I thought Kai and Nathan's double barrel at Jaws last week would get a mention just because of how big and how unique it was to get two in on one massive face like that. Kai Lenny no contest that was impressive. A tube most people can do it but what he did in that wave a very few would try it and succeed.

Ya, I will pile on the Kai Lenny vote.. Even though tow in gives you that measure of security with those foot straps he still thought to draw those lines on the face of a wave when most would just be happy to make the drop and be done with it.. Que Legal Brah..

If Grant Baker makes it out of that barrel it is the best wave I have ever seen hands down. Nevertheless crazy wave, Can't imagine what it would be like paddling for that and having to get timing and placement, just so crazy to witness.

Should there be a category for paddle only?

There's a "Biggest Paddle Award" and then "Ride of the Year" and "Biggest Wave."

@Abu Dabu It's a valid argument. But it's the WSL who decides - not us. 😉
