If not they will realize they could have traded him straight up for Caruso. Which personally I would have done. Of course I would have tried to squeeze out a pick.. But cap issues could be a problem next season. With him, Turner, Tyrese big supermax, Pascal bs contract goes up from 43+ to whatever. Caruso is one of the best point defenders in the league and has a great shot. He'd been absolutely perfect to play alongside Hali late in a game.
25:36 The Pacers are trying to avoid the tax this year. But they are paying Pascal, Ty and Obi so clearly not afraid of it in the future.
Salary and tax increases so that helps a ton. They will eventually have to make some consolidation trades.

They made the ECF. If Carlisle developed the youth, they are a play in team and may have missed playoffs.
Who hasn't developed? Every player on the team has continued to improve, including Turner and McConnell, who aren't even young.

He might end up being too expensive. If he was 15-20m I agree but I think he’ll be closer to the 30-35 range especially if he has a good year next year. Nembhard can’t be our third highest paid player. I would prefer we trade him for value if that’s the case

@@justinwilson9848I agree 100% but he’s going to be so expensive to extend. I love Andrew and if we can get him for 20m we should resign him immediately. My guess is that he’s much more expensive than that or we would have already extended him. We cannot pay him 30-35m

Glad they brought Pascal and Obi back. Just wish they would have had enough cap space left over for a veteran wing, they are still one short and I don't think counting on Jarace to fill that role this year is sound strategy. At this point, they have 12 players signed and only 4+ million left before the first apron so its unlikely they will sign anyone who will contribute this season with cap space. I'm hoping they use an exception on Kyle Anderson.
Obi is important because we need a solid backup for Pascal. Walker gets in the rotation when anyone is injured.

Rick is a terrible and overrated coach and hates playing young players. He forced TJ in the line up instead of letting Andrew grow as a back up PG. Stunted Mathurins growth and refused to play Jarace for no good reason also stunting his growth. Pacers need a new coach who can teach and who allows young players to play.

That’s why Nembhard and Sheppard both got minutes as rookies and young players. Mathurin played 28 min a game as rookie. You’re right he hates these young guys and it has nothing to do with their performances
