  • With this list the last three movies are ok it's just the first two I didn't truly enjoy but once I have watched some more movies this list will probably change. Like I said I have some catching up to do.

Problem with our universe is…THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH CONTENT!!! Instead of say making 30 decent movies a year…every Tom, Dick & Moron is being greenlit wasting money on garbage by people who have NO BUSINESS pretending to be a legit writer. Thus 1000 real bad projects because all these overpriced networks need content to justify their existence. Horrid state of affairs.

Well said. Back in the day some upcoming filmmaker could make a low budget film with a few investors money and sell it to a studio and potentially make a box office and critical hit. Now it's harder than ever to make a name for yourself because even if they do get a film Greenlit it'll get buried under a pile of crappy movies made for a Quick buck for streaming and it's unlikely that a promising filmmakers movie will ever see the big screen, even if it's great. streaming is potentially destroying future greats due to an overcrowded market.

I can't properly judge having seen so few movies but, with the risk of sounding rude (which I don't intend, obviously), it seems quite a few of your choices here are down to external factors rather than, necessarily, the movie. I agree that bad cinema experiences can really affect your perceptions of the movie itself (not that you'd necessarily change your mind even if the cinema experence was perfect). The other thing, and this has affected most of us movie fans I think, is having really high expectations (which of course you recognised)... whether those expectations are based on trailers, what other people think or whatever, going in expecting to love a movie and have it be average tends to make the movie feel so much worse than if you'd seen it 'blind'... not that there's any point in saying this I know; you've either seen trailers or not (and they might be what persuaded you a movie was actually worth your time so in a lot of cases a necessity!)
I _do_ know I deliberately try to avoid 'overpraising' movies I love to my wife because too often she's finally watched them and been let down because she was expecting so much more based on my description. I and a friend both kept on about how much we loved *Princess Bride* (you may not be a fan so this could be a rubbish example!) and one day, when I was working away, she watched it by herself but it was such a letdown after all our praise she was really bored by it; of course it also makes a difference (again) we all saw it first at different ages and under different circumstances so she was watching alone and with no nostalgia!
All that said it's almost impossible to separate circumstances and expectations from a movie watch and the only thing you can do is rewatch to see if you agree with your initial thought... the problem being that this is a *LOT* easier and more likely with your Top 5 *FAVOURITE* movies rather than choosing to rewatch the movies you've disliked most!
Great video to watch though and at least, unlike far too many, you had reasons for not liking something a bit more informative and helpful than "I hated it because it was s**t" 🤣
I would give you a Top 5 worst and best but they'd probably have to be the same in reverse order given I've only been able to get to the cinema twice... 🤕😱😭

I enjoyed madam web for the most part, I think people went into that movie expecting something else.

My sister watched it and she said she thought it wasn't too bad. And that Dakota Johnson was more animated than Bree Larsson, which she hadn't expected. I said to her she has the advantage when watching such films as she doesn't know the source material so can't judge them against such. Which is probably no bad thing.

The worst part of Madame Web (and it's not a good film AT ALL) Is that Dakota Fanning doesn't care one bit about being in the movie - and that bled over into all her interviews for the film too. If you watch them, the interviewer asks some simple questions that she doesn't have an opinion on.. at least have an opinion on the MCU, considering she's now in it.. and being paid MILLIONS of dollars to do the films and have a contract, yet really doesn't care even about any of it, despite being in a financial position people would kill for.
Now I've said this, you won't be able to un-see just apathetic to her own work is.

Please , give Argylle another chance. It is a movie that doesn't take itself seriously, it is a spy spoof, many people don't understand that . As a spoof , I enjoyed it so much I hope it comes out on physical media at some point, because there are already bootlegs of this movie. Thank you for the review.

I don't like to humour in Abigail. It could have been a really good horror film, with Abigail and her other child vampire friends.

I liked madame web because I liked Spiderman comics in the early 1980's. She was clairvoyant blind old lady in a wheel chair who helped spiderman. So iI wanted to see some kind of origin story for her.

Terrible reviews. "Like I said" so many times and no real analysis at all.
