I recently read an article 400 restaurants in SF have closed during last few years...due to homelessness and feces all over the place . Tourism is down .
San Francisco hasn't been nice since the early 1960s. Even then, there was white flight to the suburbs and whole sections of the city that were slummy and crime-ridden. Now the city is expensive -- and slummy and crime ridden. Also freezing cold. Brrrrrr.
@@hurryandleave9680 White flight? SF does not have a large black population. I lived there in the 1970s, and it was pretty dynamic, but always a bit kooky. I think in 2020, the cities that are the most Left are the 3 Left Coast cities, especially (SF, Sea, Portland), along with the Twin Cities, Chicago, NYC and DC (who has NEVER voted for a conservative EVER!) Detroit votes for Dems (a couple totally braindead), but Michigan is actually a liberal-leaning (mostly union) swing state. The Left cannot connect the dots with the high crime, bad schools, declining businesses with ther terrible policies. Detroit is SUCH a sad story. Until the late 60s it literally had the highest standard of living in the entire USA. It was THE place to be, get a great job, have great night life, and raise a family.
That's what happens when the economy is built around one industry - times of great prosperity when that industry is thriving, but great poverty if the industry struggles.

The swine that have ruined it lately are beyond the pale. Tbey are Left, and know nothing of classic liberalism. As a correction, the last GOP mayor of Detroit was Luis Miriani in 1962 (not 1969). Boston is also a very liberal city, but well-run, and is actually my favorite US city, despite me being a libertarian that despises the LEFT! I do not really care how someone votes, but I hate to see the policies of some of the swine elected - folks like little boy mayor, Jeremy, in Mpls, Weenie Wheeler in Portland, Durkan in Seattle, Lighthead in Chicago, DeBlasio in NYC, and every mayor of DC - ever. Atlanta has had bad ones, too, but its strong economy, and generally red state governance (GA) has kept it OK. All of MD has been a blue hellhole, most obvious in Baltimore. The swine from CA are the worst political delegation of ANY state by far, and their policies are trashing the Golden state. Dopey Drunk Pelosi, Gavin Gruesome, Schiff-for-brains, Mad Maxine Waters, Kamala the Horrible (only got into politics by being a mistress to Willie Brown!), Feinstein, and an assortment of others, are not even respectable - just dumb, collectivist tyrants! Anyone who checks will plainly see, the smart folks are exiting the blue states in droves for red states. People want freedom, low taxes, and the govt OUT of their lives - things you will never see in places run by the Left! I have been to all 50 states (lived in 10 - mostly Left cities), so I am well aware of the differences. Physical beauty, nightlife/dining are not related to the politics - the only reason these Left urban areas still manage to survive. The Covid Cult stupidity has increased the flight, as no one wants to live under blue state tyrants, and all their lies!

I'm quite surprised that Philadelphia is not in your top ten. Very surprised as a matter of fact. Example, the last Republican Mayor Philadelphia had left office in 1952 (that's 67 years ago). All the rest since then have been Democrats.

You mean the "Republic of Boulder?" Boulder is waaaaay beyond liberal.
Democratic Republic of Boulder

Where did you get the drone footage from Belltown, Seattle? That is my condo building! How cool.
lol Chicago IL, Seattle WA and Portland OR are doing real well now.
San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities in America and so is Portland and I'm quite the conservative. I am capable of leaving politics out of my thoughts when I visit places
Timothy Cook, you’re a rare individual. I knew there must be “some” conservatives somewhere who are nice!
They are beautiful cities, just like a Tiger in the plains of Africa is beautiful. Stunning visually, but nothing you want to get too close to.
@@corybarrier lol San francisco or portland is not gonna kill you I can speak for san francisco that it's a great city if u give it the chance, even though it has problems. every city has a lot of homeless but they are more visible in sf because it is such a small city in terms of square miles
You must be blind. As someone who lives near SF and has been there many times it is NOT beautiful. I've seen literal human shit on the sidewalk, a needle stuffed between a crack in two buildings, and more crazy homeless than I can count.
Timothy Cook Las Vegas is the most beautiful city but think about what a bad place it is to live
I recall, years ago, how the left would Bragg about how Detroit was going to be a shining example of what they could accomplish.
It is.
As a liberal I just shake my head and face palm when liberals say look how good we did with Detroit. Yeah maybe 70 years but not today. I always will say they dropped the ball on that city.
lol and mobile alabama is the accomplishment of the conservatives. lol
Nowhere fast As some who lives in downtown Detroit I can say they are trying to turn it around. However people keep thinking that giving people money fixes things which it doesn’t. People need education and good paying jobs what do I know as a college kid. But I will say that the people still here are very proud of the city and want things back to the 1950s which won’t happen soon but at least people are trying and hey give Detroit this. The city didn’t go completely crazy and they decided to trash the parts that city could really care less apart. Downtown had protest but very little damage that because the city and state immediately stepped in. That’s why Michigan only had 2 cities get hit and mostly they were contained to a couple blocks

Yup and it was right wing capitalist business owners whom outsourced the once booming auto industry to other countries because it's cheaper ,, you tried
Hating Detroit is a reflex
I have a few old friends who live in Detroit, and from everything they’ve been telling me, the city is actually on the upswing right now, and has been for a few years. Crime is starting to come down, neighborhoods are being rebuilt, and jobs are starting to come back. They still have a long way to go, but it seems like the city’s worst days are behind them. This bounce-back has been almost entirely a DIY effort on part of the everyday people who live in Detroit, as the government pretty much turned it’s back on the city and left it for dead many years ago.
I got to admit, I thought Seattle would be higher. I live here, you cant even mention Jesus without, someone in your face. It's kinda sad.
It's almost like abolition of the 1st and 2nd amendments are a thing. Oh wait...
I moved from the Seattle area to rural Montana last year and it's so nice to not have people living in RVs everywhere.
Have never really seen that, and I live in Green Lake. I have seen those “Gays Repent 4 Your Sins” people be verbally assaulted in Cap Hill though 😂
You must be a Mormon missionary.
Arnold Jones Is it really like that? In that case, I’ll have to reconsider moving to Seattle and I might have to find another city in Washington to live in. I wanted to move there for the rain and the downtown scene. But something tells me that as a Christian (Jehovah’s Witness), I don’t know how well living there will be.
Alright, ya had me laughing with the "Seattle is 70% Liberal and 10% Antifa".

Chicago should be on the list🛤🚃🚂🚞🚎🚌🚃🚂
alot of people assume there is transit everywhere when in fact its is almost near non existent.
basically when you get down to it, I estimate , on avg., of all cities over 500k in the US 60% are liberal, 40% conservative but most fall somewhere in the middle. Suburbs is probably 50/50 and everything else is probably 60% conservative and 40% leaning liberal. put it all together and we are about 1/3 liberal, 1/3 conservative and 1/3 somewhere inbetween.
Yes and 50 percent of people do not vote
I lived in Montpelier, VT for several weeks. I loved the city. The cuisine is good, people friendly, but alas, finding a rental is virtually impossible.

I have visited SF many times and I love it every time. I have only seen it as a tourist though. I’m sure it could be quite different living there. Amazing food, nice people and so much to do. The redwood trees are amazing. I could spend all day in the forest taking in the beauty there. It’s a big city but it somehow doesn’t feel big too me.
It is an amazing city-in fact, the most beautiful in the US, second only to Paris in the world. And there are a lot of people who love to bash it. It is a tolerant place, but they do need to resolve the homeless problem as well as the mental health issues of these people. A laissez faire approach never works.

@C caymer Care to elaborate?
Have you ever been to Boulder? Yeah, I figured not. Dun learnt it from Fox.
Californians and northeastern people have been fleeing to Denver for nearly 30 years. They ran away from the high taxes, cost of living in those places and have come to Denver and voted for the same thing that made their home places so unlivable. Denver was a right of center libertarian city until the invasion.

Cities with high GDP tend to be liberal. If you want to make money you usually need to be in a city. Conservative cities are just never-ending strip malls and sprawl filled with low-wage jobs going nowhere. Shitty/nonexistent local scenes. Church is usually the most interesting thing people do each week.
@Art Fe Which city?

What about Boston?
Absolutely. I can't image a city any more liberal that Boston.

My political views are mostly center, maybe a little to the left and I just wanna say it’s kinda sad watching the liberals and conservatives insult each other
We must be on the same side then. I hate it when people force me to pick a side and stand with them.
Politics are sad period
Hiw Graji Du Suw You don’t have to pick a side when it comes to a political party, but how can you not pick a side when it comes to real issues? Do you say: “I am pro-gun Monday-Wednesday, anti-gun Thursday-Saturday and on Sundays I usually don’t care about guns at all”?
@@borisgetman9222 we do seem to swing back and forth with our votes, and maybe that's all that keeps this rickety train on the tracks. The opposing forces balancing things out. Or, at least kicking the can down the road. We would be screwed if we were totally controlled by the left, or the right.
ugothydenow Probably not if by the right, but definitely yes if by the left. The right has its own shortcomings, but modern left is purely anti-American. In addition, the entire paradigm has drastically moved left and what is today considered “right” used to be “left” only a few decades ago. If you read to a modern liberal JFK inaugural speech, he/she will think that it was said by a very conservative person (read: “nazi”).
Detroit, Michigan??! It's really unbelievable!

Over San Francisco? Clearly Briggs has never lived in the 415 or the 313.
You truly mentioned the biggest issue's with people. We don't listen to one another. We think we are right and they are wrong.
Listen to other's views and take time to learn about many thing's in your life. Then you'll be able to decide where you fall.
The bottom line is, just because we may not agree on everything doesn't mean we have to hate each other. Why can't we disagree but still hope for the best for everyone.
We as far as a country goes, can't afford to be divided the way we are politically. It will only lead to bad thing's in the long run.
Will you be re-visiting your various series with the data from the latest census and post-Covid? I’ve been binge watching and would happily watch watch new videos with any new stats for 2021. Thanks for the great content! 🙂
The problems in San Francisco are not due to liberalism. It's due to the tech industry driving up the cost of everything, and so you have a lot of poor who end up becoming homeless. It's just become too damn expensive and the middle class is leaving in droves.
EXACTLY!!!
Bri I You drank the Kool Aid. Gavin Newsome helped destroy it, and now California. Liberals made it a hell hole, and the techies gravitated to it and made it outrageously expensive. Soon I am out of here.
Who gives a sh-t. Whether it's liberal or conservative is not going to make a difference living there. Lived in SoCal for 24 years and never noticed a difference..
Unless you are a person who actually enjoys going to the range and shooting guns. Or perhaps you care about your tax rates. It does make a difference to many.
I watched both videos. Top "conservative" cities are like 60-70% and the top "liberal" cities are like 85-95%. Sounds way very unlikely.
I don't even know what to say to that intro. I enjoyed your videos and thought I was a thinking conservative. But, you basically said there is no such thing. You know conservatives think the same thing about liberals as being non-thinking and just parroting what they hear on MSNBC, CNN and such.
He literally said the majority of conservatives are NOT this way. Did you listen carefully? You heard Fox News and got offended or something? Also, he trashed liberal cities way more than conservatives. He's well aware of his own bias.
And no, CNN, MSNBC are not religiously watched by all liberals in the same way that conservatives get their news from Fox News. CNN is bad, like real bad, but they don't compare to Fox News in terms of propaganda. Sure they lean left but they're mostly just sensationalism and milking stories for viewership. It's an important difference.
You'd be more accurate to make the argument that liberals tend to parrot what they learn in universities. That would at least match the propaganda of conservative news.
Very few liberals watch MSNBC and CNN. Vanishingly few.
The funny thing about your response is that you showed that you are an unthinking conservative.

I am left of centre and all these places seem shitty except San Fran. I have been to Detroit and it is scary. San Francisco is a beautiful city but very unaffordable.
Unaffordable because of the taxes that the left imposed and “rent control” which only leads to higher rent.
@@metalhead8646 zoning restrictions are a bitch, but speculation has also pushed up the price. Airbnb has also made housing much more unaffordable with short term rentals maximizing profit. Places like Houston are becomimg more unaffordable.

Those violent POS assholes show up during a protest. There are people who wait for a protest to happen just so they show up and be violent. They're opportunistic rioters and robbers. This past summer law enforcement spotted these robbers traveling in caravans. Some were driving nearly a 100 miles. The ones in the SF Bay Area were driving about 30-50 miles to targeted stores. They knew the cops would be busy at the demonstrations.

Woah no Madison, WI?! That city is like ground zero for Northern European lifestyle in the US. Anyway, about the Cleveland thing, blue collar and liberal, that's mostly because of labor unions (and political corruption through said unions) throughout most of the 20th century. Lots of rust belt cities/towns are like that because workers were encouraged by the unions to vote certain ways. Now manufacturing, packing and shipping, and many other blue collar industries have left those areas but the voting patterns stayed.
Living near Seattle (In Redmond), I feel Seattle is getting worse every year. The city council is trying to make Seattle so far to the left, that San Francisco would appear to be a right wing Fox News Trump supporting city compared to Seattle. I'm a liberal-moderate myself, but Seattle is far too liberal for me. They have gone way too overboard. In Seattle, the typical liberal is way too conservative for their city council.
