  • HEAT RACE MOUNTIAN CREEK SPEEDWAY 8 10 2012... Track was super sloppy and this was a heat race... car is set up for drier conditions and there was nothing to gain by wining this race... I know it looks bad but its not as bad as it looks...lol Glorified Hot laps in my opinion...

I think I would have used more rear tire stagger on this wet track to keep it from pushing. Although I drive different,
I set the car sideways right before the curve and counter steer from the beginning instead of trying to catch it
after it breaks loose. Worked well for me I had 73 feature wins on an old 1986 caprice, police cruiser, before I got taken to the wall, with an inside slide job, and destroyed. One thing that I done that no one else did was use sway bars, front and rear.
I put an all thread on the left front link so I could adjust the cross weight. The slicker the track got the more I shortened the link. Always used both rear tires instead of letting it roll over onto right rear. Worked well with my driving style. 53% was my magic weight, left+rear+cross. Had to put a lot of stagger in the rear and loosen up the sway bar link when the track was tacky or it wouldn't turn, too much traction. Car weighted 3150 lbs with a 406 ci., ran a power glide in low gear with stock 3.08 rear end for the local 3/8 mile track.

He needs to learn how to smack that gas to go sideways instead of pushing to the wall.

You did good, you didn't wreck and that track was really wet. More you drive the more you learn. Stay confident don't listen to any negatives you'll get to the winners circle, have fun and be safe.

You handle that bumper tag perfectly! You pulled off the tail with out dragging so his rear end could maintain without a spin.
Rubbin is racin and that was clean.

Good job! However, try setting the car by going in a little higher. Turn left before you lift and then chop off the corner some. This will help your exit and allow the LR to load up quicker and allow you to carry more straight away speed off into the next corner. Also, a little rear break certainly can help set the car is traffic is an issue. Good luck!

I have to agree with you guys the car was really pushy it was a heat race the track was extra wet we set our cars up to win races in the feature but you're right this is probably how you don't do it

Cut a spacer for your front spring passenger side it will force opposite rear tire down eliminating your push

Idk your setup so hard to help with anything, but a slick track. Pushing on entry for sure. Not uncommon for slick track. Back off entry and get the car to set with the throttle so you get the drive off. If you're clear behind then maybe come in high and cut down early and come off low. Easier said than done to know if you're clear behind though lol

looks like one hell of a greasey/wet track. try a little more toe in your front end as well. i run normally 1/4" . other than that your car sounded good and looked good considering the surface

First and foremost, that track looks as greasy and it can get. Hard to do much when there's no grip. Car sounds good tho.

Ahh dont listen to these guys. You learn from your mistakes. It's hard to run on slick tracks I know and you will get it. You did nothing wrong besides just needed to throw the car in a little more so you dont push. Besides that you was pretty clean for the most part a couple bumps but that's racing.

Also, the worst placement of a go pro EVER. He apparently would have put it even HIGHER inside the car, but the roof prevented that . Dude, put the camera down where your EYES are so we see what YOU see, not a slit of track in front of the car.
