Why are the PHILADELPHIA 76ERS HELPING the MILWAUKEE BUCKS?

Why did the Philadelphia 76ers trade with a fellow Eastern Conference rival? Why did they trade Beverly to the Bucks? Trades happen every season, even trades between rivals. But why would the Sixers trade the Bucks something that they desperately needed, like perimeter defense?
