Do not let your taxi driver do the bargaining. The driver will get a fat commission for getting a high price. You do the bargaining.

As soon as you start the ride, "Helpers" will flock and try to convince you that the path is dangerous and you require their services. In a harsh manner tell them to leave and make it clear you will not pay them.
Do not pay more than Rs 300 for the sledge ride.

Hi mam i was there in sonamarg in Jan 2022 , snowfall was good in sonamarg , but sleding and hiring a jeep from Tangmarg coasted Rs 4k , to expensive ,good cheating but what to do tourist all the way from hyderabad . paid it .

Rent a car from Srinagar to and fro cost 2000 and one we took till Sonmarg sight to and fro 2000 so total we paid for the day 4000

Taxi Union is big problem. .I think tourist are bread and butter for them, but there rudness and bargaining tricks not good for them, Government should take action and fixed the rate. ..I really appreciate your hard work 😀👍

7000/- for that small ride. Kashmir is so over rated. I would rather spend that money elsehwere.

Total expense of Sonamarg Day trip ?
2000 car rental till Sonmarg and from Sonmarg to Sonmarg 2000 to 2500 car rental , rest it is upto you for rides, but don’t go for sledging ride it is worthless from down to up, ya better opt for downwards but again only if they charge 200 not more than that as it is useless ride. Bike ride is from 1200 to 1800 but better look at the official board and give them accordingly. I feel better go by foot and enjoy. Or else you will waste your time fighting with them. Sonmarg is disaster.

Yaha sab jagah aisa karte hai .Hamare sath gulmarg Mai bhi yahi hua..bahut tang kiya tanmarg bus stop se gulmarg Mai hamari hotel pahuchane k liye phir hamari hotel k Bahar hi khade hogaya ki agar gulmarg sightseeing Larne hai inse hi snow slide leni hai nahi to kuch nahi milega.Highly disappointed I booked hotel room for 11 k wo bhi Jada tha and now I am not able to see gulmarg because of their Union.I hate the way try to thugging tourist
