Jimmy Butler will make this team an instant contender
The 18-19 Sixers with Butler was THAT TEAM! They really coulda been something. Saw them against the Warrriors & then Raptors in the playoffs. Butler was what they needed….and they let him go
That said, this is Perkins tryning to make headlines for himself. The Heat never consider themselves out of contention. They’ve seemingly perfected playing the season with the record of a 5-9 seed and then succeeding in the playoffs. TLDR- Heat won’t consider trading Butler if they can make the playoffs

This the same GM that just traded his starting PG from last year ECF squad and didn’t resign Wade when he was old. Riley stays ahead of the game and if the right deals comes around would absolutely move Butler who’s already missed more games than Embiid this year.

Lowry can play backup PG extremely well at this stage of career and is still clutch. Just because he’s not the same star don’t meant his 9ppg, 4epg, 4apg, and 1.5 spg wouldn’t be perfect off the bench for 20 mpg.

I am glad this situation with Embiid occurred; not that he is injured but for the simple fact it exposes the Sixers.... The need to pursue Markkanen or a Big like Cousins. A solid back up big is the weakness Jimmy and Pat would be an insane combo.
