    When fishing for Carp in the spring months PVA can really come into it's own! As the weather warms and the carp become more active and willing to feed, a small pile of neatly presented bait can often be hard to resist.
    PVA has accounted for thousands of big Carp across the UK and is an excellent addition to the Carp anglers armoury.
    In this video AD Team Member Stephen Crowe talks us through all the different types of PVA available, how to use it and the general do's and don'ts when fishing with it.

    Cheers Steve great video, I love using PVA to present my baits, Stringers and funnel web for spring and winter fishing, PVA bags for summer and Autumn fishing.

    i was struggling for bites and used pva mesh bag that I thought I would not catch any fish using it but I brought it in my tackle box and I caught around 47 to 52 carps starting from 5lbs up to 25lbs in 2days 35hours of action.

    Even as someone who has been fishing for a while I can say that I will be trying the groundbait tip for sure! Cant say i have seen that before but it could be lethal on some lakes. May just try it in the next vlog!

    Using the funnel web ground bait trick, would boilies or pop ups be better as bait on the hair? Thanks

    Used quite a bit of PVA foam to present my rigs and as a marker the past weekend. Worked pretty well. The only problem i had was because it was a warm day once the foam poped up the carp just munched it off the surface giving me only a few seconds to catapult some bait out, they seemed to be more intrested in the foam than the bait. It gave me an idea that if i had my surface controller with me i would have knicked a bit of pva foam on and done some surface fishing.

      Interesting stuff! Definitely worth taking some chum mixers with you next time, or perhaps even trying a zig, especially as the weather warms.

    Hi just wondering can I put pop ups in the mesh bags or
    Do they have to be normal boilies

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Millwalfan06, normal bottom baits would be best. If you put pop up boilies in the pva mesh they would float to the surface once the bag melts.

    How would you recommend attaching the rig to the line?

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Dominic, it depends what rig and stuff you are using. But I guess one of the most popular ways would be via a QC (Quick change) swivel and loop. This allows you to change rigs nice and quickly too.

  • @jordanfellows5792
    @jordanfellows5792 Před 4 lety

    Would you use this instead of spodding, or the two together ? Also Which situation would spodding be more appropriate?

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  Před 4 lety

      Hi Jordan, I hope all is well with you.
      Using PVA bags has many advantages and coupling it with spodding can be effective. Using a PVA bag will ensure that there is a small parcel of bait around your hook bait and ensure your hook point isn't burying or being masked by any debris. Spodding over the top will allow you to introduce a larger volume of bait onto your spot.
      One way to look at it is imagine you are casting your rig out onto a football pitch. With a small PVA bag attached, it will make it more attractive and slightly easier to find. Having a few spods out over the top will make it easier to find for sure but it will also mean there are more choices out there for the carp to choose between which may result in it taking longer for you to get a bite.

    • @joshwelsh1501
      @joshwelsh1501 Před 5 lety +1

      Chris Nortcliffe in the winter? I would probably fish a chod rig with a bright single hook bait. Also wouldn't use ova bags if the lake has a lot of silverfish in. Although I would use pva string with a few boilies. There is a system think it is ngt with the pva hooked on to the lead. Tight lines.
