The whole tea ceremony scene I was just beaming because this was exactly Nina and Kaz's dynamic in the books 😂
I'm not so sure. In the books Kaz wasn't always so broody and annoyed at everything. He can be charming and funny when he wants. For example his first interaction with Nina in the books.

It's so cute how he didn't even miss a beat when he said that, even if Kaz doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve he obviously grew to see Nina as family 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Kind of a strange reference, but their dynamic kind of reminds me of a darker version of Spencer Reed and Emily Prentiss from Criminal Minds. One is pure logic and science, the other is reading emotions and a preternatural intuition about what makes people tick. They don't understand the other's magic at all but they respect and trust it implicitly. Really appreciated their moments in S2. Also, Nina messing with Kaz followed immediately by Kaz letting her suffer with Zoya was priceless.
