Little one comes running into the room at 2am this morning because the playlist we play every night (Disney Peaceful Piano on Loop Mode) has now shuffled onto playing some big band 50's style music and shocked her into waking up. It wouldn't let me skip the songs it was playing more than 6 times within an hour. So if you don't like the music, then you're stuck.
I hate this update and it is a cynical move by Amazon to get you to buy into their next tier. I'm dusting off the ipod as we speak.....
THey have a plan you can now pay to skip songs unlimited LOL even more money for them.
I would prefer it if Amazon gave the choice for each Prime subscriber to choose between how it was before they changed it OR 100 million songs in shuffle mode.

For $8 for Premium you get All Hi-res Sony 360, Dolby Atmos. But you can shuffle an album and you can play Single release albums .
I tryed it out now it sucks it's mow has all limitations as Spotify free plan has only thing is no ads on Amazon music

Thanks for the video. Didn't realise things had changed. I asked my Amazon Echo to play Desire by Dylan and it said I had to be subscribed to Unlimited, but then played Hurrican off the album. When I said skip it played Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits and then when I said skip again it played Wish you were Here by Pink Floyd. My head is spinning. Back to the turntable.

I have amazon prime. That's the main reason I started using amazon music instead of free spotify account. Even tho you can't have full catalogue but you can choose songs you want to listen to. For me it still shows amazon unlimited on some songs. (Maybe I need to update the app) :D

That's so cool. I've had fire TV sticks, cube, box, for years as well as Prime. But recently got into the Alexa and echo dots mostly for music, I like it and my wife LOVES it, so much that we started their 3 months trial. I found it will play me a complete album, but as well as shuffled, it will also have all the tracks shuffled in with albums of a similar type. So not just the tracks in an album.

When the song I want comes up, I add it to my personal playlist, not ideal but am happy with it.

I have been using Prime Music for several years now and have had to delete it. I was able to download tracks to my old iPhone that I kept in the car to stream via Bluetooth while in offline mode. Now I can't unless I subscribe to unlimited. This used to be an amazing service with Prime, granted I couldn't get every song I wanted, there was still enough out there to give me lots of options. Bummed out that I can't have the variety of music in the car that I had before without needing to stream. Hopefully with all the complaints Amazon in getting now they will make some changes.

I asked alexa to play a song and she played it , and I've the standard version, you can skip(limited) , won't play full albums or any you ask for use the app , it's better but lots of songs that were on it free are now needing a membership
Oh this is so helpful!! I've been wondering what the hell was going on! A double edged sword I think. I can't listen to my music any more. I was just saying to my son this morning that maybe it's time we swap over to Spotify... I can deal with ads if it means I can actually listen to the songs I'm asking for.

Going by all the one star âïž reviews I would say most prime members would rather have 2 million songs that they can choose skip as many times as they like not a few times an hour

The last two updates of Amazon music on Android is messed up. As I'm playing my music it will randomly stop I turn my screen back on and it will play again. Uninstall the update and installed an older version of Amazon music and no problem

It's fine for general playlists. I work from home so have music on in the background, and some days I like to just play a long playlist so I don't need to keep choosing - I wouldn't care about what order they are in anyway. For albums though... hideous! You can skip so it's no bother for listening to a specific track, but if you want to listen to an album, it should be how the artist released it.
I'll stick with my Spotify as I get exactly what I ask for. Amazon keeps on telling me that I not making full use of membership in, by not using Amazon Music!đ

I've spent years building my music playlist on my Amazon prime. These playlist are now useless as I can only play them in shuffle mode. It's clearly a way to force people to pay 8.99 a month if you want to listen to the playlist you've built or select a song from those playlist. It's a very shady way to force people already paying for prime to pay even more. The cost of prime in the last two years went from 99.00 to 120.00 and now it will cost 139.00. And now they are pulling this BS with prime music.

This change sucks. I play different playlist during different parts of my day with my daycare children. Now I cannot play my clean up songs at the end of our play period. :( I guess I'll have to pull out, and make my own mixed tape/burned CD! lol
It is a lie to call this an upgrade. It's just a money grab by Amazon.
I liked to use Echo to listen to albums that were in the 2 million. Now you can't. You can't listen to an album out of order, it will throw in a bunch of other artists. And if you ask for artist, in addition, it will always start the sequence from the same song. For example, ask for Aimee Mann and it will play Aimee Mann - Burn it out, Aimee Mann - You Do, Aimee Mann - Stuck in the past, Aimee Mann - You never loved me, Aimee Mann - Home by now, Aimee Mann - Knock It Off. Shawn Colvin - Get out this house. Those titles seem appropriate, especially the one by Shawn Colin (Get out of this house, Prime will be gone from my house when my prime expires.
At least 50% of the songs are always not the artist you asked for (and a higher percentage when you ask for an album). And you only get 6 skips per hour. And to top it off, if you pause for more than about two hours you can't resume from where you were, it starts the same list from the start.
And Amazon Prime is not free. The echo (and Google Home) have become much less useful since they were released. My favorite music service was the old Google Play Music, but they screwed that up with youtube music.
Cancelling Prime, I don't buy enough to make it worth it any more.

I stopped my Amazon prime account this morning. It was the only reason that I had Amazon prime was for the music app. I'm already paying for Amazon prime and it was supposed to be part of the package when I signed up. This is why I own over 1000 CDs, I have 292 GB of music that I own and can curate anyway I feel I don't need Amazon prime. Unfortunately most people have bought end of the digital download bs I think it's on the chair on my mistake of my Amazon and if I were you, I would not be talking. This is some kind of a wonderful something that amazon gave us. They ruined the music collections of millions of people that used to use that app that will now be dumping Amazon watch their stock plummet.

Unlimited can be free for 3 months but it depends on how you apply. Tried 3 ways...1 said not available to me. Another said 1 month but another gave me 3 months. Sorry can't remember which option gave me 3mths. 1 through Amazon app, one through chrome browser and another through email opening on Google but not Chrome at least I think that's how...just try various ways until you get the 3 months.

How long would it take to listen to a 100 million songs.
You can skip songs forever with no ads or popular songs are on Album singles easy enough. Now all I pay is $8 Wondery Podcasts are a blast!!
I used to download music to listen to whilst driving as an aid to relieving my tinnitus and it needs to be of a soothing kind, shuffling throws all sorts of music into the mix which is no good for me. You can not download music unless you have music unlimited. IT A PAIN!

This is a good start but people that pay for Prime should also get the music unlimited features included...
At the very least, it's a tactical marketing scheme.
But it affects the playlist I have made. For example, I have a sleep playlist for my childcare to steam when napping. Now they're all messed up. There is a certain song for my age level I have a playlist. and now they are all shuffled up So no I am not excited about this change.
How to download to mp3?
Don't like it one bit, just seems to play random tracks, so I've setup my Spotify account to be the default music source for my Echo dot via the Alexa app. Everything is a-okay now.
Your only allowed 6skips an hour but if you find the track you like you can save I'm your playlist đ

Thatâs a good point. I often listen to soundtracks for movies or musicals and they are typically meant to be listened to in order.
The phase "shuffling songs by (insert your artist here) and SIMILAR ARTISTS" is now my most hated saying by that dam Alexa. If I wanted similar artists I would ask to listen to the them.

The shuffle only mode is a pile of garbage. You ask for music by Willie Nelson and it plays Julio Iglesias. Playing an album is not possible, no matter what you ask for you get random music by random artists which may have some similarity to what you asked for if you're lucky.
The lack of offline mode is huge for me. I almost exclusively listened to downloaded music on Amazon. I will now be deleting the app. I'd much rather the full functionality with a smaller library than this bull shit.
So let me get this right.
If you have Amazon Prime, I think đ€ i paid ÂŁ80 (before the price hike), you can listen to Amazon music đ¶ at no extra cost. Eg "Alexa play Bee Gees greatest hits". This is đŻ đ and no extra cost.
But you cannot ask Alexa play "Night Fever đș đ" by the Bee Gees?
Can you recreate a playlist of the tracks you like and get Alexa to play just that list at no extra cost if you have Prime ?
Are commercials excluded from the playlist?

That's funny I thought I paid for prime? What was it again OH yeah about 130 dollars a year for that 2 million songs and the basic ability to choose and download songs. Just really screws over people that actually liked their prime version of Amazon music.
This update sucks. I was perfectly fine with the 2mil songs and the ability to IDK DOWNLOAD MUSIC! Not only that they even went lower than that and even made you have to shuffle it with 6 skips an HOUR!. WOOHOO đ 100 million songs that I don't want to listen to at the cost of basically the only reason to use Amazon music. Good job Amazon. Not only that I just realized that they don't even just play things just in your album or playlist it will randomly pick stuff similar to the songs you pick. I'm honestly amazed at how bad this is and to think I was gonna actually buy unlimited before the update because I actually just enjoyed the platform crazy right it's almost like it was perfectly fine the way it was because unlimited was still worth it it was a pretty good upgrade from prime not only for sound quality but for the amount of songs to.
