Please stay tuned as he continuse to work this out and video. Then we will take steps to show you where you can get it.

I work in a cancer hospital where air quality is of the utmost importance. We have UV on most of the air handler units throughout the facilities and only don’t have them on some of the older buildings that are not patient facing. They 100% work.

My wife has severe breathing issues and we had an UV system added to our home heat pump system 3yrs ago. It has been wonderful and improved our home air quality immensely! It would be great to add one to our RV.

Yes! I live in SC and we rely on our whole home system. So glad it's come to RV. We'll definitely use and report our results. It's been very helpful at eliminating mold and allergies!

As a master technician and HVAC for 30 years ultraviolet lights simply kills bacteria and germs it’s been known since the beginning of man that ultraviolet light is excellent. The bigger issue as an RV owner is the amount of formaldehyde that is in RVs is off the charts, we have a grand designs momentum 25G that the food literally has to be put in glass jars because the formaldehyde is so high. We have owned this camper for five years. The offgassing is incredible, I have used OZONE generators for days TO TRY TO REMOVE ,I have heated the camper up as recommended to it to off gas more and after owning this camper for over five years is strong I have install these in a lot of HVAC systems for homes and industrial the greater fear and issue we have with RVs is formaldehyde. It is used in the glues in the woods from overseas because that’s all the RV manufacturers use. A lot of the veneers has it in it and an RV is full of veneers. UV lights are wonderful. They do a good job the bigger fear and issue the formaldehyde in RVs.

Great video. We just had our RV serviced by a tech who was a graduate from your training academy, and the gentleman and his wife were awesome. We live in SETX and will be using this company from now on. On another note if you need someone to tryout this product we would love to be a test travel trailer for it. We have 2 medium puppies and our camper sits close to the woods and we get a lot of dust from it. Thank you Todd for all your video's they have helped us out a lot.

Great video Todd. I have a UV light on my A/C system at home. My wife has COPD so yes I want her to breath the cleanest air as possible. This would be a great item to add to our RV A/C. I will be standing by for your test. I already know this device can only help those that having breathing issues.

UV lamps in commercial HVAC units is a common accessory. Filter changes are still necessary, but coil cleanings were much further apart. Inspections were still on the schedule though. Those are the key to anything lasting.

Todd as usual great video. I used a UV light system in my pond to kill all the bacteria and it worked great also when I worked in the Casinos we had UV lights in the hallways to help with that too.

Installed three of these on my Newmar London Aire in Feb 2023 and they work. Careful installing as they are very strong and will sunburn your eyes, no kidding, don't look at the bulb when energized. Customer service via their website was non-responsive when trying to get replacement bulbs, nor are they listed for easy purchase on the site. Would appreciate them to be added as they indicate the bulb life to be about a year and I'm past that, but thankfully all three are still burning bright.

For the last 35 yrs I have worked with a major HVAC manufacture and been in the industries for 50 plus yrs. UV lights depending on what UV wave length they are can help or are just smoke and mirror and just generate ozone which is not healthy for your lungs. Even the American Lung Association does not recommend ozone / UV producing lights. There are good units that are designed for your home / heating and AC units that work, but they are big lights and they are paired with a hepa type air filter. Small lights like what you are looking at most likely will not do the job and as you stated, if people just keep their air filters cleaned on a regular bases you do not need a light. I will be interested the out come of your testing. Maybe it will and maybe it won't.

We installed uv on our HVAC in our home and it makes a difference. Coils stay clean and seems the air is cleaner, have noticed colds do not spread to everyone in the house when one person gets sick. (Not scientific and could be psychosomatic)

I have installed the REME Halo UV light on my home HVAC system for a couple of years and my AC guy that does my PM every 6 months has said that my coils look like new He has not had to do any cleaning, no signs of mold, etc. Anxious to see if this will works similar for RV AC. I have 3 on my fifth wheel toyhauler!

Very intriguing...I'm most curious about how it's hooked up to get 120V up there? Also, you they are typically on all the time but most of us don't have 120V power source 24/7.

Hospitals have used UV light for years to sanitize air in HIGH RISK environments and it has been useful in that scenario. The real question is does it have a meaningful effect in a LOW RISK environment, such as an RV?

went to Lumasafe website and there is no spot to order and the FAQ says you can only order direct, sent email asking for more info, we'll see. Not impressed at this point but a good idea, Amazon has a similar product that would work but is only 6 watts, is 40 watts over kill?

      Hello Scott,
So I knew that you can only get it through a distributor. If my review pans out then Ill make way for a distribution company to work with me or become one. But I don't do that until I finish my review.
I know the science works but what I want to make sure is how to install, where to install, and go over all the considerations so I can do a complete review for everyone.
Please stay tuned as I continue to work this out and video.

I thought the main reason for cleaning coils was to remove dirt, dust, debris from the coils to improve efficiency??? How does a UV light help keep dirt out of the coils??? By the way, I do not approve of using a weekly Tech Tip to talk about an unproven product. I enjoy the weekly tips and do not feel this is useful. My two cents....

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  Před 2 měsíci +6

So the claim is that it will kill the things that grow on your coils. Yes cleaning them helps get the growth off. This product claims to kill the organisms which in turn do not grow if the organisms are dead which means less frequent cleaning intervals,
I am reviewing it. The tech is not untested at all as a matter of fact its proven in other industries. We are testing it on an RV airconditioner.
Tech tips are free information that I provide, answering questions of RVers. This has been a topic that has come across my desk several times. I will test it and provide the feedback.

Looks like this company is out of business. Any suggestions for a brand with a similar setup? We really need this in our full time rv.
    Any ideas?
