Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐
Remember each song is a different world so you arriving to a new world and that's why every song is a new journey.
The moment I heard that vocaloid (Hatsune Miku) style i knew Yuyoyuppe (aka YuppeMetal) was behind this song which also reminds me to Kagerou, and no wonder why, he's the one behind that song too and he gives that BM style unique sound in songs like Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Megitsune and Monochrome recently. MoaMetal is also a fan of his work despite the ridiculous time signatures that torture them lol
We also got the first full English lyrics of this new album after a while and the first time released in Japan. They already got three songs entirely in English but those were released internationally.
This was written and recorded 5 years ago and you can even hear a more childish vocals. Like they said, this is a collaboration between past and present selves, and is about the fact that you don’t see the same thing that others see, the English lyrics express a different personality and pov.
    Here's some official info:
    Believing
    (INVERTED MIRROR REFLECTION)
_Even if the seasons change and time passes, some things remain the same and some change. When light reflects in the mirror, what appears are two faces and two relative worlds. Who should we believe: someone else’s words or your own?_
You're not the first finding that t.A.T.u song similarity but if you look closer the lyrics are quite different and maybe the vocaloid style is giving this sensation.
Keep enjoying your journey through this new album and thanks for sharing. Put your kitsune up and see you next time!🦊🤘🪞🔥

    I don’t wanna be confused
    anymore.
    There’s no safe space.
We just can’t go back to
    the way we were.
    Leave everything
    in God’s hands.
    The seasons change.
    You are not the same.
    The seasons change.
    We are not the same.
    Don’t go back.
    All the things you said.
    All the things I know.
    All the things you said.
    All the things I know.
    Believing. Believing you.
    Believing you.
    I don’t wanna be afraid
    anymore.
    There’s no middle ground.
We just can’t go back to
    the way we were.
    It’s kind of like
    Heads or Tails.
    The seasons change.
    You are not the same.
    The seasons change.
    We are not the same.
    Don’t let go.
    All the things I said.
    All the things you know.
    All the things I said.
    All the things you know.
    Believing. Believing you.
    Believing you.
    Wherever you are...
    Wherever we are...
    Wherever you are...
    Wherever we are...
    The seasons change.
    You are not the same.
    The seasons change.
    We are not the same.
    Don’t forget.
    All the things I said.
    All the things I know.
    All the things you said.
    All the things you know.
    Believing. Believing you.
    Believing you.

This song is my favorite although the competition is strong. for vocals like that although they can be re created live they normally will have on a back track. The song combines such great elements the fantastic guitar work and drums and beautiful vocals. The harmonies towards the end are heavenly and they didn't just end it there, they threw in another chorus and a final mini breakdown for which I am very grateful

    Good reaction, thanks!
I'm probably about your age and I also hear t.A.T.u right there. Fortunately, the rest of the song doesn't sound anything close. 🤣
Koba is not a terrible manager, some part of the fandom just can't stand his way to tease us. The only thing I can argue is the placement of the Kami Band on the last 12 concerts (and specially on the last two and the live footage coverage of them), and the masks... And yes, he has the first and the last word on all the songs. For example, Yuyoyuppe needed 36 demos of "Megitsune" to get Koba happy with the final arrangements. This is the actual level and I don't see it as a bad thing (as a perfectionist myself). But because of this, "Megitsune" is a real masterpiece.

There's a difference between producing and managing, though. He's a genius producer, I don't deny that.

Holy f, you remember t.A.T.u? Nice one and yes the Moa lines sound a bit similar.
Believing is defo a banger and has the quintessential BM style, catchy, heavy with fantastic vocals. The effect on Su’s voice can be replicated easily in a live show if they wanted to. There are so many technical options these days 😂

    • @ChiliConCarnage
      @ChiliConCarnage  Před rokem +4

Yeah, t.A.T.u was huge when I first started going out to clubs. It's a good song too.
You're right that it's very "Babymetal", but somehow it also manages to sound new and fresh.
The effect is easy enough to recreate live, but it's happened before that they have an effect on her voice on the album, but not live. This one is so central to the core of the song that I doubt they'll drop it though.

This song is a collaboration between BABYMETAL of 5 years ago and BABYMETAL today.

    • @allegorical

I think this concept album was in the works for 5 years or more. There was a lot of talk that Metal Galaxy was going to be one, and with songs like the trilogy of lights, you can definitely see where they may have wanted to dip their toes into it but couldn't finish it. It seems The Other One is simply them finishing what they started, which could be why Koba doesn't consider it to be the 4th album. It seems to be more of an addendum of Metal Galaxy.

@@allegorical No, these like something they scrapped years ago, just "restored" during their hiatus - which the name "restoration project" back when they're snippets make sense

@@allegorical it's a bit different, it's not like they've been working for it for 5 years, those are like some Linkin Park songs that got release recently - some scrapped/on the hold that not suppose to see the light

    • @allegorical
      @allegorical Před rokem

@@BadEnd98 I don't think Koba ever to fully intended to scrap his desire for a concept album. He simply scrapped Metal Galaxy being one. Meaning, the songs were never scrapped, just put in reserve for when he can return to what he wanted to do.

I definitely recognized the All The Things You Said chorus on the first listen, but couldn't name the group or song. They played the crap out of that on the radio though.
Koba and Amuse has a regular set of writers that they go to for music. For example, the writers of Monochrome's lyrics were done by MK-METAL and the music was Yuppemetal. You should check out Yuyoyuppe's latest EP called SICK Yanderu, he's a master at the craft.
I think Su-metal's impression that Monochrome wasn't melancholic when they first recorded it, but I think the fans are influencing her because the piano version was definitely sung with more melancholic emotions. Plus I think one needs to take in the account the writers of the song and what they intended. There is also the comments from Koba that this album was meant to be ambiguous, and the listener is suppose to interpret the songs in their own way.

    • @ChiliConCarnage
      @ChiliConCarnage  Před rokem +2

      I'll check out that song.
Yeah, the whole album is very ambiguous. You can listen to it no matter what mood you're in and it'll fit. The only song I don't think fits is The Legend. A beautiful song, it just doesn't fit the feel of the rest of the album, IMO.
