What I have heard he actually tried to get one capsule but the Soviet attack made him panic and the gloves were so unwieldy that the package broke resulting in him getting all the Perverin in his glove and he panicked and swallowed them all. I have also read that he had a fight with a small animal which turned out to be a stick. In any case a legend and he died of old age
The pills were stuck together and they were skiing while soviets where chasing them, so he didnt have time to break the pills apart and take only 1, so he took the ball off pills
He needed more energy to outrun the Soviets, and he got it.
That explains a lot, honestly.
And according to his own recollection of the events, because they hadn't slept properly in a while, he wasn't completely there either and didn't really think about the matter and just gulped down what he could get on his mit.
@@CorporalCookieconsidering they entrusted him with the whole squads meth because allegedly he was the only one that said he would not rely on the chemicals if he could help it, so he was the least likely to eat the pills "for fun", i think he should have knows to at least take a bite off the nugget of pills instead of just chugging it whole. but i guess a sleepdeprived hungry man trying to outrun armed soviets in extremely cold temperatures really isnt in the right mind to make even simple thought ahead decisions.

Aimo Allan Koivunen (17 October 1917 - 12 August 1989) was a Finnish soldier in the Continuation War and the first documented case of a soldier overdosing on methamphetamine during combat.

The psychedelic hallucinations are spot on!!! One of you animators has to have tripped before. There’s no way anyone gets this close just by description
So true
meth isn't a psychedelic
@@hmalik5232No, but a combination of sleep deprivation, malnourishment and narcotic substances have a tendency of producing psychedelic experiences.
@@pohjantuulet247 I only have experienced minor hallucinations from sleep deprivation (survival/enemy avoidance exercise in finnish army, 2 and a half days with almost no food and only a little bit of sleep during the first night. From the second evening to the end was 16 hours of skiing through forests and avoiding enemies), I kept seeing houses and forestry machines between the trees even though there were none. My friend had a conversation with spider-man he saw in a tree.
@@outandabout259 Dude literally same, took part in Ruska 19 myself back in 2019. A week and a half long psychological endurance test to see how long it takes to break the fabric of reality. All thanks to a combination of exposure to elements (late autumn, rain during the day, frost during nighttime), lack of food, limited water supply and constant enemy presence forcing defenders to stay awake and alert around the clock.
Lance-corporal opened fire on the enemy while out on patrol. Swears to this day the tree stumps were actually helmets of SOF-Operatives laying on the ground.
I imagine Some of the Soviets watch him and didnt try to capture him because it was so funny to see
i would say more confused then anything. once the fear and adrenaline of realizing that he was surroundes by armed enemies kicked in he likely snapped back to reality for a little as adrenaline does that. he was also going in and out of his senses at that moment because the peak of the drug effects had already worn off. otherwise he would had completely blanked memories of being chased as he had literally no recollection of the first day of the trip when he just wandered off nearly a 100 kilometers to a randon direction before collapsing.

That bird 🐦 hitting animation 😄
I can only imagine the surprise of the soviets as a finnish blur just skii'd at top speed past them, probably yelling "PERKELE!" all the way
Just crazy how he was still high after two weeks. Like how long did it take all in total before he was completely sober again?
the peak of the effects worn off after about a day, as he claimed nearly no recollection of events few minures after taking the pills and helping his men escape. afterwards, he started snapping in and out of it due to the lingering effects of the very high dosage still running on his system. the fact he was dehydrated and nearly starving throughout this whole crazy adventure is what helped the effects to last so long, he didnt had anything for his body to wash the meth out.
he took a whole bar of pervitin, didn't eat anything, it was probably being bioactive for days being slowly released into his system
@@unkindled6410Well, he had snow to drink, but you kind of forget to ingest when you're yeeted.
@@HotHenrik-eu4nu considering how much running and walking he had to do he still didnt quite had nearly enough as he should. Meth is a really good hunger inhibitor and its one of the reasons he survived this trip too.
I feel like we need a movie on these events, and we could label it as an antidrug movie... think it would be Highly successful
For real.
i mean, at the same time he wouldnt have had gotten into that situation without the meth, he only really survived the extreme conditions he was in because of the meth.
also if he never took it in the first place he would have likely had gotten caught by the soldiers pursuing him and his squad earlier. although he might have had escaped and being in a more controlled state had he taken only a single pill which was the advised dosage for the soldiers.
