"Finding the Words" was one of my all-time favorite 'Family Matters' episodes. It was so emotional and I really wish we had seen more of Jimmy Baines.

I never got why Rachel left the show leaving Richie behind, I think they could’ve had a reason for it right away like this:
Rachel just lost her business and she felt like her life wasn’t going nowhere, so she decides to move out of the house to get her life back on track, and she asked Carl and Harriette to look after Richie while she was gone, and it was revealed in the episode, Deck the Malls, she had been taking care of her aunt while she was sick.
I think that’s how they could’ve explained Rachel’s absence.
They dropped the ball twice😒
Rachel's absence wasn't explained in season 5.
Telma Hopkins left the show to get her own series (it was called "Getting By") it only lasted two seasons. After it was cancelled she came back to FM but only as a guest star.
@@GETOSUPASTAR you know how they did jack'ee in the final season when she left 227 they could've had Telma Hopkins name billed in the opening credits with the rest of the cast but as Special Guest Star just for the episodes she was in.
@@TerrellKRyans yes. That would a been nice, but "Family Matters" by the end of the run of the show was problematic. You notice how nobody mentions how (or why) Jo Marie quit the show & was replaced by the actress that played Gina's momma on "Martin"! 😒

I'm only 38 born in 83 hey. I remember being youngster watching family matters that was a good show a lot of good shows back then not like these days. But it makes me think about the older crowd all that experience those generations they've been through. Like moving time capsules. Sometimes I see people I'm like what was the 60s 70s '80s like when they were youngsters teenagers young adults or whatever time period. Just that transition is fascinating. Things are a lot different now than they were. But anyways just saw a Facebook video with Darius and I think Miss Joe I was like hey I know them my childhood right there. But that's cool getting to see people from back in the day on CZcams still looking young and vibrant.

Angel Johnson Because of the show focusing on urkel, we saw limited screen time with the Winslow family and how they interacted as a family in later seasons unlike seasons 1-2. Harriet and Rachel’s sister bond was a major part of the family dynamic in the earlier seasons that was lost when the focus went to urkel

Facts. They Would've Kept Judy If They Did. Jimmy Baines Could've Been In More Episodes, About 58 Or Made A Regular And They Kept Lieutenant Murtagh On For 5 Or 6 Years.

Thelma Hopkins left Family Matters cause she went on doing another show, "Getting By" But that show got cancelled. That's why Rachel made a couple of guest appearance at season 6 and once in season 9. I always though that Rachel should of returned as a regular cast or made more guest appearance, specially making guest appearance on the holiday/special occasional episodes. Rachel was the extrovert adult of the household. And the producers should talked Jo Marie Payton into finishing off season 9 and if they would of aired season 10, they could just reduce Hariette Winslow having her appear in more necessary episodes and Jo Marie still portrays the character.

Judyann Elder who portrayed Harriette Winslow in the last eight episodes of season nine is older than Telma Hopkins and Jo Marie Payton.

Season 4 episode of the wedding where Mother Winslow got married Judy went upstairs to change her clothes for the reception, and never came back downstairs. That was Jaimee Foxworth final episode.
