I've always wanted to build a base where you have a cool secret entrance door, yes, but you can also flick a switch to transform a whole section of cliff, having pistons open up windows and sunroofs, maybe reveal some cool artwork, decorative features etc. Or just have the base lock down at night and be fully secure but awaken each day when it's safe

@@butters3938 He is, and always has been, a Java Redstoner. Redstone in Bedrock has unpredictable results in a couple of situations, especially dealing with pistons, so he and most other redstoners don't use it. Buy Java if you want to play with advanced redstone.

Unnecessary for loop throwing an unnecessary exception being caught by an unnecessary comparator (if-elseif chain) and then finally the door opens by an unnecessary redstone signal sending a boolean==true;

The very first time I wanted to make a 2x2 flush hidden door was back in like 2010 or 2011...it took up So. Much. Room. You had to power the bottom pistons separately from the top ones and time them all just right...I'm sure glad that they changed it! It's much easier to do and to remember now.
Were you using Bedrock (console/ pocket edition)? I built a 2x2 flush this week on my phone and you still have to power the bottom separately. The design shown in the video only works on Java edition.
@@LegorocketsAnimation oh, no, it was Java; bedrock wasn't a thing at the time. Smart phones didn't even exist. They changed a lot of how Redstone works since then. It was probably more like 2012 ( I mis-remembered in my original comment), but the game had just come out.

I honestly like the bookshelf one the most. Its simple and can be made effective and clever by having one block of bookshelf powered and placing a lever there. The lever could then be hidden someplace else like a key.

I combined the pretentious entrance (item trigger hidden behind the picture), modified with a dropper to return any items thrown in, a hopper-comparator based delay, as well as the tiny hidden staircase, built in a natural villager house next to a hill to make an awesome hidden base entrance. Super awesome combination, loved trying them out; they blend in exquisitely!
i would find this impressive if i understood what any of it meant

Hey Mumbo, you might *_really_* like the mods project-red (specifically PR transmission) and opencomputers.
It's essentially red stone, but infinitely more compact, and you have more control. I'd just like to see what *_you_* could make of it.

Project Red's is basically a redstone replacement, what with the ability to put it one walls and ceilings, and the "advanced circuits in a repeater-like block" stuff.
