  • In February 2022 I travelled to Bali, Indonesia to write my book Return with Elixir, fusing the threads of Joseph Campbell's monomyth, Carl Jung's analytic psychology, and the Tibetan Buddhist art of rebirth. Little did I know what mysteries and wonders awaited me on the island of the gods. Within the first week I synchronistically met and interviewed Bali native and homeopathic doctor Tjok Gde Kerthyasa for episode 3 of the Wisdom Keeper Podcast, and as they say, the rest is history.
I affectionally dubbed Tjok Gde the "Wizard of Bali", for the next five weeks he led me on a pilgrimage to holy mountains, into sacred ceremonies, through delightful conversations about life and esoteric subjects, and revealed the hidden gems of the island. This short documentary captures our first full day together on the verdant land, in the Wizard's medicinal garden, and at his sacred stream (beji). It was on this day I knew I wanted to follow the magic and move to Bali.
