In this video, I met up with my friend Maaya Orido, a young up and coming racing driver who is the daughter of famous motorsports pro driver and media personality Max Orido. We went for a drive in her GR86 Cup Car and had a great conversation about cars and life.

This is so awesome! Max Orido is someone I grew up watching do amazing things. Racing and cars are my passion. I remember when Maaya did that AMA on Speedhunters. She replied to my question and I lost it. I was so excited. Seeing how down to earth her and her father are is amazing. I hope to one day meet them.

It is really interesting how her father kept his car enthusiasm so separate from her growing up. Sure, she grew up at the track because her dad was(& still is) a professional driver competing in JGTC and Super GT. But he has never drifted with her in the car, and leaves offers minimal instruction. Really interesting.

I saw one of these drive by my house a few weeks ago, but it was orange, had a small carbon factory wing, and was even right hand drive. It took me off guard seeing a modern right hand drive car in the Midwest USA.
