As u said it makes the deck heavier. I would say the best compromise would be a detachable integrated unit that includes a power bank and usb-c hub. Something that can be clipped on and removed when not necessary.
I'm also interested in an attachable usb hub that is light enough to be left there permanently, something that plugs into the port securely and without stress on the port. This is mainly to take the daily wear off of the the main single port of the deck.

The last one I bought (some no name ChanTech thing) claimed 30,000 mAh but the performance was nothing like. It felt heavy enough, but even it's own digital display was inaccurate and the thing would run out of juice even thought it claimed it was 50% full. Good info. I just bought two of those 65W Baseus, after getting one unit and torture-testing it. (Wanted for my Pinesil 60W USB-c soldering iron. Works grear!) Tested with a dell and a macbook laptop with USB-c 65W power. Perfect. (20V out at 3.25A measured at highest power) Also love that superquick charge. most 20,000ma battery banks take 8hrs or so. This thing stays cool and fills up in 70-90 mins.
Walmart had some 65W USB-C chargers on sale, and they work great with both the soldering iron and charging this pack. Amazon had coupon on them as well...
I test a _lot_ of lithium batteries and packs, and these really were great. Still haven't pulled a full capacity test, yet, tho. Pretty close from what I've seen so far. A solid, very useful pack for charging most anything. And the quick recharge is better than any other one I've seen. By far. Good stuff!
A lot of battery banks out there are pretty much just scams. Overstated capacity, overstated output capability. Thanks for all the great content! Stu the technerd..

So I tested the 45W PD anker and the newer 87W and the 45W can play and charge up to AAA games at 30fps and anything basic like indies at 60fps or higher and of course in sleep mode. the 87W at 60W (I had a 60W USB-C cable) can play and charge pretty much doing whatever so if you want absolutely no compromise you'd have to go 60W or 87W. The 87W with no charger is only $100 new from Anker on their ebay store so that's what I plan to upgrade to since it's like maybe $20 more than the 60W although you do lose 400mAhs but I feel it's worth it for almost 1/3 bump in total wattage.

So an interesting thing that I just tested (with my 45W PD Anker power bank)! If the device is in sleep mode or the 30fps cap is in place then it will play and charge at nearly full speed but if you try and run a game with the 60fps cap or uncapped framerate it can just barely keep up and it will discharge the Steam Deck battery still (slower than not being plugged in or course though). Haven't seen anyone else report this yet so I figured I'd post it here. Found this when I played a power hungry game like Elden Ring. Notably, if you play a less demanding game like a modern indie title (I tested Bloodroots) then you can not only run at 60fps while charging but it will also charge FASTER than something like Elden Ring at even 30fps.

Just to be clear, the Anker power bank can be charged via USB-C, but it does not charge other devices via USB-C. I purchased that exact model last summer for my iPad Pro/Switch and I was disappointed to say the least when I realized the advertised USB-C charging was referring to charging the powerbank itself. I had to then go out and buy a fast charging USB-A to USB-C charger from Anker in order to charge my devices, and to be honest, it doesn't charge larger appliances very fast. On top of that, it takes several hours to charge this thing via the charger that came with my iPad Pro (20v USB-C to USB-C). That being said, it does store a lot of charge, and was very helpful. Just not what I expected from all of the hype behind Anker, and again, the advertisement of fast charging/USB-C charging.

I feel like a scrub for using the 15,000 mAh ones from Five Below, but at ~only 10 dollars~ it's hard to go wrong, and so far they have worked great for me. I haven't used it for anything other than phones and iPads, though. I really doubt it would meet the needs of the steam deck.

Baseus must be having quality control issues. I just bought and retuned the battery you tests from them. It came out of the box and wouldn't charge up. Pushed the power button and the display would not even turn on. If I plugged it in to change the display shows 100%, and 20v in and 0 amps. Reviews on Amazon are showing others having issues. I really wanted this battery to work for me.

You didn´t try pass throw charging. That is when you have the power bank connected to a outlet, and then the deck to the battery.
This can be useful on several different places. Like if you are on a airplane with a 10W USB, you can extend the battery life quite a bit.
Or you just have one charger, and you leave them over night, this way both the powerbank and the deck will be full in the morning.
Or if you are on a road trip and also have limited power in the USB
