Thx!!
There is nothing that matches the feeling of listening to this piece for the first time live. It blew me away.
10:59 👀👀👀 I just knew it had to come up at some point, it’s too iconic to skip💀💀
In Japan, this product played by Kawaguchi City Ensemble Liberte in All Japan Band Competition 2023.
They let our listen wonderful music.Their performance is very wonderful, cool, and hot.
Mr. Day, I recommend their performance to you.
This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for!
So excited to play this with the UWEC Wind Symphony!!!!
My band has the honor of preforming the 4th movement of this piece at Chicago Midwest this year! Mr. Day, I’ve never seen my friends/fellow musicians so in love with a piece that we’ve played as they are with Soul. You are a musical wizard. Love from the Westlake HS band💚
Zoe, thank you for the kind words and I'm so excited for Westlake's performance! I will be at Midwest and will hopefully get to come to one of the rehearsals and of course the concert. Best wishes to all of you.
@@kevindaymusic Your piece is everyone’s favorite in the program by far.
Wow. Mr. Day, this piece is phenomenal. I’m in the University of Minnesota Wind Ensemble, and we are currently working on it. Without a doubt, it’s one of the coolest pieces I’ve ever had the opportunity to play. It’s so unique how you brilliantly infused jazz into a wind ensemble piece in such an intriguing way. We are really looking forward to your residency at the UMN next week!
Kevin, amazing job! This has now become one of my favorites in the rep! Wishing you well from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire!
Incredible work, Kevin, Dr. Hartenberger, and the UGA Wind Ensemble! Congratulations!
2:18 awesome tuba solo!
I've been listening to this piece ever since the UWEC Wind Symphony played it, and I have to say- Of all the pieces I've ever heard and listened to, this is by far one of my absolute favorites. It's an absolute masterpiece, and a joy to listen to
I. and V. will always be my favorite
Kevin - what a fantastic work you have added to the repertoire. I am so very glad you showed your first sketches of this to me way back at that 2019 Midwest Clinic. Myself and the musicians of the Brooklyn Wind Symphony cannot wait to begin working on this next month. Congratulations on completing this masterpiece.
Kevin, what an incredible piece! I've been having some fun learning the soprano sax part for this (UWEC Wind Symphony). You've merged many styles of music into this piece with grace and finesse. Wow, I can't wait to hear from you in October!
It's a wonderful performance. I was impressed! !(From Japan)
Awesome. Really excited to perform this in March! Is that the lick I hear at 10:59?
It was an honor to play this.
WOW NEPHEW! WAY to GO! CONTINUAL BLESSINGS to YOU!
Absolute masterpiece!!! Bravo Kevin and the UGA Wind Ensemble.
I heard a preview of this piece in the GMEA Virtual All-State Band earlier this year and have been waiting for the day I could hear a live performance of it ever since.
God this is fantastic! Such a fresh, upbeat, and exciting piece! Great work :)
Love it, sounds straight out of Whiplash !!! Wonderful clarinet part and players :DD
Bravo - what a great performance and addition to the repertoire!
An amazing composition Mr. Day!
Incredible work, Kevin!
Around the 3 minute mark there is some references to the euphonium concerto he also composed. Or is it just me? I don't know it sounded similar I thought that was kind of cool.
sodelicious............................
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
@Kevin Day will this be on Spotify?
I would also be down for some streaming service goodness
@@WillCollins WILL WHAT ARE DOING ON MY CZcams COMMENT
Many composers can not make the forces of the large wind band sound unique when using traditional harmonic language. Mr. Day can. The orchestration of this piece is great and far out.
How do I know when and where this masterpiece going to be performed in the future?
