As i said before i think you should take into consideration the effect of stats boost on commanders balance, so for example if we say commanders x primary and y secondery were the 3rd best march in the game and they have 100% stats boost it means they benifit from the relative iconic buffs that much more and might push them higher on the power rank
Chisgule my question is that we have equipment that Improves base stats through a percentage right! So that percentage takes effect on the base stats? Like for example 222 is attack for cavs base! Without any factors now if a put an Iconic on with +3 attack on my Sacred dominion on my Cav March will that percentage boost the stats like: (222+3)+25%=225+56.25=281 Or 222+3%25? Which equals to only 222+.75
Chisgule, do you know if the iconic boost applies in canyon too?
Also i put iconic crystal on my dagger used in barb fort rally, but the report won't show iconic equipment boost separately there. In KVK that will be important knowledge so we see what base boosts enemy rally or garrison has

Gold costs in the game keep rising without ways to obtain gold increasing. As a low spender im struggling on gold for healing and training troops i find myself often having to choose 1 or the other

@@ericlee8456 Honestly, we should not NEED farms to enjoy the game. Sadly, you either need farms or to spend heavily, or both, if you want to enjoy the game.
Be like everybody else and manage 10+ farms or pull out the visa.

@@lordkresnik2873 yep. The game play today is different than when the game was first created. But adjustments to the ability to gather resources has not changed enough. Especially now that the waiting period between KvKs is so short.
I saw a screenshot from customer support that the artisan forge event was only coming one time when you enter the season of conquest. That would mean that after the initial four iconic crystals you can get from that event. You'll just be getting two per kvk. One from the Lost canyon shop and one from the free to play portion of the crystal battle pass.
Any hammers you don't turn in the shop will be exchanged for gems

This was a great video. I would like to know one thing, if someone has a special talented accessory piece for a specific unit type (let’s say infantry) does the plus 1 bonus still apply if I were to use that same accessory piece for a different unit type?
Talented equipment only gives extra stats from the iconic if it’s on a commander that matches the talent selection. EG my inf talented and iconic ring of doom only gives +3 base stats on my cav march

If you make an iconic equipment and you refine it later on and make it special talent, will you get then the additional base troop buff of +1?

The choice of which equipment to upgrade to iconic is largely irrelevant.
Base attack will be multiplied by a larger multiplier than base health, but 1 health is worth perhaps anywhere in between 1.2 to 2 attack, depending on what commanders are being analyzed.
For this reason, I think it's more important to make the decision based upon what equipment you have talented (because you get the 30% bonus) & what equipment you feel is least likely to be replaced if new equipment items are released. For the latter reason, priority should be given to Dagger & other accessories, cav health BP, cav health boots, archer health BP.
@@tsmith6203 If you have 100% health bonus and 250% attack bonus, 1% base stat would give you 1% * 2 and 1% * 3.5 respectively.
2 health vs 3.5 attack... 1:1.75 ratio, which is relatively equivalent. It makes no difference.

IMO you should apply iconic crystals to talented gear first and then prioritize health
Pretty happy there is no bundle for iconic system and Lilith reworked the crystal gain in kvk. Appreciate them “trying” to look out for f2p

yes, once you get the special talent you will get the extra +1 base stat from having it talented.
love it! new cool mechanics to entretain us, does not throw the game off valance! this is the kind of game systems that make me love RoK.

I agree with the overall conclusion of the math, but the process seems a bit strange to me...
It feels very similar to a thought experiment, giving specific values to the stats when it would be far neater to prove it in general for any base stats, any percentage stat modifiers, and even for any iconic upgrade base stat modifiers. With that in mind, the conclusion reached with that adjustment considered, is that you should apply an iconic upgrade to equipment such that the ratio of base stat added from iconic upgrade to base stat is maximised. This means that any talented pieces of equipment take priority, but otherwise the difference isn't significant... Additionally, this relies on the formula which is in the link in the post being correct, which even they do point out that their formula only holds for small armies of around less than 100k troops. Therefore, despite appreciating theorettical arguments, even I am forced to concede that testing in a controlled environment is need to definitevely discuss what is really the case!
@@tsmith6203 That does not in fact affect the maths for which base stat is best to boost. It turns out that it works independently from the percentage stat boost, but in a similar way, you want to boost the base stat with the lowest value

I am on KVK2, and I was lucky to forge my 1st ever legendary equip - and it already unlocked the talent! (cava gauntlet)
I was excited to put the iconic buff in it, and see powerful I would become... sigh
Now imagine my face and disappointment to realize that after buying the gem, and turning the gauntlet into iconic, and making the test before and after forging - my battle with the a lv 35 barb was WORST with the iconic buff!
I was so confused, because I was expecting little change - but at least SOME improvement. Not "nothing", nor anything you can attribute to luck coming from skill/talents.
Result: 20.000.000 gold in the garbage.

I don't think this iconic crystals would be equal for garrison and rallies is simply because
Garrison can use all troops type while rally whill almost always be single troop type now that means something like nevsky get's 6% health for cavs from 2 accesories for cavs while garrison with yss get's 6% cav health , 6% inf health , 6% archer health so 18% health overall thus making garrisons alot lot !!! Stronger once u include all the other gear aswell
thats not how math works... just because u have different troop types u cant add all of them together to +18% health, thats stupid. Its +6% health for both rally and garrison thats it. But the rally will be stronger with single troops now, because the all gear base stats work, if u have a mixed garrison the base stats only apply to that specific troop type, not the other two... so the rally has as a whole better stats

I don't fret the numbers of the iconics. What bothers me is it is pressuring me to commit to something lol
its funny how so many people cry about this update is for whales or spenders when its actually not that case
whales can have 1 strong march yes but they very likely to be used for rally/garrison. which allows your single march has a better chance in field fights against those whales other marches. whats so bad about this?
your real nightmare starts if they will actually introduce t6+ troops. this iconic update is clearly being nice af to f2p already. and just face it, the gap between us normal players and whales will ALWAYS be huge, and will get larger as the time goes on since they are continuously spending whereas we playing it for almost free/minimal spending.
This game used to be much more fun...

About the iconics, you never know what the game will look like in 6 months, if we will get more crystals, lots of crystals, or some crystals, or attack focused commanders etc etc, so just live the moment and wait for your next pass 4 to use your iconics.....
Agree completely with this, there isn't really a point of using the iconic crystals until more testing has been done...
It isn't the worst addition to the game, but being that the highest spenders normally have the better gear (or more opportunities overall to special talent) this is just another means to push some ahead of others. The crystals will just be held in storage until a legendary gear piece is special talented, and as someone with 23 pieces of legendary gear with 0 special talents, its a pointless addition...unless materials are going to become easier to obtain, and special talenting is going to be reworked again in a way that actually benefits someone not spending, this just continues the trend of making the most powerful, more powerful.

I would say if you play the game already like few months you should have an legendary equipment. (maybe for f2p after t5 Iam not sure, tell me how it is). But if you have legendary equipment it is indeet really good update. The updated does not benefit kvk1 as much as following. So earlygame is I think staying same.
@@progameryt3070 True. I am F2P in the start of kvk3(8 or 9 months) and I don't have legendary equipment. But I am only 10 million power and cannot play full time. I do have a few pieces of epic equipment. So it is good for late game F2P's(low spenders) and good in general for spenders.

You contradict yourself mate. You say that cav sets give a lot of health so they should use iconics for base attack, but if the equipment gives a lot of bonus health it is in that case very strong to use health iconics because they give the base stats a boost resulting in the health equipment carrying a greater effect.
For players maxing kvk technology, those buffs plus alliance buffs exceed the benefit of the armor. That’s why in all cases attack was a priority. This logic also applies if you focus on attack stat for one troop type but don’t overall max tech
All whales have specialized equipment. And iconic gives +1 for specialized. Plus a lot of gold needed. How's it gonna reduce the gap? 🤨

I think you should spend time as a non whale in a c or d seed kingdom... you'll find alot of battles happening with not everything maxed and top of the line. Those kds could use some advice on how to be cheeky with what they have.. in otherwords don't base all rally/garrison advice on the assumption that everyone in every kingdom is doing it with all maxed everything 😁(even tho we all know in a perfect world they should)

In short, Iconic being added so whales are happier at the game and stick to it while f2p still having way more trouble.

The analysis doesnt account for diminishing returns because it can’t - We need testing to asses the actual extent of diminishing returns. If iconic gives you 20 attack and 10 health, and diminishing returns are a thing, analysis has to account for the fact that the difference between 500 and 520 attack is LESS meaningful than the difference between 300 and 320 attack, and so would be even less meaningful than the difference between 240 and 250 health.
