- Hi all, finally getting some car parts in for my mustang build.
Here's a basic upgrade anyone can do to their car, a cold air intake swap along with programming a tune. This is the first step of many involving turning this mustang into a drift car.
#mustangbuild #driftcar #rtr #bamatune
When you add any performance parts, you should clean and inspect every surrounding part under that hood. Check for faulty wiring and check ground connections, clean the throttle body, clean your maf etc etc etc. It helps
Agreed, saving up for more equipment, cleaning setup is definitely on the list!
My first mustang was a 4.0 and it was really fun beat a couple of 2v v8 mustangs don’t let anyone talk you down as long as you have fun and love the car that’s all that matter keep it up!♥️
I have a K&N cold air intake on my 2005 mustang gt and I have no problems with it at all! What's done to my car is a Dyno tune and the K&N cold air intake
Dont let nobody take you off your square. It's good to have a v6 or v8. Its your car if they dont like it go to somebody else channel.
One hundred percent! I'm just having fun with this build and enjoying the process.
@@wildindave exactly I'm starting my CZcams mustang build as well. People tend to do the most.
@CapKruler hell yeah bro 🔥 I'll subscribe to your mustang build 💪🏽
I think overdrive was on when you were doing your 0-60 because it was shifting a like 4K rpm.
I recommend you turn it off so you can rev all the way to 6k and get the most out of your acceleration. The button should be on the side of the shifter below the handle.
Also that’s a nice Mustang. Don’t get rid of it.
No way must have bumped the button somewhere along the way. I'll be sure that it's off next time and try to do another run soon.
And 💯 percent not getting rid of this car.
@@wildindaveThe only other thing I can think of to improve your time is a more controlled launch. As fun as it is to peel out and screech the tires it can kill your time.
Practice and figure out what RPM to rev and launch your car at and how much throttle you need to get the fasted launch possible without wheel spin.
@dr.pingas7148 I agree. Once I figure out how to launch it better, I'll do more proper time attacks. Maybe even go to the local strip to log legit times.
@@wildindave You should make a video of you at the strip. That’ll be some good content.👌
I've never had any problems with the JLT CAI and BAMA tune. Using their 91 perf tune right now. I did order a tune from MPT. Gonna see how well that works.
Nice! The BAMA tune was definitely an upgrade from stock, its my first tune so I'm pleased with the results. Let us know how that MPT tune works for ya!
Mpt tunes is night and day difference, u never wanna go back once u get mpt tune
Noted! MPT tunes will be the next one I try @@samuelhathorn8253
So ive supercharged my camaro but with all the supporting mods it costs a fortune, im looking to add an intake and tune to my mustang and im thinking JLT with possibly headers. Cool video bro keep going 🔥
A supercharged camaro, that's nice! I hope to build something like that someday. I'm barely starting out with simple upgrades like the tune/intake combo, but that alone has changed the demeanor of my Mustang. It finally sounds like a legit sports car compared to its factory tune, and someone else just vouched for the JLT tunes in my comments, so I'm sure the upgrades you mentioned will be a great fit for your Mustang.
I'm excited for your build bro and thanks for the support! I will try to post more content soon 🔥
I have a 4.0 V6 mustang with k&n and tuner with other mods etc. and Nitrous no problems.
Nitrous?! on a 4.0?! That's wild & I dig it 😎
what nitrous system did you use? I was thinking about a twin turbo setup but I feel a supercharger would be better for a more consistent power band, but that's without having considered nitrous.
I have zex Nitrous kit. There is also Nitrous outlet they have amazing support.
I am going to Supercharge hopefully next year. @@wildindave
bama is crap with the pre tuned files. bama is fine if you actually get it datalogged and done.
Yeah man, I eventually want to manage my own custom tunes. As an engineer, I did plenty of data logging and system optimizations. So I would like to do the same with my car. I can't wait to hook up my laptop to the stang! 🤙🏽
bro went bama 😭
Wanted the brenspeed, but it was sold out 😭 this will do for now 🤙🏽
@@wildindave don't listen to the hate bama has been just fine on my coyote for almost 100k miles .
@Jake bet bro! definitely better than stock that's for sure. What's your take on the coyote? I'm thinking of getting one for when the time comes to upgrade the engine.
Fire bro
Thanks bro 🔥 I appreciate you 💯
Press the gas all the way down the whole time
oil that filter ,, or dust sand gets into motor
Yes, fortunately, this kit comes with a factory oiled filter. I can show the process of oiling the filter DIY soon, will be giving the car a big refresh.
What kind of exhaust or muffler do you have ?
Currently on stock exhaust. Only upgrades so far is K&N cold air, scotidi angle kit, and pedders suspension coil over kit.
Lol get a GT with the performance package and a true CAI for the mustang good rubber on the road and maybe some other minor upgrades but cool video
Thanks! A GT would be really nice, maybe down the road. In the meantime, I'll be doing the minor upgrades and figuring out my wheel grip as well.🛞🤙🏽
didnt even know about the battery cleaner! lmfao ive been using coke
Same! I've used coke & lemon juice for years. This time, I was a bit more prepared 👍🏽
the best mod you could do is to get a GT! Also your cold air intake is not getting the full benefit of the cold air. your car already had a cold air intake so really all you needed to do is get a better filter and save your self $500+
Agreed! I eventually want to put a coyote in this stang, but for now, I want to mess around with what I already have and learn some stuff while I'm at it.
And you're totally right on the cold air. The only problem with the stock is the encapsulation box on the filter. I'm actually thinking of scanning the stock intake so I can 3D print an open housing for the filter.
As for the full cold air benefit, I'm already working on that. I'll be making my own carbon fiber hood and will definitely add some functional vents for great air flow.
You’d be better off just buying a coyote. You’ll spend more for the motor, trans, wiring harness and not to mention labor. Coyotes 1st gen going for 15-18k easy
@Brandon Barrows You're right, theres pretty good deals on the 1st gen coyotes. I'll keep this in mind for sure. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍🏽
V6 has potential.
🤦 air box is wide open to catch hot engine air. You would've been better off putting the k&n in the stock box.
@bkehlin hot air concern will be addressed with a custom hood & grille I am designing. Check out my video where I 3D model a concept grille if you're curious.
That should be faster my 2008 ford mustang v6 4.0 liter with straight pipe new transmission and cold air intake and cleaned throttle body is crazy fast even before it was crazy fast you must have did something wrong
No it’s not I had one it’s a fun car and reliable but not fast
@@b3ntl3yB what car you had mines fast
v6 automatic,why
Not my call, I just inherited the car. When I upgrade to a V8, it'll be manual for sure.
My first car ever was a manual btw, so I do miss dumping that clutch and putting the stick into gear 🤙🏽
Don't hate, let the man enjoy his car
Mpt tunes or nothing
I have a 12 v6 with a 4k stall auto running 12s . Soon doing a hellion turbo custom kit
@@nightmare3.7cyclone24 hell yeah boy! Represent! 🔥
Aww poor baby
It’s a v6 😂😂😂
And I've owned a few v6 mustangs with very small modifications and have beaten v8s all day so you sound silly
@@richardharris9507
No you didn’t
Wait what you got a 4.0 liter
