      @420portals wouldn't be possible if you know how ai works. At least 80% wouldn't be ai, and you wouldn't want it to be anyways, you want human artists to be the ones to do it after all you don't hire artists just so they do what you tell them. There's a reason art directors junior and senior artists exist and concept artists etc.
      Also depends what part you even mean, coding is the most likley. Ai doing anything besides coding and texturse will not happen fir like 50 years if il being generous. 3d assets are way to complicated for ai. Topology, UV's, I could go on every part of 3D is way too technical and even artistic for AI. Which sucks because no one likes retopologizing, no one would turn down AI doing that for them.

    Hey Inters3ct, I am an Arthur main too. It has been my favorite God since I played him for the first time, but over the years, with the changes in the game, some things about him started to feel less good and fun, like building and late game. So, because of this, I thought of some things that, with Smite2, should be possible, and I hope not too difficult to implement.
    These are the improvements I've thought of so far:
    Starting with the 3 (combo): I think you should be able to press mouse2. So, after you do, Arthur finishes the spin he is already in and then does the big spin. For example, you did 2 spins and pressed mouse2, continued with the third spin, but right after that, it does the big one without doing the fourth and fifth. This change could improve his late game, allowing you to do pretty good damage in less time. You receive way less damage in exchange for doing less damage yourself. Also, this can improve PVE because quite a few times you use the 3 even though the minion doesn't have that much HP, but you do it because hitting 3 autos is way slower, xd. And etc. I believe this change helps in quite a few cases.
    And that brings me to the improvement of the 2 (combo): Pressing mouse2 cancels the dash, but not the knockup and the damage. I think it doesn't need much explanation, better PVE.
    Finally, the 1 (combo): Holding mouse1 makes Arthur charge the attack for a bit, hitting on a larger area and a percentage of the ability damage harder, but losing the cripple effect. I don't want this improvement to be a plain buff, but I think this change is pretty fair and fun; you may even call it exchange, heheh. The way I imagine this ability should work is this: since all of Arthur's abilities are in instant casting, pressing the 1 always initiates the attack, but holding it until Arthur is about to slash makes him stay in that position for half a second or so (the exact amount of time requires testing) and then attack. I think this change should improve both PVE and PVP.
    All these changes are on the Combo stance, which should also give the stance a more tangible reason for its name. Would love to hear what you think about these improvements. Hope you read this :)

    I am still excited for this game because it looks incredible. I probably will get the founders pack for it because I've been playing Smite since Season 3 at this point and the first thing I bought when I decided I liked it was the god pack. I only have four Tier 5's (Ullr, Kukulkan, Bellona and Ares) and seeing them in Smite 2 would be really cool. Frostfire Ullr's magma cape would look sick for example. Also knowing that old skins can be bought entirely with Legacy Gems does actually make my view on that lighten up a little since I know I complained about it on the announcement video. I'm glad to hear it's not just half price everything and nothing else. Can't wait to build ADC Ares and finally get some use out of that auto attack damage buff he got in Season 10.

    If normal skins are said to be 2 months of work imagine a t5. Smite 2 would use completely different textures, animations, lighting, special effects, model changes. Do all of that for every t5 skin multiple times accounting for all the stance changes/ level up changes and that would easily eat up months of work. t5 take months of work, porting them over is essential just telling them do years worth of work in one year while building an entire new game. It is a massive loss with no gains and puts unbelievable time constraints on the devs, who are already worked enough making an entire new game. It is easy to for us to see it an nothing more then " just port it" but it is not that easy. Quality games take time. Smite 1 had a decade of work put in, you can't just push a magic button and put 10 years worth of content into another game. We gave smite 10 years to get where it is, why are players hating on the smite 2 when we haven't even given a single second of time before doom posting about it. Not tallking about intersect just obxnois doom posting fans all over this other wise great news.

  • @AimbotFreak
    @AimbotFreak Před 7 měsíci +1

    The 100% legacy gems thing was only added after the outrage, they wasted 2 days defending the original 50% coupon. Hirez specifically said that they wouldn't be porting any skins which is what most people took issue with, as they were showing themselves literally porting recolours as part of the event legacy bundle and that they would be showing their appreciation through the 50% coupon which the legacy gems represented(which is what makes those gems a cashgrab). No one also expected all 1600 skins to be ported. A big portion of those 1600 skins are recolours. T2's, Shadow skins, Ascended skins and recolours of T3's and T4's, probably the actual number of skins present in the game once we take all of these out its about 800+- actual skins, which is a lot still, but not as much also it goes down given that they won't be porting all characters. Pretty much everyone is fine with only 1 skin per a god release being ported over. Other point people were taking issue is the claim of how long it would take them to do it while constantly showing off how fast UE5 lets them make things, including certain skins. The main selling point in UE4-5-6 for developers is how much they can achieve for a lot less time which makes it also extremely cheaper without boosting the PC requirements by much making the games still very accessible.

    From what player testers are saying it just feels like smite with better graphics, sure it’s in “alpha” but they need to prioritize all new animations and more ability reworks and tweaks to majority of gods. The whole skin debacle sound like a classic Hi-Rez move to drum up controversy to get more eyes on Smite 2. Also why is it hard for a studio, that netted 300 million dollars in 2023, to port over all 1600 skins? I'm very familiar with the process of transferring 3D models over and the fact that TitanForge wants Smite2 to have a consistent look, but a company netting that amount of money can definitely afford the resources and time it takes to port them all over. Season 7 - current season skins just need their effects, Albedos, and materials remade which should take only a couple of hours. Now I am familiar that current Smite models run off of a different file type, but converting it in Blender takes no time (Though I believe TF is worried about model info getting lost in the process which is a fair, but still doable if they commission a group of 3D artists to work on skins).
    While Skins are a lesser issue that could've been worded and handled better, the 50 percent discount, item shop changes, and the total facial reconstruction of every goddesses is a greater slap to the core communities face.

      @@HugeConverse That is not what's happening.
      You paid for those skins in Smite 1, used them, and supported the game. Smite had 10 years of continual support on an engine that is almost old enough to vote and is full of jank legacy code that can't be easily removed.
      They then reinvested in the IP (which is what the playerbase literally wanted, mind you) off of that support, and are giving every gem back to you as a legacy currency since UE5 is quite literally entirely different than UE3 which is why they can't port every skin easily. You can use that legacy currency for 50% off of NEW content, and then you can also use that currency to get 100% off whenever they eventually port skins. And, in addition to this, you get 1 free T4 skin for every year you have played Smite. Other games do LESS than this!
      You are not entitled to getting free stuff for years on end in the new game. They're working on a Zeus T5 that is exclusively made with UE5, do you think you should be able to get that for free with legacy gems?
      They could just be like Blizzard and give you nothing. Or they could be like Respawn and completely abandon the IP to chase the battle royale genre. Or they could be like EA and abandon the IP for a game that will have the reputation for having the worst game launch ever. Or they could be like Bungie, and charge you for everything even remade content. Or they could be like the IPs that make yearly games and remove cosmetics year after year. TitanForge is easily one of the better studios, making the ENTIRE game from scratch to support it on a new engine while making it significantly better so that you can complain about skins in 3 years rather than the game actually dying, and you're talking about "how is it fair" because you're not 100% reimbursed for the money that you consciously spent.
      People are 100% looking into this skin stuff and cringing at these reactions. My LoL friends think the whole "we're not getting 100% reimbursed and they should port every skin >:(" take is hilariously entitled.

    Remaking the Tier 5 skins in UE5 is not happening for 2 reasons. 1. Out of all skins, the first UE5 tier 5 is going to look amazing and bring in a LOAD of money. They aren't going to want to bring in the old ones, make them look even more insane over 2 months, then give them for free. 2. They probably want to make T5 skins in UE5 even more special. Giving everyone these skins that basically change the god itself, is unrealistic. Cthulhu T5 is a great example as it changes everything, which means they have to remake a UE5 cartoon version, having completely different animations and interactions. That's like a new god.
    I could seem them porting the legacy T5 skins back maybe 3-4 years from now during a throwback event where you get to purchase legacy T5 skins with legacy credits

  • @Akwatypus
    @Akwatypus Před 7 měsíci +6

    Good, sensible takes, well worded.
    I'm having an optimistic feeling that the T5s and Unlimiteds will be looked into. I just wouldn't expect news of them before the full release. And 100% Legacy Gems for those do seem fair... but we'll see: maybe for the Unlimiteds that could be the case, but some schenanigans might be ahead with the Limited ones... People have bought those in charity events for like 1000 dollars hard cash. If not handled carefully, it could get messy!
    100% Legacy Gem God Pack seems like an interesting idea too. I'm not expecting this though, they could go stating that the roster is already becoming different and stuff like that. But we'd better find out more about this before the Founder's Packs become available.
    As for the item system, I'm interested to see where it goes. I've often wished that Smite's item systems would offer proper trade-offs to go with different gameplay strategies, instead of the quest for "having it all". There are interesting balancing options opening up!

      The issue isn't that people want to stay on a old version/engine of Smite, its just the way they went about it. Imagine spending money on the last couple crossover battle passes (Avatar, Transformers, etc) and they just come and say "yeah thanks for the money but we're going to shut that down soon and make you pay double from what you paid the first time. tough luck buddy" and that's just the battlepasses and that's not including 1k skin(s). With Smite 2, they should've have announced it way earlier and stop making gods and cut back on the skins 10 fold to work on Smite 2. ya know, actually porting Gods and skins instead giving a bs excuse as why they can't port/remake skins that already hit their profit quota. i mean if you feel like you can spend 1k on a fleeting (and soon expiring) game, i would gladly take that from you

    • @CascadenTV
      @CascadenTV Před 7 měsíci +1

      I have not spent 1k on Smite. Even if I did have that disposable income to do so I probably wouldn't but I'm not shaming anyone that would or does. Did you not get your gems at that time? Did you not play the game at that time? People spend 1k going to Disneyland for 1 day and leave with nothing but experiences and memoires. I also wouldn't do that but I wont shame them for it. What wouldn't make sense to me is spending 1k on a service, receiving that service, then complaining about the service not lasting forever. Maybe you have a point about cutting back the monetization towards the official announcement of Smite 2, however, did Titan Force stop updates? No. Did they shut down servers? No. Their service is still up and running and in fact their employee are probably working harder than ever keeping up with Smite 1 while some people and workload is being shifted to Smite 2. I guess they all deserve less because you're upset at your own choices around purchases?@@eternalpunishment3922

    All things consider I have a lot of hope for smite 2. For me it is pretty much what I was expecting/wanting which is a full engine update and at least some port over from smite. I like the legacy gem idea since they sound like a good reward for the extensive time put into smite. It sounds like they will also have both games running at least for some period of time rather then slapping on the new game and saying "tough luck". Obviously smite 2 will take a lot of getting used to especially the new item system, but it sounds fine and I am willing to give it a try. The skins and gods missing will be a massive bummer for sure, but realistically I was expecting this to happen. Sure it sucks, but they sound committed to adding most of the gods over time and at least some to most of the skins will be there. Transition skins is also a nice touch for me. The league change is also a bit of a tough pill to swallow after such a great SWC, but overall sounds like the better direction to go. Also as a wishlist for smite 2, please revert Persephone to some extent and erlang. Surely with a new engine and lessons learned they can get it right this time, at least I would like to hope.

    • @Chris-87
      @Chris-87 Před 7 měsíci

      I agree with Erlang, but Persephone is completely fine aside from some bugs. Her passive isn't that great but her abilities are very strong if you know how to play her. Her issues as a Perse main is her passive and 3 are still glitched. The 3 sometimes still goes forward when you're holding back, much like what happens with Rama sometimes. Her passive is bugged sometimes when you back where the gold infinitely rings and doesn't stop until you die. Those aspects are annoying. However, her actual abilities are very annoying to deal with and she has some of the best burst in the game, even for a mage. Ult is perfect and low cd. 3 is overall good. Her 2 is harder to dodge compared to old Perse. You used to be able to run toward it and juke left and it did nothing. Now you drop it near tower line and auto it when it sprouts, taking up the entire lane lol. If they close up on you, ult, 2, 1, and 3 away and if they're a squishy they die without defense. If they have defense, your teammates should instantly finish them. You can still just drop them and heal. I personally level the plants first over the 1, because the drop/explosion damage increases with level, the poke damage increases, and the amount of plants that can be kept increases. If you upgrade her 1 first, she'll probably feel worse I'd imagine. Her passive is not very useful, but her old passive was just busted. I'm not sure how they can fix that aspect of her without making her too strong for every player. Right now, in the hands of a master, she's one of the absolutely most annoying gods to play against. Not sure at sub master ranks or casually though.

      My thing with Persephone is that she is strong but just as frustrating if not more so after the rework and just not fun to play. The rework feels like it stripped her unique qualities as a character with nothing in return. Her passive should not come back, just have it give gold or drop a minor team buff, maybe. The problem is her 2 went from such a cool planning tool with unique play around dodging the plants, to “put here or send through wall”. That’s mostly what bums me out. Cool that you still enjoy her, I just really do miss what she once had.

    In regards to active items, I've never played league or smite BUT I have played Wild Rift(mobile league) and I really liked how they handeled the system. They had a dedicated slot to the "active" component of items and removed the other stats. For example, they removed the stats from protobelt and kept its dash. They did the same for zhonyas, gargoyle, redemption and even made some new ones. I figure if they want to reduce some item comexity they could go this route but these 2 games are quite different.

    Especially in a game that has a lot of bs to fluff the chests. Jump stickers, avatars, back skins, fountain skins. etc.
    I also have a lot of crap i don't want to make sure if something new comes out i'm not fishing for it out of 20-100 other items.
    I'm not really a fan of the new itemization. I don't play league or Dota2 for a reason lol. It was a nice uniqueness smite has, but it's probably better for balancing overall. Although... I'll never be a fan of CritYmir. Or Crit Fat Loki.
    If they open up a Legacy store where we can direct purchase skins that would be dope, and if we can use Legacy Gems to purchase future content then I may still give the game a go.
    But... $60 for just a God pack and 1k Gems is crazy. The only thing relevant in those packs are the skins for Bellona and... Noot and the Gems. The Divine Legacy booster, if that's just an account booster that's just useless.
    But the Ultimate God Pack doesn't say (All 130 gods and future gods) like the original one does. I know Hi rez wants people to buy the Seasonal passes which does basically the same thing but also provides an ascendant skin for each new god. $30 a season for a few purple themed recolors. I just don’t like the secondary relic change thats now being replaced by active items. Its the main thing that makes me dislike League when I do play. Say you want Aegis but its only on a specific item’s active that only gives int and you are playing a Hunter thats building on Strength you are now locked out of getting that effect since the item is ultimately useless on you.
    I’m glad everyone gets beads but removing the secondary relic is really disappointing. It will lead to feeling cheated by an item rather than a player’s skill or timing when choosing/utilizing a relic in a fight.

    Didnt Pon say that most tier 5 skins have unique tech that would have to be totally remade in UE 5 that makes it harder to port over.

    In some defense of the switch (even though it's old by now and we need a current gen console for it) the smite port in general was incredibly unoptimized to the point I assume they basically just kept it the exact same game with no bug fixes or anything extra
    While it is true that in recent years you can't access conquest because it would instacrash, that only became a problem with year 10 (even though you could still access conquest in bots, so could be my own problem with wifi but oh well). About just before or after Maman's release is when conquest became unplayable in both bots and normal play, although weirdly you could load in in bots before it instacrashed (my theory being they overloaded the map with details that are basically useless)
    Other problems are the game crashing because I got in a match too fast, or the game crashes because I exited the win screen too fast, or the game freezing mid-match because I opened the leaderboard at the same time as jumping/dying, hell even opening the Colorforge event menu was able to crash your game if you went through the categories too fast
    Other games in UE5 can run on switch pretty well, so really I could hope smite 2 on switch could happen maybe a year or so down the line with a full release even with a low graphics setting (which smite 1 already forced you on)
    Like I get it's easy to dog on the switch (and yeah it should be dogged on), I don't think it's right to put the whole blame on the switch when HiRez made a really shitty port

    The spaghetti code of Smite 1 and its incredibly outdated engine has held it back for years. I think this is an important leap forward, and I want to see it succeed.

    I have 2 concerns for Smite2 and im hoping im just over thinking it. 1. is the store. When the new UI came out, the store was absolutely horrid for console use. Even using it now and knowing what items you want, youll still come out of base way after game start. Hopefully its more simple and straight forward than what it looks like. 2. is the new item system. Its really cool with the actives within items and magic and physical both being on items and every god can use both now. However balancing this is gonna be more in depth and we all know how bad hirez is at balancing. The actives alone is gonna place a huge skill gap between pc and controller if we can have more than one or two of them. Now items in general i dont know how they will balance. Once heavy hitting mages come out like scylla, volcan, shell, etc. They have access to crit now. So prepare for 2.5k scylla puddles and 5k volcan ults. Balancing crit to keep hunters/assassins in the game but not to let mages runaway with it will be hard without bloating the hell out of items to work differently per god class. Im worried and can easily see smite 2 being a constant season 10 of an entire class of gods being absolutely useless to compete in their rolls.

    • @deathghost65
      @deathghost65 Před 7 měsíci

      I've been playing Smite since PC beta, im also worried about crit because early days of smite 4k constant crits were a thing. I first mained Loki and would always 1 shot anyone that's not a tank. Most games I would get around 25-30 kills. Also, i don't think mages will be able to crit since even physical gods can't ability crit unless stated so like Mercury's 1. And current Smite 1 items have more stats than Smite 2. Smite 2 items from what I've seen have either:
      -2 stats (1 big stat and 1 tiny tiny stat or 2 stats broken evenly) with a passive. -4 or 5 stats but no passive. -1 or 2 semi low stats with a ability.

    As someone that mainly plays League but also dabbles into Smite on occasion, it's really amusing to me that the new item system is basically the exact same as League. It makes sense, because imo having two entirely separate pools of items for different classes of gods is a lot more difficult to learn as a new player, but also I did think that system was kinda unique.

    Gameplay is king, legacy gems is more than fair and they didn't even have to do that at all. All I care about is how item building will work. Tired of supports and warriors building straight defense and doing more damage than a mage or carry.. plus being unkillable. Shit is braindead. Hopefully more older gods get reworked slowly as they get ported to Smite2.

      The roadmap is a bit more lenient. The early Alpha will start in the spring, which I've heard is only open for one weekend per month at first. And mid-late 24 they're still only moving on to Beta. Full launch is "TBD". Smite 1 was in Beta for about two years. S2 will probably have a shorter Beta time though.

    I can understand the frustration with skins etc (theres a lot of gods I have every skin for) but at the same time they haven't said they aren't going to just "erase" all Smite 1 skins from Smite 2...
    I just hope Hi-Rez don't promise their fanbase so much and then offer so little, a bit like Overwatch 1 and 2.

    Smite 2 would be cool if it was just a rebranding of Smite like CS2 was for CSGO. Better graphics but added gameplay mechanics and a way to feel that your live service to the game stayed intact. Dota All-Stars and Dota 2 were at the same until a certain point. They had the same balance, they had the same heros with some missing in Dota 2 because they were still being implemented, then All-Stars wasn't updated anymore because Dota 2 was the way you played Dota. I find it funny that Dota All-Stars stopped updated at the Troll Warlord/Sniper patch. Although I do believe this should've just been an update branded as Smite 2. Engine change, gameplay mechanics majorly overhauled. Which is why I come back to CS2. CS2 isn't CS2, but it might as well be. It took the environment we know but expanded on it with a new updated engine. Everyone's skin in CS2 looks better and is implemented and there's plenty. Hell the beta for CS2 crashed the skin market, but I guess that's what separated Smite from Dota and CS. They have a market to sell their skins which makes Valve money in the end run. No trading economy in Smite made it worthless to even care about porting all skins, because they make no money off it. It's free to play after all, and who knows what changes they make to characters wholesale could make them have to make new animation sets which cost money. They're not Valve working on their own engine which I get, but they're working with the same engine which could give them some leeway to update it to the new engine. I certainly feel like they don't give a single shit about what people spent on their live service game. They just don't want to drop profits on their rebranding because they don't have the money to.
    Another Hi-Rez fail because they bought Tribes to turn it into shit, they made a BR because of the market that failed, then SMITE actually has a following but it declined, so they felt the need to rebrand.
    Wanna know why LoL and Dota don't need to rebrand? It's because they have ways of spending your money that might turn into your benefit, which gains them money, which gains you benefits. Smite just lets you buy skins and characters that should be accessible from the start like Dota 2. League has the same but now it has Xbox Game Pass so spending 10 dollars a month (or 1 dollar if you're smart) nets you every champion. The game might be getting new features and better graphics, but why care if what you have isn't saved? CS2 IS FREE. CS2 also keeps your data from CSGO intact, implements a better world editor, and keeps your hard spent money intact.
    There's no reason for Hi-Rez to keep fucking us as a community, but only for monetary gain. They killed a popular FPS. They made a BR game that sucked shit and money from us. They created a shit-tier "Moba" that defined classes instead of letting characters be multi-viable, unlike other Mobas.
    I like SMITE, but the balancing is like League with the structuring of Dota in a TPS landscape. It has always been an amalgamation of the genres. As a Moba it's subpar to both, and I don't mean combined. I started with SC2 and meandered my way to Dota. Then League. Then SMITE. SMITE is leagues behind, pun unintended. Like I said before, it's the balancing of league, with the nuances of Dota, in a completely different perspective from both. The game was a cash grab from the start.

    I'm gonna get some heat here but the bigger crossover event skins should get ported along with T5. Not only does it allow players to buy their old content back, it drains the pool of legacy gems encouraging players to buy more gems increasing revenue. From a business standpoint it makes sense.

    My biggest wish for smite 2 is some more freedom in custom matches. I have a larger than average friend group that plays smite and we often find ourselves doing in house custom conquest matches. But it would be a lot of fun if we could do some sort of free for all game mode on the conquest map or maybe even revisiting the Medusa 3v3v3 map if that’d be doable but I think adding more to the custom games

    Look, I know a lot of people have an issue with the skins not going over and gems thing and I fully get it. For me, this game looks AMAZING and I love that it’s getting this update. But I feel like this will make or break the game. There is no “Minecraft 2” or “League of Legends 2” because there’s no need for it. They overhaul the game as is! If the devs worked on updating the game to unreal behind the scenes and built it 90%, no one would mind them doing a huge update for like season 12 or 13. Getting someone to go fully over to another game is a real big problem. You want new players but you’re spitting on old/dedicated players.
