that fit slash
What size tire goes on these wheels?
Are short course trucks still popular to race?
I can’t find proper specs for the Redcat 1/10 sc. any help would be appreciated.
What is kyosho sc6 offset
What happens if I put any of these on my rustler?
i just bought 8 old new nos imex samurai aka vrx blast riverside hobby i think look the same aluminum frame n such 4x4 non solid rear axel unit
so what wheels and tires can I use on my losi tenacityy tt pro?
0 offset. Anything else and it will be extra wide
Which offset will fit the ARRMA Senton 3s BLX?
I'm pretty sure it's about 3.9mm offset
Offset: definition?
I was looking for an explanation WHY there offset end of sentence? why not have all 4 equal whats the purpose of offsetting in the first place ? if they'd install equal A-Arms all wheels would be perfect no?
The Traxxas Slash 2WD is the only truck that doesn't use the same offset on all 4 wheels.
@@RazorRC The slash 2wd has an offset correct? if so Im asking why whats the offset for? is it help with over steer or something? Im confused, I noticed RPM sells specific A-Arms for the 2wd slash to compensate the offset so you can use all 4 matching wheels?
HKGuy Snowman#1 every Traxxas 2wd has narrower front arms compared to the back arms. Rustler, Bandit, Stampede, Slash. Why? ‘Cause they suck.
Nevermind lol
And of course there is the Senton 3s, which is marked as 3.9mm..
I didn't cover any of the other hex sizes, only 12mm. Senton 3S is 14mm, Senton 6S is 17mm, and there are other weird sizes like the Durango which uses 15mm and I think there are some 13mm trucks. ☹️
Wheels and tires do you recommend for the Senton 6s?
What I don't get about sc wheels Is the inside is miles bigger than the outside.
It was originally for knuckle clearance on the Traxxas Slayer which used a much larger knuckle from the Revo. Using a 2.2 outer diameter retains the scale look and the 3.0 inner diameter accommodates the large hubs.
@@justinbarber8332 interesting. To me it always looks silly and not scale at all.really puts me off them tbh
Good info, but your thumb nails wtf?
Not a single Arrma mention. Were there no Sentons made 5 years ago? I guess that might explain it, hehe.
OH MY FUCKING GOD, I HATE GOOGLE'S USELESS SEARCH SYSTEM! I don't GODDAMN care what the offsets are. WHY ARE SCT WHEELS SO STUPID WITH THE FAKE 2.2 THING AND THE 3.0 BARREL DIAMETER!?
The word “basically’’ ruins your entire channel
