You can 3d print rubber like materials which can flex and bend like rubber
Good old TPU
And pctpe
You could paint the wheels with that rubber paint that they use for undercoating. They have a rubber one that would work perfect for the wheels.
Or he could use nylon or some other flexible filament.
Or he could grow a brain!
Just use a hot glue gun.
