      Hey, at least _that_ Inquisitor was bothering to follow standard Inquisitorial interrogation procedure!
      Step (1), approach the interrogee with your Rosette in hand and explain to them, in no uncertain terms, that their cooperation is demanded, and that you have _every_ authority to expect that cooperation in a timely manner. Specific wording may vary.
      Step (2), be forthright and ask the questions you want the interrogee to answer. This works more often than you'd expect.
      Step (3), if answers aren't forthcoming, explain to the interrogee _vividly_ what you are going to do to them to elicit information from them, in order of increasing severity, while reminding them that you have _every_ authority to make good on your threats. Ask the questions one more time.
      Step (4), if answers _still_ aren't forthcoming, you follow through on your threat in the _exact_ order you described. Ask the questions again.
      Step (5), repeat Step (4) as needed, but increasing the severity of the interrogation by one level for each repetition. Ask the questions again.
      Step (6), dispose of the interrogee, whatever may be left of them. They've either provided the information you demanded of them by this point, or suffered a tragically early demise.

      @colinayre2109 Před 2 lety +23

      The Tau are ok because everyone else is too busy to focus on them to wipe them out. The imperium is a necessary evil due to the fact that it’s harder to take over or destroy a single unified empire than it is to take over smaller kingdoms. If not for the Imperium, Orks or Tyranids would have gutted the disparate worlds ages ago, hell even Ultramar needed more than just the Ultramarines to hold off the ‘Nids at Maccrage. The Imperium sucks, but it’s keeping mankind’s head above water in the middle of a hurricane after the Horus Heresy wrecked the ship mankind was cruising on.

    I would say a good example of this is in one of my favorite warhammer books. Where there was this planet that had a cult(chaos cult specificly) that started to rise and gain influence. But there was one regular guy who saw this and then instantly ran, wanting to warn/snitch to the inquistion and imperium itself.
    He aided some the space marines and the inquisition to hunt down the suspects and kill every heretic. Then at the end when everybody else is dead, the guy talked to the space marines and the inquisitors how happy and glad he is that it is all over and that he reported to them.
    But then Inquistior says like "well there is one more thing to care of, and that's to kill you"
    The guy then starts begging, not understanding and telling all about how he helped them and everything, asking why would he be a heretic.
    The inquistor argued he probably is tainted and they can't risk that.
    Low and behold right at the moment they killed the guy he turned into a daemon and started killing people and trying to kill the space marines and inquisitor.
    That is the grimdark risk of these universe, you might be corrupted and even have daemon inside you without you knowing. Even when you try to stop chaos.
    Saying this though if the emperor ever returns and if Malcador even was alive they both would hate the inquisition.

      Insanely, the Inquisition *still* holds a grudge against the Celestial Lions a thousand years later, using a Callidus Assassin to assassinate the Chapter Master (who along with the other 95 survivors had rebuilt the Celestial Lions thanks to Grimaldus of the the Black Templars intervening to make sure they'd get off Armageddon alive). Even though the Inquisitor they'd originally offended by questioning his being so Exterminatus-happy would be long dead by that point.
