Well said. I remember hearing in evangelicalism about "surrendering to Jesus" by walking to the altar or raising my hand, and being given the impression that everything would be honkey-dorey as soon as I walked out of the church, only to find that the Old Adam in me was still kicking and screaming to get his way.
I think it was John Calvin who, for all his other theological problems, wisely said "Repentance is what happens when the soul attempts obedience, and finds out how hard it is."

"Wisdom is not rocket science..." VERY WELL SAID! I live in a town full of rocket scientists, very knowledgeable about a certain subject they studied but wisdom is rare. Hopefully, prayerfully wisdom will come to them AND me through Christ.
The wisdom He has given me so far is slightly painful, but this pain I know is growth. Not the pain of the world and its fake system.
