He spoke about transitioning from acting to music, adding that he likes doing music because it's "built from the ground up" and there's a big sense of accomplishment. Instead, he was about to drop So Far Gone (2009), which would be a huge mixtape for his career and would officially put him on the map. "Brand New" was on So Far Gone once it came out.
