    Terrific review!!! I just bought a Jupiter 3. Can't wait to get it in my hands and on my mirrorless. One minor point: The Russians made this lens from the late 40s, not the late 50s. The copy I bought is from 1955 but I've seen copies for sale from 1949

    Hey Blunty, I have the Jupiter 11, mine is from 1963 and I absolutely love it, I am strongly considering a Jupiter 21m as my next buy for a long throw telephoto. These Russian lenses are fantastic. Thanks for the review

    I've really been enjoying this 'series' of your exploration through these old lenses. There's something intriguing about using these old lenses with new tech, and hearing you enthuse about them, and also seeing what they produce.

    I've been hinting one of these since I got my A7. Small, Light and Fast would prefectly match the A7's design.

    Hi Blunty ! Thanks for a great channel full of terrific info!!! I am collecting all the cool Russian, CCTV, and Cap lenses you've reviewed for some projects this next summer. Can you do a short video on how you "clean up" a used lens when you get them. Any special tricks, do's or don'ts? Thanks for all your great work. Really fun to watch and first class info !!! Joe

    Blunty, slightly off-topic. What are your thoughts on Panasonic G6? I don't think I saw any video where u talked about it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy this camera anyway, but I would like to know your opinion.

    I got two for my nikon D7100 the 50 and the 85 mm on the (D7100 M42 mount) I now used the none optic adapter on the 50 mm... Close up the image is super sharp and the fact the adapter is missing creates a wonderful bokeh (as it no longer will focus to infinity because the m42 needs the optic in it to do so......) I had an issue with the optic mount adapter it got stuck on the D7100 i needed grips to get it off. The company did refunded me the money for the adapter . Mean while I purchased the the glass less version to be going on with or I would never have thought to try is with out infinity focus. A new twist to learning by one's mistakes. cu

    • @mjones410
      @mjones410 Před 10 lety

      depends what you are fitting it to, mirrorless cameras they just fit with an adaptor, DSLRs they require modification.

      matt jones Please, tell me how to fit these lens into dslr. Is it possible to fit it into canon 30d?

    • @mjones410
      @mjones410 Před 9 lety +1

      MrFourthhorsemen to be honest, I don't know how. But because the flange distance on the rangefinder lens is smaller than on your canon 30d you would need an adaptor with glass in it to refocus. Something similar to this for lm39 to canon - www.kipon-usa.com/kipon-m42-lens-to-nikon-f-camera-body-adapter.html
      Or modify the lens, optically like this - www.leicashop.com/vintage_en/leica/lenses-for-m39-screw-mount/canon-lenses-for-m39-mount/canon-f-leica-m39-135-4-seiki-kogaku-serenar-sku21015-34.html
