It's insane to me that Tokyo is not a world leader in segregated bicycle infrastructure. I can't think of many large cities anywhere in the world that are as perfectly suited for a car lite/free lifestyle.
TBH I'm not really into bike lanes for serious commuting anyway. I prefer regular roads with still objects on the side and moving objects in the middle.
