Hey , you are missing Quincy, FL. By far one of the most devastatingly poor towns I’ve seen. 43.6% Poverty . Roughly 8k people. Worse than any slum i’ve seen and i’ve lived in Collier, Broward, Hillsborough and now Leon. Commenting because towns like Quincy that are north (towards state line) between big bend & panhandle are always overlooked. Just a suggestion to look into the area. That being said, Great video keep it up🙏🏼
A sad but true video. And I could add Liberty City and Over Town in the Miami area. I moved to North Florida 13 years ago. But things are getting worse here too. Hurricane Michael destroyed 1000 buildings in Bay County. And now rent has doubled everywhere. So don't come here unless you got money.
Interesting video! POVERTY is in all cities across Florida. But some are worse than others as your video points out which was well researched! Florida is a cesspool of poverty because it is getting ever-increasingly overpopulated. The more populated, the higher the poverty, drug addiction and homeless. I noticed panhandlers have increased a great deal over the years. Maybe 10 years ago it was rare you seen a panhandler and in the Winter. Now they are everywhere and year around. The traffic is also a disaster. I live in Florida but never heard of the cities you mentioned. Thank God.
In some cities panhandlers are part of a drug ring. 1 panhandler always at the intersection of Penn and Crosstown 62 Crosstown 62 in Richfield Minnesota was spotted when we were down on I-4 in Florida he even recognized us and waved... oh my gosh they get out of Minnesota for the winter. One of our neighbors in the apartment building regularly brings in $60,000 a year panhandling in the Minneapolis area
Juan & company's usual outstanding job of street wise assessment and sociology. Combined with Google Maps I always learn something from these pieces and find myself thinking about them long afterwards. He has a talent for being able find something strangely uplifting, even amongst the ugliness of poverty.
Greetings from the UK, Southern Life - I'm English, and Jewish. Some years ago I went to Poland to try to establish the actual fate of members of my mother's extended family, who were wiped out by the Nazis and their surrogates. What you spoke of in Top 10 Most Racist Places In USA - practised racism, honed over many generations - is exactly what I encountered - amongst SOME Poles - once they knew I was "a Jew". And behind at least some of that was a SELF-loathing, resentment, projected guilt - all that! Even younger, educated, apparently reasonable, progressive people might suddenly say something so bitter - as if reproaching the missing Jews of Poland, for silently "reproaching" them! And by extension, me. It was eerie. I left two days earlier than I'd intended. These legacies can feel overwhelming. If I go again, I'll be fore-warned, and less naive/open. A PS: I spent 3 weeks in New Orleans in 1998 - and I was so struck by the anger I saw, heard, felt, among young Black men in certain areas in particular - that was an education. Thank you for your work.
Especially along Florida’s interior. It’s full of vastly underdeveloped land, and people exploiting others that are less fortunate. But very captivating swamp land and lakes.
That’s in Broward County. There’s way more poor dangerous neighborhoods in florida especially in the south Florida cities. Pompano is rough as hell. Sistrunk used to be a violent area that’s where I grew up then I moved once I got a job and my education to Pembroke Pines area.
You would think that having a Rich area next to a Poor area would help the poor. You know, that Trickle Down theory. All that rich money just cascading down making the poor richer..... or something like that. 😂
@@stevenmcgillivray9283 I dont know where you live, but here in Florida all the richest areas create the worst slums. Immokalee in naples, tice in Fort Myers, we could go on and on.
Immokalee is Seminole for My Home. We're monopolized by land owners and the rich in Naples. Our county refuses to call us a city, yet we're harassed by cops at stop signs looking into people's cars to see if they're wearing seat belts. They don't do that in rich neighborhoods or in the city. We are a family community no matter what the struggle. When a person dies in our town, community ALWAYS helps out. From coin jars at the corner store, selling lunch plates to donating some of your rent money to bury a local. We still celebrate our loved ones who have passed at the cemetery near the ballpark. The plots are adorned with the latest holiday decorations family have put together. At night it lights up like a Christmas lighted neighborhood. We have several known Ex NFL players who are dedicated to helping the youth. We have highly educated people who live and work here. Most have grown up working in the fields so they know education is a way out.
Too many farms higher illegal immigrants. Towns don’t get wealthy if taxes aren’t being paid by the businesses. Seniors consistently vote against tax increases across the board.
Florida isnt a wealthy state, its a poor state. Wealthy people come to a handful of places here.. like Naples, Boca, West Palm, Sarasota.. beyond that its like anywhere else.
Okay this is a bunch of crap it's going on all over the United States to not in Florida North and South Florida that going through the same mess we going here and in the Midwest and wherever is both both the the rhinos and the Liberals here as of right now we just need to work together credit-default balat relies on on the city town Aunt County areas I said the state
The hardest working town in Florida is the poorest….. let that sink in….. 😢…. FLORIDA IS NOT FAIR!!!! 😡
Life's not fair sometimes.
@@stevenmcgillivray9283you’re right, but Florida is corrupt as hell.
It's high costs that are impoverising this country.

Informative video, thank you for going to places I would not go. You do not just talk about it, you document it.
Great video, thanks
This was valuable information. Thank you.🌴
My vote is for Moon Lake. It is located just off East Highway 52.
Good Job Bro. Explained very well

Was going to suggest Wauchula, FL.

If I had the gumption I would try to panhandle just for one year and use that money the catapult my life..
You should see California if you think Florida is a cesspool of poverty. Better yet, see the world.

Voting or not voting is key.
the media has a skewed view of Florida. Once you leave the coast, the place is a mess

Interesting how nearly all of these cities are in bright red parts of the state.

It usually does, in the form of creating jobs.
Now you know that’s a joke these days right, like as in every man for himself, just saying… 😮🧐🤔😜🤪🙄
The "Trickle Down Theory", axiom was popularized nonsense introduced and endlessly repeated during the Regan era.

You know a lot more about Florida than Pennsylvania, watching the Kensington video I don't think you know much about PA at all.
