In the late 60s, early 70s lucite furniture was very popular. I found a designer bar cart by the garbage one day here, and found out it's worth about $800-1000 in the shape it's in.
My mom got a $2,000 handmade dresser from the garbage that only had a pretty small wood crack which she repaired and gave to someone else as a gift. My mom will take things and revamp them like that so they get a new home. I got a barbie dollhouse worth $100 to remodel because it was going to be thrown out. I thought I could fix it up with my skills so that I could display the mini things I make in it.
@@izoraiza7169 I do that with baby items, because there are so many young girls that can't afford all that stuff. I'll check to see if it's been recalled, and if it's o.k., I'll clean it up and give it away.

It had a free to take sign on it. She couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a home with someone who can't afford a carseat or stroller. We got a $2000 vintage claw foot tub from a dump and it was 100% cast iron. We sold it though sadly. We were dropping off garbage and saw it and couldn’t pass it up. No judgement lol. It had to be refinished though.

Something to be aware of with this stand, and turntables. You might consider investing in isolation vibration base for your turntable. Walking on your wooden floors may cause your stylus to jump or bounce. I say this as a precaution as well as way to preserve your vinyl. There are simple and elaborate options to provide you with avoiding your cartridge from skipping. Also when buying new vinyl see if it is 180gms. It’s thicker and has deeper grooves for better audio frequency a great cartridge will capture, and also clean your vinyl each time you play them.
I've been looking for a freebie version of that table!! I found a cheap wooden one for 69.99 but I'm to cheap for even that! I want to get a table like that, so I can "slide" it down the side of the chaise lounge on the couch and use it as a end table, computer stand. I would want it there because there is no other way to have an end table there!
It's fine to store your vinyl records lying down. The record snobs will say it messes up the groves, but in fact the only risk is sagging. The center of the disk all the way to the run out is designed to hold the weight of the discs lying down. The groves won't touch. If you leave them in one position for longer periods of time they will sag and you'll get more up and down movement on your record as it spins, this isn't even noticable on a single disc, you need a dozen or more discs sitting in one place for the sag distance to become noticeable. Standing them up also has draw backs. You get flat spots and you can actually crash the outer grove, assuming you don't use your discs and just have them for a collection.
this, and standing them up can actually warp them over time. i unfortunately found this out with both of my record players (my first one broke somehow, still can't figure it out). i can tell you i have plenty of vinyls, and a good 2 or 3 of them are warped because of standing up straight.
that's what they're fucking called, the dude needs to be left alone. i have 10 vinyls, and i have let all of them lay flat. i've heard everyone call them records or vinyls. i even call them both.
When your album collect grows, try not to group more than 5 vinyls together. As when you slide them out they rub and the more their are the more weight and friction it creates. This is why many album covers have record shaped ware marks on the jackets. From being slid in and out or ablums adjacent to it.
I can let you know that you can remove most superficial scratches on perspex. I have many artworks that are framed in perspex and this works!!.... use toothpaste and apply on surface with a sponge and with pressure rub all over ...rinse.
