Most of Hollywood movie prints are preserved very well. They scan the old films and they convert it into new films which can be stored for 500 years in proper temperature. Most of the Malayalam films are not even stored properly or they have not preserved for a long period of time.

There are many good movies of malayalam lost negative s or prints from producers n labs already.. Most of the senario Dooradarsan kept a good print.. That is the only available good one. See movie s like Kilukkam.. Every ott Or any platform we get only very bad quality even though it was shot very well.
Many prints destroyed in Chennai floods and even due to poor storage conditions.
Remaster ചെയ്യാൻ പൈസ വേണ്ടി വരും.. അത് തിരിച്ച് കിട്ടാൻ വകുപ്പുണ്ടായാലേ റിമാസ്റ്ററിങ് നടക്കാൻ ചാൻസ് ഉള്ളു... OTT കൾ ചാനലുകൾ ഒക്കെ ബിസിനസ്‌ കൊടുത്താൽ ഒരുപാട് സിനിമകൾ ചെയ്ത് വെക്കാൻ പറ്റും.. എല്ലാ സിനിമകളും പുതിയ സിനിമകൾക്കിടയിൽ വന്ന് തിയേറ്ററിൽ ലാഭം കിട്ടേണ്ട അവസ്ഥ വന്നാൽ ചെലപ്പോ നടക്കില്ല..
