Just purchased a 2023 Challenger rt manual, iam having so much fun for a 62 year old man ..
That’s part of your retirement right there
Good for you 👊🏻
@@jogmas12 let the man live! lol
Me too love it
Now that a Civic Type R costs $20K more than this does, a Challenger R/T is the greatest performance steal of the century!
I have a 2022 Challenger R/T with the manual transmission and the 5.7 Hemi. Owned a Mustang GT previously. Both great cars but I love the extra length and height of the Challenger. Glad I got one before the dealers start marking them up.
The great advantage of this car is that you leave it open Key inside, manual gear is the best anti theft system in the USA.
asked my 21 yr old son and 5 of his friends if they can drive a manual. All of them said no.. Only 1 has ever seen it... crazy
and leave it in 1st, they won't be able to start it until they realise they have to press the clutch in as well as the brake

@@Clevelandsteamer324 21 year olds now take ubers lol
Just picked up a 2018 RT with 67k miles. Love the room. I had a 5.0 Mustang GT earlier in the year. My big ass fits in the Challenger 😂
That’s my dilemma right now, do I want a Mustang GT or a Challenger RT? 😂
@@HummelHamster Yeah I so do miss the HP in the Mustang. The Challenger RT moves once you’re moving. From a standstill it will spin tires but it’s just not the same. But, it’s a long haul worthy ride. The mustang…not so much.
It’s so rewarding driving such a big car with a MT transmission 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
39k base price for a 5.7, and 46k for this one with a manual and cloth seats? Sounds like Scatpack prices lol
@@snowtrout123 If you're talking to me it's a joke man, lighten up lol. I was being sarcastic given the ridiculous increase in car prices these days. Just 2 years ago starting price was about 35k for the RT, and 39k for the 392. So basically the 5.7 now costs what the 392 did just a couple years ago. It's insane
@@RC-jg2fz I got a 22 Scat Pack with dynamics and adjustable suspension, interior upgrades $48k plus tax, tags.
At that point I'd get a basic scat without options😊 I know the dealers will try everything to get me to buy options so I'd have to play hardball, with a bit of patience they should eventually release the car to me🎉
I just bought a new (44 miles) 2023 Manual T/A for $36,000 out the door. Sat on the lot for a long time because it was manual. Prices are coming down. The $58,000 sticker was a huge factor in it not being sold also.
For me personally the F8 color is the only way to go on a Challenger and i absolutely love the manual transmission, it’s a must have in a muscle car.
Bought a 2015 RT Super Track Pack brand new for $32k out the door. My how times have changed... Amazing car though and the 6-speed was so much fun. That Tremec is very forgiving for manual noobs. I had to trade mine because I needed a good winter vehicle (which the Challenger is NOT). Definitely miss it though!
Soy mujer veterana de transmisión manual, hermosura de automóviles!❤
i have a 2018 RT Shaker with the 6 speed and i absolutely love it
The Dodge challenger is such a beautiful car. I hope one day i can get a manual challenger just like this one day
My very first muscle car!! Great video Ben.
The only reason people shit on these is bc they have so many other faster options. The RT was revered back in the late 2000s before any scat pack or hellcat existed
Have a 392 6sp. It is so easy to rev match with only a throttle blip.
Dude… the 23’s aren’t even being built yet! Hahahahahahaha
I have driven both Hemis with the manual, and I bought the 5.7 because it's really a better street engine. The extra 100 horsepower doesn't come into play unless you're really jumping on it. 5.7/6 stick is peak slow-car-fast.
How come camaro and challenger can get the tremec transmisson but you have to get the more expensive mustangs to get the tremec they should at least offer it in the gt
🤷♂️
I’m guessing ford figured that was the best place to cost cut. Manual sales aren’t that great anyway. So it doesn’t make sense to use a more expensive transmission in your lower models. Dodge is cost cutting by using a SUPER outdated platform and only offer the 5.7… You have step up to the Scatpack to actually get the v8 that competes with the base 5.0 and Camaros. And well, Camaros has always seemed to be the more luxury/expensive one of the two, and is definitely the most track focused. Even in the base model v8. But that has really hurt their sales. They could have used a cheaper transmission to maybe lower prices and boost sales.
When you say, “affordable”, is that before added dealer fees and dealer markup? I remember when Dodges sold for huge discounts.🤨
Edit: nevermind, I just saw the $46k sticker. Affordable?
Is it still a good time to buy or too late? Any recommendations on best years / models ? (roughly 30k budget so no hellcat for me lol)
one of my dream cars for sure!!
My 2017 Octane Red Challenger R/T was $34,000 give or take. Also with the 6 speed manual.
Best transmition men
Yes Manual 👏
This car is on my bucket list
Come on Ben, it's a 2022 not 2023. Why are you trying to misinform people.
Because he’s a clown
They are still all the same sgit bro lol. I'm getting a 2022 and gonna say the exact same thing for some more youtube hits lol. He can say whatever he wants his channel 😏

Just wondering if anyone has tried the manual scat pack versus the RT in a manual.
I’m wondering if the clutch and shift feel the same, or how do they differ?
Yes
Clutch heavier on scat pack
These cars are $33,000 brand new in Michigan right now. 2023 RT’s.
The 2023 models are the last ones if you want that real V8, 2024 and onwards are gonna be EV just so you know
Where?
@@mattbrown9484 Dodge dealer in Warren. They’re down to $28,000 in Florida with the blacktop package.
I feel like vin diesel shifting a Automatic gear box and driving almost like i am in sleeping position on the seat!
The ZF is a great auto transmission
2023?? I thought 2023 challenger now have 345 on the fender instead of HEMI??
I have a 2023 "Blacktop Edition" R/T with the 6 speed manual and mine has a 345 instead of the Hemi except it's blacked out along with all of the other badges, and I originally thought that only the Blacktops got the 345 until I saw on Dodge's website that they were supposedly putting 345's on all of the 2023 R/T's to commemorate the "Last Call" Challengers. So I was wondering the same thing and was surprised to see it had the hemi badge since it's supposed to be a 2023.
I have a 2020 with the same page they bussing heads for 2023 i only paid 34
The skinny looking wheels look goofy compared to the hellcats wide stance.
14.8 mpg.... resumes what is wrong with this car.
I would LOVE a V8 car with a manual transmission. But anything under 25 mpg is absolutely out of questions. With fuel prices still around 6.8 dollars a gallon, it is NOT a car you can use daily.
I have a real respect for what Toyota and BMW achieved with the B58 with his 27 mpg in regard to the power put on the road.
I have a 2022 scat pack challenger rt manual and I get 25mpg on the freeway going to work every day…no matter how high gas has gone hasn’t been a problem I still have fun and rip it when I want to 🙌
Ive had a 2018 R/T 6 speed for over a year as my daily
I would argue that the Camaro LT1 in both Convertible and Coupe will be cars we miss as well as they can be had with more HP than this offering in both a Coupe AND Convertible, but I have yet to see one reviewed that was bare bones. They always seem to be optioned out to the point that getting an SS just makes sense. But $/HP for a base LT1 and nothing comes close. Nothing.
I get that the Challenger is a bigger, heavier, roomier old school muscle car feel compared with a modern Camaro, but true old school muscle was always based in $/HP, sound, style, speed. I would love if you could review a stripped down LT1. Especially in a manual and compare your feelings and price point. 455/455 for under $40K should not be overlooked in probably its final year as well.
What's the Panic button for??
How’s it based on a Mercedes?
Affordable?
Cars in USA are almost like free. So yealous.
@@harrirauhanummi i wish😢😂😂
Vin Diesel would be driving a Hellcat Redeye Modified.
Blacked out because its a Blacktop edition
I found great priced 392, 6speed 🤦😆, decisions 🤔
I’m so done with Mopar doing away with vehicles that people actually want in favor of their new woke agenda! They are going to learn in time that it was poor decision-making on their part.
Lol like wtf does that even mean? Do you know the definition of “woke”? Apparently not. Fox News got y’all’s heads all fucked up 😂
agree completely. electric cars are gay dogshit
I agree with you, but they probably don’t have a choice people laugh when you say they will be in gas cars but they don’t even have to do that. All they have to do is make it so economically unaffordable for the average person that they have no choice.
The feds are going the same route as California, there won't be any gas cars sold in 10-15 years and ev sales are up 60 percent. Besides, you're just making our enemies rich using their oil because this idiotic administration is trying to kill the US oil industry.
shut up
Besutiful Challenger but mo remote start?
With manual transmission cars remote start isn't offered as an option due to safety concerns because if a car is left in gear when parked (which it generally should be to help keep it from rolling if the e-brake wasn't applied or happens to fail which can and does happen) and someone tries to remote start it.. the car would take off and start rolling forward as soon as the button is pressed and could run over someone or slam into whatever is in front of it.
It's not impossible to put remote start on a car with a manual transmission but it would be a stupid idea and an accident just waiting to happen, because all it would take is forgetting to leave it in neutral just one time (along with constant praying that the e-brake never fails) for someone to "remote run over and kill somebody" or "remote wreck a car into their house" lol.
4:53, Tripod! (Samsonite), I was way off!! 😳
Seriously, anyone else glance and see a carry handle and buffer tube?
Bought But, ought?
Chulada ❤
I miss my hemi I traded mine in for a family car and now getting a divorce so trying to get mine back
I don't know about great ,but it alright
👍🤟🇨🇦
This is literally the same car you could have bought in 2010. You can put fresh lipstick on it, but it's still a pig!
It's a pig many men would love to kiss
Dude its a six speed ,get back to us when you do a real review ,and its not that smooth ,,just the opposite is the dealer paying you
If a manual doesn’t shift smoothly it means u suck at shifting 😂🤡
