- Hey ya'll
It's been a long time since I've gotten my hands on a new PRS SE and today I'm checking out the SE version of the PRS SE CE
It's an interesting guitar with gorgeous looks, decent features and is on sale until the end of the year. Sponsored by ... my wallet!
Check it out!

Nice review. I bought the SE CE just to see how I'd like it. First PRS. I like bolt on necks, the satin finish on the back of the neck is incredibly nice, the action was perfect, frets excellent. Even at 699, I feel this guitar is well worth it. My only gripe is the tuners. On mine are not very accurate and have excessive play. I've bought PRS locking tuners and they made the guitar my favorite. So I got 750 into it and it's as good as guitars costing twice as much.
That's awesome. It's a really nice guitar for the money. PRS definitely knows what they're doing.
As the owner of a core semi hollow CE24, and now an SE CE24, yes, you should buy one. I put this right up there with my core. Easily. I also have an SE swamp ash special PRS SE line has definitely made huge leaps
This is the most comprehensive review I have seen on this guitar. Very nice job.
Thank you for the kind words!
Very Cool Raf, Thankyou. Awesome Review/Demo. Stunning looking and sounding Guitar and Awesome playing as always. All the Best. Cheers
Thank you! All the best, Happy Holidays
Enjoyed the video! I just picked up an SE CE24 in Turquoise earlier this month. I couldn't pass up that $559 sale price. It's a beautiful guitar and the trem system is responsive and steady and the guitar overall is a winner with me.
It's definitely a winner and the trem system is fantastic! Enjoy the new guitar!
Beautiful guitar 🤘
Phenomenal review Raf!
Thank you!
Good review Raf. I had a PRS SE custom 24 that I let go. I have a little sellers remorse. I liked everything but the pickups which were the same in the one you just reviewed. I probably should have kept it and just replaced the pickups. Merry Christmas Raf.
It's an excellent guitar! Looks and feels great. Pickups aside, can't go wrong.
Thanks for the review. Well done. I've been eyeing this model for a while and looking to possibly pick one up, but some of the other 'tuber's reviews are kinda lacking in substance and honest, real-world opinions... just spewing out spec's, etc.
Nice tone, BTW. 👍
Thanks, glad I could help!
Great video
Thanks!
I do believe according to the factory tour from 2022 the pick ups are made in house at the PRS SE dedicated facility I'm putting a link below for the complete factory tour.

I agree those pickups have to go. I had an S2 that has the same pickups I sold because the pickups were so lousy. I also think the neck position pickup in a 22 fret guitar sounds way better so I wish they made these in a 22 fret version.
Good call out on having a 22 fret version. That would be a great option!
Mmmm flame maple in the binding? Is that a solid flame maple top? 🤔 for $700 seems difficult but....
The Se 245 is the least expensive PRS at $699 Canadian. The Ce is $749. Both are nice guitars. Thanks for sharing.
Just curious, you find those prices at your local store ? Since it’s release, I haven’t seen the Ce under $939 Canadian, even with a bit of research. I would definitely pull the trigger at $749… please, don’t tell my wife 😂
@ll13012 If remember correctly Tony's One Stop Music in Ontario had the CE on sale or it may have been the 245, I don't remember exactly but neither were local as there is no PRS retailer in my province. I found them by Googling the model numbers. Of course wives don't need to know as guitar purchases are on a need to know basis, lol
Good review. Very nice guitar but I didn't like the neck or the overall feel of the guitar. Might have warmed up to it over time but could pretty much tell the guitar wasn't going to be for me so returned it. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing. I don't mind the neck, possibly because I'm used to a similar feeling Core CE. The pickups are really it's weakest point for me as a player but a lot of positives otherewise.
Thanks for watching, Cheers!
Do these SE CE's have the thin CE neck profile or the wide flat SE type neck profile?
This one has the wide thin profile! It feels VERY similar to my core model.
Is it cheaper than the PRS SE 24 Custom ? As a CE version it should be ! But I bet it isn't.
Ohh! It appears to have a Maple cap, rather than a binding, now some people, would be happy with that, but I've always seen binding as a way to hide decent woodcrafting and I love PRS for the fact that they have phoo binding that shows the side grain of the cap.
I believe so. It's retail price is $699 USD and the SE Custom 24 is $879
How do you like the PRS trem vs. The Evertune?
The Holcomb has the fixed bridge design. I'm very tempted to get an evertune version to try out though!
How do you compare the size of this PRS to the size of the Kiesel aries,is the Kiesel bigger?
Good question. The prs is a smidge wider, thickness is close.
Thanks, the aries looks big and bulky in photos, ive been looking at it for sometime and not sure about getting one because of the size, I like the prs body size.

Good review. But I don't think it's the most affordable. SE Standard cheaper and SE CE Satin even cheaper.
Or perhaps shops are putting weird prices that don't even match ranges.
It isn't anymore. At the tims of the video it was (20% discount during the holidays).
First
Second! Lol
Third. Wait a minute ...
This didn't age well. PRS SE CE 24 Satin released. $500 - BUT I have two PRS SE CE 24s.
Hey, at the time this one was on sale for $559 but oh well sounds like I nees to go get another Prs. Here we go again.
@@RafsGearReviews Oh I'm well aware. I snagged two of them at the time - the turquoise flame top and blood orange flame top for myself, and I love them. Tempted to get the satin, but it wouldn't make sense for me to.
The satin ones are a really great deal but a lot of us are willing to spend a bit more for a maple vaneer top.
The SE standard is cheaper
You may be wrong about it being the most affordable PRS, but still play it much better than that CZcamsr, Dillon James.
Am I? Is the most affordable the SE Standars then? I know this one is priced at $559 with the 20% discount code that ends tomorrow.
The veneer on the SE guitars are 50/50 on if they look good or not 🫤 I’m really glad I watched this video before I ordered one online 🫡
Glad to know I could help!
