Is super common to play "altinha" in Brazil, people play on the streets, parks, beaches, under their apartaments....all the time, that's why they get so good, is like dancing, most people do it since they are abble to walk here haha, like in schools, a lot of gym classes people play futebol. Actuallly any sport or outside activities are very socially accepted by our culture. Brazilians are normally very active and social comparing to most countries. So people will only complain about you doing something outside if is dangerous(like kidsor pets playing close to busy lanes) or too loud late at night. And the loud part is only if is during monday to friday since people have to go to work, during the weekend you can even play loud music late at night too and rarelly people will care.

"Comparing to most countries" that means that measuring to what is normal in "most"(If you get confuse with that word again, go back to the first explanation.) places there is a considerably larger number of people that do. :)

Para o brasileiro qualquer coisa é bola, uma pedra na rua, uma latinha de refrigerante, uma tampinha de garrafa, a habilidade do brasileiro não é moldada por treinos repetidos mas sim por entender desde criança como posicionar o corpo na hora de dominar, driblar, tocar e finalizar. Algo tão natural como é jogar basquete, futebol americano e baseball nos EUA.

I'm Brazilian and we were raised like that. Since we were children, we've played on the street, on the beach, anywhere. Skill comes naturally. That's why it's difficult to understand someone wanting to teach football. And we think it's normal when a player demonstrates skill in an official game. It's part of our culture.
Yes, i always laugh on internet when they do tutorials of movements, they try to memorize by steps. It's the wrong way. The thing should flow, the kids should be close to the ball, domain it and use the imagination.

It's quite stereotypical to say we were raised like that. It's more of a highly contextual thing than an overspread cultural aspect of our country. In the general sense, knowing football is part of our culture. Playing it is another story altogether.
@@DiogenesMota i don't know how old are you, but it was not a stereotype until 2000s, it was true. No mater where i go in this country, the kids were playing, it was really massive in everywhere, in special in poor places, believe us, we was there. Was a different time, without internet, the main fun for kids was a bal, like the cellphone is today, and was a huge tradition by several generations. The majority of us brazilians raised like that for decades.

É esse tipo de futebol que está faltando na nossa seleção nacional. Infelizmente, os nossos melhores jogadores vão muito cedo para os times europeus e esquecem como jogar o futebol que aprenderam nas ruas do Brasil. Ótimo vídeo! Boa noite.
Não esquecem n, eles simplesmente não são permitidos de usar mais, ou tu se esqueceu do que aconteceu com o Neymar quando ele chegou no Barça? Apanhava mais que tudo. Ou quando ele levou amarelo por driblar? O cara tem que mudar o estilo de jogo quando chega lá.

football is in our culture, we play it everywhere. it is very common for good players not to reach professional football due to lack of opportunities. it's not very rare to find players as skilled as Neymar. the difference is that less than 1% manage to play professionally.

Second video is about FUTSAL, short for FUTEBOL DE SALÃO, literally translated as BALLROOM FOOTBALL and meaning INDOOR SOCCER.
The FUTSAL field is not made of grass or synthetic. FUTSAL is played in a basketball sized court, usually made of cement but professionally made with the same material of a basketball court. The FUTSAL ball is smaller and heavier, so hard kicks usually hurts a lot if you're hit by them. Due to the smaller room for dribbles and plays, usually FUTSAL players tend to do more creative stuff, and is usually translated to the football pitch, as in the player being REALLY SKILLED IN BALL CONTROL AND DRIBBLING.
A lot of pitch football players used to play FUTSAL as kids, and a lot of coaches use FUTSAL as a way to train passing, positioning, spacing, ball control and dribbling for pitch football, despite being considered a different sport in itself (like table tennis is for tennis).

Thank you for this video. Your reactions to it were perfect and very fun to watch. Now, about the "only path to avoid poverty" thing, it's simply not true. But yeah, in many places and poor communities here in Brazil football gives you the chance for a better life, sure, but it's far from being the only path. But at the same time, yes, the majority of people here loves football. It's been a cultural and sports passion for centuries, so many many people think of it as a carrer. It's just not (by far) the only one.

12:05 You're spot on with your observation. While football is indeed a national sport, it is much stronger on the southeast region, especially Rio de Janeiro. It's there that major opportunities are more available to youth. Government has made efforts to use all kinds of sports as a means to improve the lives of marginalized people, but its effectiveness is still very limited.
As for other regions, brazilians love moving and other sports may be much more prevalent than football in certain regions. I'm from a coastal city in the northwest and our sports are majorly beach volley, surfing and swimming. Skating has grown up a lot in later years in larger cities, and gymnastics, athletics and body building are very common everywhere.
Na real, o governo do Rio nunca fez nada de útil e nem a prefeitura. A maioria da gurizada que tem talento vão pras categorias de base dos maiores times do Rio, lá n tem um dedo do governo pq se o brasileiro depender do governo pra ganhar na vida, NUNCA VAI SAIR DO CANTO.

I see mostly every sigle day , i moved to Brazil Rio de Janeiro almost a year ago , I have futbol in my blod due I was born in South America, but I moved to the States many many many years ago , where I live there's a volleyball field a d a mini Football field , and the see people playing , I'm so amazes the quality from every player men or a women , i was recording and I stll do and later on i send the videos to my brother and sister in Florida , if they are not playing they are trinning . Brazil is always been in my heart , because of the way the play this beautiful game , Pele and Ronaldinho are my favorite Futbol players ❤⚽️

I`m from Brazil. Most children from Brazil play football as their first sport.
This ball controll showed in video started in brazilian beaches. The name of this is FootVolley (Football + Volleyball). The name of this sport is the union of these two words.
In the beach, this game, the footvolley, is played as a beach volleyball, with a net, and two players at each side of net, but using feet. I mean, you can`t use hands.
But most brazilians children don`t play footvolley and haven`t this huge ball controll. A few children controll ball like that.
Yes I know so cool! Footvolley has been getting more popular all over Europe :)
As a brazillian i never really understood groing up why people from other places would say Football it's in our genes untill i went to the US a couple of years ago and played Soccer with some friends there, and they would say like "omg u are soo good at this", and i'm not really into Football/Soccer, i'm more a Skateboard/Surf guy myself but also playled a lot of Football as a kid, only then a reallized that all those years playing when a child made all the diference, it is just normal for us who grew up playing with some garbage ball to play Football i guess

Os melhores, então, por muitas vezes não são aprovados, perdendo a vaga pra filho de barão (que tem dinheiro)... É por isso que o Brasil não vai indo tão bem... é devido às suas escolhas... Abraço!

Foot Volley was invented in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1960. Mixing beach Volley and Footbal (soccer) due to Rio's beach culture.
I guess theres no way to understand that futebol is EVERYTHING here in Brazil, I mean everything... I dont even like futebol, but Ive played it all my school days, you can only really get away from futebol when you become an adult lol, even then you better still have a favorite team and know whats going on in the national pro league, futebol will be like minimum 25% of every small talk with people here. I was a boy that grew up playing for fun on streets. It was massive in the past. Today it still happen, but with social media and internet we have less kids doing this. And the clubs of Brazil don't give value to this type of thing anymore, they adopted tatics and robotic limited style, they just give value to the coach instead the players, today we only have Neymar capable to play in our natural style. I'm very sad with brazilian professionals football today, on the streets of Brazil, you can find Ronaldinhos, Neymars, etc, in anywhere, but they will not have chance, just play for fun for the rest of their lives, and have a regular job, while we see horrible professional players on TV.
This is more about freestyle, there a lot of different skills. Like me, I’m goalkeeper(futsal), probably I’ve skills that a freestyle player doesn’t. But everyone has skill in their blood. But yeah, it’s incredible and satisfactory to watch it hehe. ANDDD, Imma sleep in love today 😅

Existe um local aqui no RJ, que se não me engano eles praticam freestyle nos finais de semana na parte da noite ( Estação de Trem Engenho de Dentro).
No futuro essa moça vai jogar futebol, ela tem boas referências e pelo jeito ela ama jogar futebol, a única diferença é que nós brasileiros já crescemos jogando bola desde criança então e natural que nós tenha tanta habilidade com a bola, mais isso é questão de prática e força de vontade um ótimo exemplo é o Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lady, when the cops pulled you over cuz you were riding your bike with your headphones on, they´re doing it for your own safety but mostly for the safety of others. Yes you can hear with your headphones, but it could be dangerous. You could distract yourself with a part you really love in the music and cause an accident or whatever. It´s really really dangerous... at least wear an ear piece and it´s always recommended that you wear only one, so you have the other ear completely free to listen fully to the enviroment around you. Anyway... just pointing that out hehehe. Thanks for reacting! Be safe!
I know u mean well, but I hear all traffic when listening to music. Cyclists rarely cause accidents, it’s the people in the cars who are distracted by everything music, passengers, phone, navigation. Cycling requires already much awareness by moving your body. They should leave me alone and focus on the real problem.

for a poor kid, being discovered by a scout is a social ascenscion chance. And differennt from USA, this scouts aren't from colleges but from rofessional teams which keep under 16, under 18 and under 20 teams. It is like Chicago Fire sent their souts to watch kids playing at inter school chmpionship or they kept soccer camps/academies with the single purpose to prepare their next stars

Street football happens in Europe too. I grew up in England and we were always playing football in the street, down the park anywhere not unique to Brazil.

Just a side note, the Futsal ball is way harder than the Football one, so it hurts way more than the regular ball. I once took one to the eye and I though I was going to get blind 🤣
