  • I recently bought a Bambu Labs P1S 3d printer. I found the unload filament function took way too long. This is my method to unload filament much quicker. I hope this helps!

Thanks for this. I'm thinking about getting a P1S but was put off by the loading/unloading process they present. I'm always changing filament and it takes 10 seconds to do on my Ender 3 so this is basically the same method.

Awesome! Glad I can help. I went from an Ender 3 V2 to the P1S. The P1S is such an amazing printer. I highly recommend.

idk if this is any faster.. it's a lot of clicking
the unload button I can press and wait the like 10s it takes to do the unload process
it takes me more than 10s to grab and open my filament dry box anyway
    🤷‍♂️

Its not faster and this method should not be used, you will end up with clogs as you need to load a tiny bit of filament and then unload. Presets do this for you.

what does the unload filament button do when you press it? I see a lot of steps the way you presented it. My Sidewinder X1 has a load and unload button and if the hotend is already at the proper temp it just takes seconds to unload. How long would it take the P!S to unload hitting its button if the hotend is already at the correct temp

The unload button cleans the hot end, homes the bed and hot end to avoid crashing, moves to the front to engage the cutter, moves to the back to clean the hot end again. It's actually a very long process. I find these steps to be faster for me.

Thanks for showing this! The manual explanation is not clear in my opinion.

Very nice. Thank you. Bambu has some lame video with music (no narration) that explains none of this. They should hire you for English-speaking consumer relations.

Please everyone who watches the video do not do this for many reasons. Terrible advice. 1. Hot end should be way hotter 2. When you load and unload filament some should be loaded first then unloaded, the presets do this for you and you risk all kinds of clogs and other problems. 3. If you dont unload enough filament you will get pieces of filament stuck in the extruder when you pull it out. This youtuber should be ashamed of themselves.
