Half the cap in four forwards who consistently fail to perform in the playoffs is the problem… it’s been the problem under Babcock, it’s been the problem under Keefe… and it will continue to be the problem under the next coach. I wish Sheldon well - class act and I’ll be happy to see him have success somewhere else. I’ll be rooting for him.
Keefe is good coach but it was time to move on the players weren't taking the message seriously , you can do so much, he will have another job sooner than we think, New Jersey could be a possible destination , interesting what Dubas does with Sullivan now that Keefe is available
I didn’t like him. Still don’t think he’s a great coach but this video kind of turned my opinion around on him. It’s so different from what we’re used to seeing. No pointing fingers, no making excuses. He just accepts that he wasn’t good enough and thanks leafs fans for sticking with him

Hey Sheldon, lifetime fan here (I’m 70 now). It’s my considered opinion that control over a variety of players and egos was an uphill battle for you. I don’t think all of the core 5 players gave it their all for you, however I don’t know their motivations. You have had a wonderful record with both the Marlies and regular season Leafs, CONGRATULATIONS, you stepped into the lions den and succeeded. Wishing you more success, I’m SURE it will follow you !!!
As they say, 90-95% of the issue with losing has to do with the players. The coach can make a difference, but even if a difference is seen, it could merely be from the players reacting to the firing rather than what the new coach is doing, which is what happened in Edmonton - if a coach can't hold them accountable, firing that coach might just do that. I hope it works for the Leafs. And if a player still isn't going to be noticable after 8 years, it's probably time to part ways too. Sheldon isn't the only one that should leave after all that's happened. That's not even the minimum of what needs to happen.

Regardless of what feelings we have of his cosching this here saying goodbye in person not theough text msg is a very classy way to handle the news. I didn’t agree with his coaching philosophy but i like Keefe as a stand up guy to say goodbye this way in this manner. The backdrop says a lot to me that all the pressure & weight of the job has been lifted off of him he looks like he's hovering over the calm waters. 😂🤣 Now that's the way to go out no text crap just honest sincere words from the heart.

Truly a classy, respectful and heartfelt message delivered by a man who is now ready to coach in 31 other NHL cities after the experience in TO. His job was impossible at times, untenable at others and it seems he tried to do his best ALL the time. I am not a Leafs fan but I wish him the best of luck in his future. After the experience he just endured for the past 4-seasons, I hope he takes a break, spends time with his family, re-charges the batteries and then finds the correct coaching position (if that's what he wants) for the next chapter in his career.
