I’ve only seen the British version and I love it! I’d be hard pressed to imagine what the US version might be like! I can well imagine that the Belgian version is brilliant!❤🇨🇦
I have never seen the original or the US version..
Having said that, I totally enjoy this gentleman in this role..I remember him from ' Death in Paradise'... he was perfect! Missed him when he chose to leave the series...worse that his character was killed...it felt so real..
So happy to see him in character again!
I agree that the US is severely behind in normalizing foreign programming. My fellow Americans seem to be extremely lazy when it comes to reading subtitles. I’m not sure why. They’re missing out on some great French, German, Nordic noir etc series. Having said that, as a fan of the original Prof T, i’m loving the British version after two episodes. It’s different and not as funny but I’m still finding it highly entertaining. I still stand by what I said about foreign programming. We’ve all been to school we should have no problem reading subtitles, which can be enlarged, bolded, neon-colored, etc. It’s 2021. We’ve embraced globalism on so many other levels, it’s high time to invite entertainment content to the globalization party. But I enjoy both versions of Professor T.
i don't want to read subtitles
@@grandadcrypto exactly. As I said, laziness & weedfried grey matter, uniquely American 🙄
I hardly watch any American tv's shows, so most of the things I do watch has subtitles (do watch British shows though). I don't care for remakes either but I might give this one a try
@@grandadcrypto after awhile you forget you are even reading, the brain just takes over
I think calling Americans lazy for not wanting to read subtitles is a bit…assholish. Many Americans don’t really watch tv exclusively. Many Americans have it on but are working while it’s on. You can’t read and work. I keep tv on while I study and while I work on reports or reading email for my job. I’m not exclusively sitting down and watching. I like foreign movies when I have the time. It’s not my go-to.
How does this version compare to the Belgian one? I really enjoyed that and am wondering if this has the same vibe
I think the UK & US needs to revisit normalizing non-English-speaking programming.
But even for English language programs....i dont want Mayim Bialik in Call Me Kat, if Miranda exists. Thankfully Kirstie Alley's Mistress of Divinity never materialized when the vicar of dibley was understandable. Same for Brighton Belles when Golden Girls was in the same language.
Then again, I loved All in the Family and Sanford and Son so...maybe my point is moot.
I am so dissapointed of the outcome of the season 3 finale, that I will not see season 4. Its not fair. Without Donckers there is no reason for me to continue to watch this series. Sorry
I found this UK version lacking. I loved the Belgian ( original) version. The Belgian version is more enigmatic and funny without trying to be funny.
Is this the same like the series from Belgium “Professor T”?
Yes. And German adaptation. But the Belgian one is the original.
It is a subpar version of the Belgian version. It is better to watch the original in the original dialog. Learn new language along the way. This didn’t capture the true essence of Professor T.
