- Chris Turpin of Ida Mae needed a new tool. He had an idea for a 12 string Mavis and I was sold. We added a twist - a soundboard back. The resonator cone cavity is exposed to the back creating a thicker sound with a ton of volume.

Just saw a post that Chris Turpin and Jake Kiska have created a band together. I am so excited for this collaboration!! The music & songs that are waiting to be created between these two will be unbelievable!! ❤
Chris is one of the greatest slide players going!! Also just an awesome song writer and a nice guy to his fans!
Dude, the smile on your face! That’s what it’s all about. Pure indescribable joy!!
Would love to have one of these.... Played 12s all my life and it sounds great.
What a phenomenal instrument, and wow can Chris play that baby!
Matt smiling like a proud papa.......outstanding.
The smile on your face when Chris starts playing was awesome...
Wow, sounds like pure joyousness. You guys were made for each other!
Jimmy Page needs that!!!!!!! That’s who I hear. Incredible.
Same, he is playing very Page-esque stuff though. Sounds like a giant mandolin.
Beautiful ! Thanks Matt & Chris, a delight to watch and listen.❤😊
The joy and happiness is palpitating. Lovely!
Very cool guitar!
This is one beautifully loud guitar ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's going to be a great tour with that sound added in!
We saw Chris and his wife (Ida Mae) in San Antonio, great show.
Congratulations Matt, Nice seeing you at Nammm 2024. Georgios, Greece.
Fantastic video and playing from both of you guys. I love this. And long! I love me a good long mule!!! The video as well 😂
I would love to hear the Mule with the strings placed like a Rickenbacker.12 string, where the Treble strings get struck first.
I’m smiling too. Not as much as Matt but close. Fun stuff
Definitely worth the drive down from Saginaw, to put the new guitar in his hands and to see, hear and feel Chris's reaction to that first wave of vibrations. Nice video work to capture the conversation. Thanks, Matt for sharing the moment that gives you such satisfaction.
Awesome!
Wow that's going to make fantastic music a great maker and a great player
