  • If there’s one thing Imagineering has always excelled in, it’s storytelling and arguably the ultimate storyline ever created by Imagineering is that of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, the secret club that ties together storylines and characters from some of the greatest Disney attractions in the world.

A full and (mostly) original storyline to thread its way through not only one Disney park/resort but ALL of them? Please, there MUST be more.
I also very much agree with those who have suggested that this should be a Disney+ Original Series. Live action, if they can make it work. But either way, I am sure I would enjoy it greatly!

Just announced; the 'Jungle Cruise' movie is going to tie together several other film projects (even including movies like 'Atlantis' & 'Pirates') to create a 'S.E.A.'- based cinematic-universe!

The Bengal Barbeque in Disneyland is noted to have first been an outpost of S.E.A. members in 1899. There is a portrait of the members of the club. The restaurant also has a photo of Professor R. Blauerhimmel in a biplane cockpit writing letters to known S.E.A. members Elizabeth Doer and Bessie Steele. The coolest connection in Bengal Barbeque has to be the picture of Charlie Allnut and Rose Sayer from the film “African Queen” aboard the Jungle Cruise ship Zambezi Miss alongside Lord Henry Mystic and his trusty sidekick Albert the Monkey.

That absolutely made my week, thanks Luke. I'm a huge SEA fan. One room of my house is done up as a tribute to all things SEA, members, attractions, etc. Naturally I have a framed print of their group portrait. I deeply regret that I never got to visit Pleasure Island in it's original incarnation but have enjoyed all that's at both coasts parks today. Until now I never knew about that Jungle Cruise overlay with the "removed" member. If Disney's ever up for making a film series based on their own IPs, let's hope that the Jungle Cruise movie is just the first of many. ( Eddie Murphy and Haunted Mansion sold separately. )

I doubt that Hightower was an OG SEA member since Sea was founded in 1538, and the Tower of Terror takes place in 1899, more than 300-years after the society was founded. So unless Harrison is a time-traveller or has an extended lifespan, the fact that he was a founder of SEA seems a little off.

In Aulani there is a letter from Adventures club president Pamela Perkins in Auntie’s Beach house. It is to Ka’ imi (I think this may be Uncle) who is a member of the club and was a regular at the Orlando chapter. It references Hightower and and a picture that she sent of his “Pillagers Brigade”. She thought Ka’ imi might want for his collection. The picture of several pith wearing white men is right next to the letter. I’m not sure if it’s still there as I took a picture of it 2013.
