    I used to wrap them as the video demonstrates but now i start at the top and finish at the bottom and use the last couple of inches of the tape and press them in the bar end holes with the caps. By the way, i love this series of videos and the calm, clear instructions.

    I like the reversed wrap on the drops (over the top and out instead of the normal over and in), but most would change the direction back to normal above the brake levers so the tops go over and back. This tends to be self-tightening. Going over and forward as in the video is opposite to the way the hands twist on the tops so this wrap may loosen over time as the hands work to unwind the tape.

    I've heard that modern cork tape goes from the end like Saul did it, but cloth tape goes the other way, ie. from the stem down toward the ends. This lets you tuck the tape into the end and cap it with the end-cap. No electrical tape needed. However if you try this with thicker cork tape, the cork tape has a tendency to curl and roll away a bit at the bendy spot near the hoods as a result of your had pressure.
    Great vids Saul! +++

    Thanks man!
    I just successfully finished my own tape work for the first time and only watched this video :)

    Great video. I also reversed the wrap direction on the opposite bar for the mirror image look left/right side - extra cool factor. My tape came with a couple of super sticky tape wraps to "seal" the end wraps.

    You are about the only one out there ( and there are lots of video's ) that didn't overlap the tape at the bar end so you could stuff the end cap into it for a nice tight and tidy fit. You also did not cut a taper in the tape at the top towards the stem for a nice even finish with the electrical tape. Your method uses a lot of electrical tape and is kind of bulky and not smooth and even. You did wrap in the direction i think is correct, to the outside on both sides.

    Didn't overlap the tape at the start, didn't reverse the direction of the wrap on the tops and didn't finish by cutting the tape at an angle for a smooth clean look. Other than that he did it right !!!

    Wish I watched this video BEFORE wrapping. I had no clue about these "mysterious little end pieces".

    Nice video, but it would have been nice if you finished the tape with a diagonal cut for a less chuncky look at the tops.

    Hey velotique, I was simply wondering if there was a website you knew about that sells FABRIC type handlebar tape. I don't like the texture of the modern synthetic kind and was hoping to compliment the retro nature of my bike with fabric tape but i can't seem to find any places in particular online :/ Let me know please!
