All 5 of the ladies in Nemophila are veteran musicians and performers. Guitarist, Saki, is known as the "Queen of Shred" in Japan. She has been performing professionally for 11 years. She still performs with Amheiru and Mary's Blood and does walk-ons with numerous other performers. Guitarist, Hazuki, has played with Disqualia and Lisa X. Mayu is the front lady; and writes most of their originals, along with Kensuke Akiyama. She's the former vocalist with Lipstick. Bassist, Haraguchisan, was formerly with Holderlins. Drummer, Tamu Murata, started with pop band Soramimi, more than 8 years ago. She was a studio and back-up drummer for Inspion Sound and Music Corporation for a number of years prior to Nemophila. She can play ANY style or genre of music, and also plays Keyboards, Guitar, Bass, and Sax.

The fun thing is that Mayu's screams sound even better live :) Check out their song "Oiran" live at Naon no Yaon this year! Why would you need to record backing vocals by the other band members as a backing track for live? that's what microphone stands are for: to sing while you play an instrument ;) They play 7-string guitars and 5-string bass. One more little hint: there is no second "i" in "Nemophila"!
This song is 🔥🔥. Nemophila is 🔥🔥. Even Mayu’s hair is 🔥🔥. Japanese metal is the best metal and Nemophila is in the upper echelon. I recommend Raitei (mv) and Oiran next.

They are very talented. She can sing in various voices. You will be convinced it by listening to their cover songs. And, the original song “raitei”, is also a great performance and song.

The facial expressions people do when Mayu comes in is priceless. It didn't surprise me though since I'm their fan since they released their first two MV's back in early 2020. nemophila are my 2nd favourite band after ... Lovebites of course (sad though, Miho bassist left). Mayu is such a versatile singer and a badass, but in real life she is such a sweetheart and a humble person. They sound awesome live and yes they do backing vocals live too. Watched three of their live streams and they got better each time. Like Taylor Momsen, they are NOT in pop :) Oiran and Raitei are the next two you could (read should) check out. Saki (guitarist right) is the leader. She is one of the best guitarists in Japan and is also a member of Mary's Blood (11 years active) and Amahiru ( with ex Dragonforce bassist). Hazuki (left guitarist), Haraguchi (ever smiling bassist) and the beast on drums Tamu. She was 7-8 month pregnant in their Oiran and Trooper (Iron Maiden cover) MV's.PS. There are hundreds of all female bands in Japan, which for many people in NA/UK and some other countries where all male dominance is, is rather shocking. Many cannot comprehend that all females can be better, far better. Some other bands: Scandal (pop-rock w/ elements of punk, jazz, reggae, grunge, ska, coined the term J-Rock, 15 years active), Band-Maid (best Hard Rock band), Aldious, Mary's Blood, Gacharic Spin/Doll$box, Bridear, Hanabi, Trident are just a few all female bands. You also have The Warning from Mexico and Rolling Quartz from South Korea.
Nemophila is my #2 favorite (behind Lovebites). Mayu doesn't scream as much in most other songs, she has a beautiful voice. Check out their song "Raitei". To slow it down, their song "Life" is beautiful. And of course they have a million covers to check out.
I like Nemophila a little bit... They are the best thing to come out of 2020 by far. Oiran live at Naon Yaon ought to keep your energy up. Monsters and Life should be on the urgent list too. If you think Japan has something special to offer in terms of metal - pro tip - Hanabie. Start at "We Love Sweets". Why? Because you seem like a nice chap and I'm feeling benevolent. :)

They do the gang vocals live, the drummer can sing while drumming so she often covers the backing vocals. While Mayu's (vocals) screams are being altered, but she is an absolute face ripper live. A ittle background of the band, the drummer (Tamu) and guitar stage right (Saki) were very well known in Japanese metal before this venture. Hazuki (guitar stage left) has been "that girl" you get when you need an absolute guitar queen that can stand next to the best and hold her own. Haraguchi-san (bass) and Mayu (vocals) are newer (not brand new mind you) and it's very exciting to see them at this level.

Nope: the members sing those parts live while playing. There's a live video of this song available, actually, from a recent livestream of the most recent Naon no Yaon show (a small festival featuring female artists and bands in Japan, put on by every year for over a decade Show-Ya, who kinda started the all-female metal thing in Japan (and everywhere, really) back in the 80's...and are STILL together and killing it.

Hi fellow Brit You just got Nemophilad LOL And yes they all sing live go see there latest live uploads Effects on Mayu not realy lol good recording usual studio work but she does it live .There the the best heavy band to come out of Japan the last 2 years and have exploded on the west with there mix of heavy songs /punk / rock /even pop (see some of there covers) .Got together to support the Singer Mayu at some gigs just prier to covid and hit it off in a big way .Guitars 7 strings left as you look Hazuki right Saki (guitar royalty japan) Bass Haraguchi top bassist drums Tamu world class .Since the arrival in feb 2020 on YT there channel has 17 million views for there 7 original tracks and super fun and cool covers (there all exceptional) Pick any of them there not all as heavy as Dissension but you will be entertained by there fun and virtuoso musicianship guarantied .Try Oiran next best to do a double reaction there second ever upload in the practise room and the live one from a few weeks back .Also there CD Oiran Extended Edition has been put out by JPU records UK at fans request for the western market as CD's direct from Japan are ££££ (on its 5 pressing in a couple of months).There planning to come and play in the Uk when they can .Others will Fill you in as well LOL.
