- Behold the Dirt Hog Coleman CT200U-EX! Charles bought this Coleman camouflage mini bike from Tractor Supply brand new a few years ago, and came across a Predator 212 that was used on a snowblower. Interestingly enough, the previous owner put performance parts on the Predator 212 snowblower. We have no idea if it made the snowblower work any better, but Charles certainly got a good deal on the performance engine until it developed smoking AND rod knock issues! In today's episode we get a Grand Prix lap time out of the knocking Predator 212, swap on a brand new Tillotson 212 electric start, run the GP again, and compare the lap times!

Best small engine channel period! All 3 of you guys have a purpose on the show. I'm sure behind the scenes there might be disagreements as should be but for the sake of the channel keep it going. This is worth every show to watch.

Thanks For Doing It Man , I'm 60 , and got my 1st RUPP TT500 (?) around 9 .. it was in a local paper in the Classifieds for $25 .. Dad was cheap , but a Great Wrench , We built a couple Minibikes back then , and until he passed in January 2017 , We Rode Motorcycles together .. He was in a few Clubs , and We would meet , Him with a bunch of Riders ( Older Dudes , Dad's Regular Riding partner was near 100 , his name is Leo ) .. I don't think the snowblower story is silly, since watching engine modifications being done on this channel, I've often thought about what it'd be like to have a generator all hopped up with ported & polished stuff with skimmed heads and high-flow carbs & exhausts, would be one heck of a generator, a "Sports Generator" if you will... :P

Nice bike , Ike I think you could still knock off a second or two on your lap time cause Charles had it hammered down coming through the woods on his lap, you werent slow but I just knew Charles was going to fast coming up on the slab crossing and was gonna crash out but he took it like a pro and slid out a bit just coming out of the woods ,can’t wait to see you guys videos every week, good stuff 💯👍🏼

Brings back memories of when I disassembled my first engine. It was a Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engine that was slightly newer than the one I owned at the time. Also I was planning to upgrade my own snowblower as well.

Take the side cover off, take out the knocking bearing; shim the bearing with a strip of cardboard behind it and replace bearing. my grandfather did this with my mini bike and other small engines; old school trick and it will last years!

You're gonna have to camo paint the blue cover tho. Or paint the bike blue. The blue against the camp looks wrong. Otherwise a well balanced, fun bike. I want one.

The idea of more power on the snowblower is to get finished faster. Faster is better when it's freezing outside. But finishing before your neighbor must give some satisfaction. 😄

i have a old herchee 65cc 4 wheeler that ive swapped a 212 into and a go power sports jug torque converter and mancuni carb with a gov delete and aftermarket cam and its just sitting around. i have a kid on the way and have no more time for it at least until 5 years old or so lol i was 7 when i got my first dirtbike . if the cars and cam crew is wanting to buy it for shipping cost only HMU. ive gone 50 on a smaller rear sprocket but right now i have it has a big rear sprocket so my nephew could practice his wheelies. im in tx and if you pay for the shipping i will send it to you for shipping cost only. i also have plenty of gopowersports part to go with it. BTW i used c&c code for all the parts and i would like to personally thank the guys at cars and cameras for all the effort these guys put into there videos and builds because if it was not for you guys this build would have never happened and would have probably rusted away in my scrap pile. I can relate, my first go with these engines was a replacement for my 70s arrens snowblower, and i hopped it up and did all kinds of anger mods to throw snow on my neighbor's porch🤣🤣🤣🤣

Trick I use on brake shoes is to use a cut off wheel and due grinder to cut angled grooves in the shoe and it helps clear dirt and mud.

Charles, you should get some EBC grooved brake shoes! They did wonders for stopping distance and squealing on mine. For $17, it's a must-do on these colemans.
Also, I love the classic front wheel bearing squeal during Ike's run. Gives me some heavy nostalgia.

The problem with repurposed snowblower engines is most of them do not have air filters in stock configuration. I don’t know about Honda, but the other brands don’t because they ice up and choke out.
Honda snow blowers don’t have air filters either. They have a thin metal screen but that’s it
And because there's no dust
Blue on the crank journal is not a worry. Thats just where the journal has been induction hardened. I`ve torn down brand new Honda GX engines and noticed bluing on the journals.

I love the Dirt Hog... I also have a 200ex with a Tilly 212 slightly modified lol. Put a VM22, Billet Flywheel, 22lb valve springs, Hot 265 Cam, connecting rod, header and delete that governor she'll be set for a minute. Only thing is I'm not sure they make a Billet Flywheel that'll allow for the starter.

I don't know how much a side cover costs but I would overboard that camshaft hole and press in a bronze bushing that has a shoulder then redrill the oil hole. I did that on a locked up lawn mower engine where the crank fused to the aluminum bore due to there being no oil. Worked great. Got bushing from menards. Used a drill press.

A bit of advice of storing cars inside a building. They still need to be covered with car covers. Inside dust does just as much damage as the Sun or the rain. And keep your bikes away from the LEDs you have got some up there that are 5 ft away from an LED. LEDs get hot.

It's the rotation of the whatshamuhcallit interconnecting with the side movement of the thingamajig making a knocking sound as the insides are trying to get to the outside as shrapnel...
The blueing on the crankshaft journal is from where the factory hardened the journal, its completely normal. Every honda gx200 clone engine I've opened has the same blueing
