I recently watched a video about carcinogens in American made shampoos. There’s a lot! Not so much in Europe. Then I loaded an app that I can scan whatever brand & it will alert for harmful chemicals.
Then I watched a video about the danger of drinking bottled water. They contain micro plastics which contains forever chemicals which can mess with hormones & your endocrine system. So no more of that.

Right, but that’s not the takeaway here. The takeaway is that the soap and beauty industry is selling us a load of bs. It’s been well known for a long time in the medical field that simply rinsing long enough with plain water will remove most foreign and harmful bacteria from the skin. We don’t need all these extra products to be healthy.

The difference is they just use water, no products. So if the key to the experiment was that he merely washed off with water, then I’d believe it, but if I somehow went two days without showering my scalp and face would be irritated from accumulated oil

If you smell and you don’t have something nasty on you you’re pretty much definitely not in good health. Often people end up smelling bad after not washing because you don’t have a natural biome on your skin. Often people have fungal and bacterial breakouts if they don’t incessantly clean themselves. It’s funny tho, cuz if u dare admit that u skipped one single day they’ll tell u how gross and disgusting you are; yet they have old dirty couches they lay on every single day that don’t ever get washed, old dirty carpets that have never been shampooed, they never clean/sanitize their phone, door handles, etc. But WERE the gross ones lmao. I just find it funny that they keep washing something that isn’t dirty over and over (ie their body), yet completely ignore things that are ACTUALLY dirty 🙄

@kayleigh3648 for real! I use natural soaps but I use soap. I had to go to a Dr once for a skin thing and she said "you have the softest skin I've ever seen, you must not use lotions".
The beauty industry is not doing us any favors. They give us lotions that dry our skin (if you use it your body stops making its own) lip balm that dries our lips, soaps that kill our good bacteria.... getting customers for life.

Every other day is perfectly fine, maybe even once or twice a week during the winter. It’s the nasties who only shower a few times a year and/or refuse to use soap who give us the bad stigma. (I saw a few in the comment section here who say they refuse to use soap or shampoo🤮🙄). I do every 2-3 days due to psoriasis, also working from home (there’s no one here to smell me), and chronic fatigue syndrome (have to save my energy for more important things like work and taking care of my child, etc); so it doesn’t make physical or logical sense to constantly shower. I don’t think there’s a one size fits all for showering, but never using soap is just ridiculous and gross, not to mention lazy AF… I still don’t understand why some ppl refuse soap or shampoo, like they’re trying to prove a point or something, but all their doing is pissing everyone around them off. How hard is it to shower once a week/month and use friggin soap?!? 😏

I can absolutely confirm this. One time about 12 years ago I was homeless in the summer time for about 7-8 months, I couldn’t shower every day and spent a lot of time outside, let me tell you I never felt so physically well as I did then. I had tons of energy and was awake at sunrise every morning. If I needed to walk 2 miles to something I didn’t think twice , fast forward today and I have a pretty cushy Job and house and I can hardly get out of bed. I always said the sunlight and not putting the chemicals on my skin every day, heck maybe even the tap water significantly contributed to my physical feeling.

I had a similar experience but wasn't really homeless per se. I used to work seasonally on a farm which provided very primitive living(is that a haybale in the mud?! No, it's a matress!😅) and I always had energy, strength, good sleep, thick hair, no pain, clear skin and mind and lots of motivation. "Showers" meant using a hose once in a while and if you got really lucky on a sunny day where nobody else wanted a shower, you could coil up a long black hose in the sun and get 2 whole minutes of warm water in a few hours! lol of course it's also been 10 years, so that's a factor too, but now that I own a house and have all the creature comforts I want, I'm more unwell than ever lol I'm such a sucker for comfort that I'll kill myself with it if I'm not forced into discomfort regularly. I struggle to even take a cold shower anymore, even though I know I'll feel better, it's just so hard to willingly choose discomfort sometimes!😅 being young and broke was seriously one of the best eras of my life lol

I don’t know about not bathing everyday but I will say this, I have stopped washing my face as often as I use to (I would wash my face twice every day). Now I wash my face every other day and sometimes I go 2-3 days without washing my face and finally my skin has cleared up. I have always been prone to acne and blackheads ever since puberty and nothing worked but still tried hoping that one day it would. During Covid when I was at the heights of my depression I started to slack with my face routine. I went through a “what’s the point of all of this” moment but that when I started to see progress. I was worried that the pollution out side would break me out again but it has not.My skin now is clear and I’m currently only working on evening out my skin tone. I still recommend washing your face but try not to stop your skin of all its natural properties as I once did.

“What we’re paying for is… a good smell. That’s basically it.”
People don’t understand how impactful our sense of smell is to our psyche and daily lives.

Couple of things a lot of those good smells are aliphatic hydrocarbons. Which are known carcinogens.
The doc didn't shower with soap but he did bathe with an exfoliant to remove sweat and smells.
Scientists do understand but sorry for the oversimplification.

Also quick Typ don’t use liquid soap as it actually is just chemical that isn’t unregulated and extremely bad for you. Use bar soap especially those made of olive oil. Much greater for the skin and it lasts so much longer. My brother had alot more back acne using liquid soap and I have dead skin and hurtful skin on my hair but since I just wash it with soap for 1 week now and put an egg on it to get the proteins and other things in my hair it’s feels great and my hair is much softer. I will soon switch to bar soaps as well but I’ll have to order them first. They aren’t made of any chemicals just natural products

yes you might be wanting to smell good. but you fail to understand damage your skin cause it to start dying and other problems and your smell will always exist no matter how much soap you use. its important to balance your biggest organ just as much as its important to care for ones heart and liver.

You still need to rinse off, at least. Especially after you've sweated and at least once a week. Using a skin brush often helps between rinse offs to keep the dead skin from building up too much.
I rarely wash my hair, because it just feels better not to shampoo all the time. I do rinse it out every day though. The neat thing about it is I have a natural wave I never knew existed until I quit shampooing. And the further away from shampooing I am, the more my hair wants to do it's natural style.
I haven't washed my face with soap however for probably about 10 years now and very rarely ever have a breakout or pimple.

My hair actually started falling out more when I subscribed to the "you should wash your hair less" opinion. I am an active person and a greasy scalp for days was not the answer. Stopped doing that & my hair has never looked or felt healthier. Im going to stick to doing what works.

It completely depends on your lifestyle, activities, job, etc. don’t generalize everything for everyone. Someone who works at a factory or a construction site cannot go without showering a single day, just as one who works out can’t stay without showering for long because the sweat will cause smell. And as someone without a car in Florida, I can say if you walk a lot in the hot sun, you need to shower. And not all skincare or soap is bad for you. There was a time I did not use to wash a certain body part with soap and it started flaking

Its your decision. A lot of people don’t need to use soap every day, some do. The point of this video is to primarily get views but also show that soap can cause harm.

Story time. Health teacher, Coach Steve, once told us. "Being clean doesn't equal healthy always. Deodorant with antiperspirant is bad because you're supposed to sweat. But I'd rather be approachable and a little unhealthy rather than not." Wise words to live by.

Look, we may not need tons of soap on a daily basis, but even a week without a shower is disgusting, let alone five years. That being said, it would he one helluva great way to ensure that nobody ever gets into your personal space.
